"This hoagie is EXCELLENT!" came the excited praise, loudly, from the next room…read more Let me back up for a moment. My born-and-raised-in-Philly partner and I spent the weekend in Maryland, helping my parents with some things. On the way home to PA, because it was bonkers hot, we were tired, and neither of us was interested in cooking, I asked, "What do you want for dinner?" "HOAGIES." He didn't even pause. So, hoagies, it was to be. But from where? There's a chain place nearby, but their offerings have, of late, been disappointing. SO: Yelp - Hoagies - Sort By "Rating" - Yohn's Grocery. It was on. When we were about 20 minutes from home, I put in our order. We walked through the door and the driver arrived about five minutes later. Everything we got -- gravy fries, mozzarella sticks, and a turkey club -- was great. But the hoagie? The hoagie was off-the-charts good. Philly Perfect. And it's right in our backyard! How did we not know? This is now our go-to hoagie joint. Hands down, the best.

Which is why small distinguishing details matter. Amore has some pluses over the competition- they use pieces of chicken (not chicken steak) for the Chicken Bacon Ranch Pizza, are willing to do 1/2 & 1/2 on specialty pizzas, & use a generous amount of cheese in the Italian Calzone. What's disappointing- the lack of taste in the pizza & sandwiches (like they're not using salt). Pizza sauce was bland & sweet, which made the Hawaiian Pizza & Meatball Parm Sandwich a bit flavorless. Toasted Garlic Cheesesteak- nice roll, good chopped onions, but season the meat please! And swap the mozzarella for more American or provolone (stringy pizza cheese just doesn't work well). Amore Loaded Fries at $8.50 was a rip-off- small portion of crinkle cut fries w/ not enough topping.

With 2 it was barely enough for our family and we've always had a ton of leftovers. Another time a pasta with sausage meal came without sausage and I called and they said they'd credit my card, nope. Also specifically called to order a pizza to avoid the service and credit card fees yet somehow paying with cash I still paid same price as I would've online that included the fees.

fast seating , great parking , restaurant was busy and still very clean …read more very friendly greeter's and waitress was at table almost immediately (Amanda). drinks and apps delivered in 5 minutes. (3trio chips and chips and salsa). love the house ranch and guacamole. Entrees arrived about 7 minutes later perfect timing . Amanda table touched often to make sure our drinks were topped off . there was 6 of us and we still had that great of service. the mozzarella planks in nashville hot is my favorite signature side . i am a vegetarian and had house salad which was fresh and delicious and the cheese planks . everyone else had chicken dishes and said the food was delicious. my 10 year old had the white cheddar mac and cheese and loved it . Highly recommended this restaurant for a large group or just a lunch date . Great Service : relaxing sport bar restaurant environment clean very fair pricing many new menu options many new cocktails Great service ( Amanda)

Seated quickly at sticky table w/ no lighting (environment could use some updating). Server pleasant but couldn't deliver on promises. Said food would be up- 40 min before receiving appetizers. Wanted to cancel before everything came out at once. Promised app plates, food cold by time she brought them. Sauces, napkins, no drink refills- everything took the entirety of the meal to receive. Frozen Strawberry Margarita void of alcohol. Triple Dipper App- Big Mouth Bites- dried out mini burgers w/ no taste. (Spotted someone eating giant, delicious looking, burger but realized it's likely just bigger version of Bites). Southwest Egg Rolls- no color or texture; they were white. Good-sized planks of Fried Mozzarella (the best item in trio) but like biting into an uncooked block of cheese because they went cold before reaching table. Spent 5 minutes debating sauce cups before asking for Avocado Ranch. Once brought, figured out we already had it. All the sauces are white w/ no flavor. Can't distinguish Blue Cheese from Avocado Ranch. Brisket Quesadillas came as a mix of Brisket & Chicken Bacon Ranch. A godsend considering brisket had no heat or flavor. CBR had a distinct smokey flavor. Ultimate Steakhouse Combo w/ Honey-Chipotle Chicken Crispers, BBQ Half Order Ribs, & Chicken Bacon Ranch Quesadillas. Ribs were tender & smokey, Crispers crunchy & sweet (no heat). Roasted Street Corn, White Cheddar Mac n Cheese (upcharge), & Garlic Toast for $25.00 was basic but good. $80 too much to spend on poor service, bland food, watered down drinks, & no atmosphere. Lots of room for improvement.
