    BBQ rib tips
    Daevina C.

Ambiance: This spot can be grab and go or sit down. Several funny signs are posted all over the restaurant. Service: A++ From the cashier to the waiter, everyone was pleasant and friendly. After we received our meals, we were checked on multiple times to ensure that everything was going smoothly. You could also tell that they knew their regular customers well and enjoyed having conversations with them. Very friendly, homey spot. Food: Excellent. We got BBQ rib tips, cornbread, fries, wings (BBQ and stinging honey garlic. BBQ rib tips were tender pieces of meat slathered in a BBQ sauce. Cornbread was a nice crumbly texture not uber sweet . Fries were excellent. They were that perfect mix between crunchy and potato-y, None too soft. Wings were also excellent. These are the best wings I've found in this area on my wing hunt of long island. The BBQ wasn't your typical sweet BBQ, but rather a more of a tangy flavour with some black pepper seasoning. I enjoyed it. The honey garlic was excellent, not super garlic or cloyingly sweet. Rather it was just right. I'd definitely come back for the fries and to try more wing flavors.

Pulled Pork Dinner Meal and Pow Chicken Sandwich
    Lizzie H.

Ordered the pulled pork sliders meal and wow was it a lot of food! I'm more of a Smokey bbq person and their sauce is def on the sweet side but it was delicious none the less. My boyfriend ordered a pow chicken sandwich with a side of stuffing and he has nothing but rave reviews. Both the regular and sweet potato fries were delicious and tasted just as good as left overs. The menu is extensive, but from what we've tried you can't go wrong! Will definitely be back to try more of the menu.

There is not really much I can say but do yourself a favor and go visit this place! You can eat eat in here but it's very small. A small place that has a big ol' amazing menu. Chicken and Waffle sandwich was some of the best I ever had! Let me tell you a cornbread waffle is the WAY TO GO. I got both the maple sriracha and gravy (both on the side) and they both went well with it but I have to say this gravy made me feel like I was at home. Some of the best gravy I've ever tasted. Sweet potato fries were crisp and delicious. Both the sandwich and fries were came in a very nice portion. I really can't wait to go back!

Love this. Great idea to boost tips and I'd love to know how it comes out each month.

Seems like I have contemplated coming here many times, but I had always found somewhere else to buy some great calories. Today, however, I finally got my but over here and it was almost worth the wait. The food is good, but flawed. Fried chicken is excellent, baby back ribs are tender, but by no means falling off the bone. Sauce is a little peculiar, not great and real thick. Cornbread is heavy and dense, though tasty. Should be a whole lot lighter and spongier. Fries are eh, nothing special, and they weren't served real hot (no excuse). Service is friendly and fast, but they only have four soft stools at which to sit and stare out the window at the busy street. Oh and can you spare a little ketchup and maybe a wet wipe?

Was told about this place by my neighbors. Have to say I was pleasantly surprised. Not cheap but not expensive. Food came out fast. Ordered a family special and it easily fed my family of 4. I'll be coming back in the future.

All I keep thinking is who would spend the money to open a restaurant to share these recipes with the world. Everything was bad. The fried chicken was like the one you get at the Chinese food place, the bbq didn't taste like bbq. Soggy fries and plain macaroni salad. Maybe they just opened to cater to the low income urban area. Horrible. Would never order again. Why did you even open? Do you think your food is good? Maybe you just launder money and the restaurant is a front, I can't figure it out.

The location might seem small, but it's jammed packed with traditional flavors that are being executed to perfection. Can't believe I waited this long living in the neighborhood (2+yrs) to finally stroll in and experience what some might say is 'Pura Vida' or !Magnífico¡ Upon first visit, I had to try one of their margaritas and at least one 'Street food' menu item, so opted for their Pear Margarita and Birria Empanadas. Let's say Bravo, Brava and Encore to explore more of their menu. The cocktail was totally on point without being overpowering in any way, very balanced and brightly refreshing. The empanadas were deliciously crispy without being greasy, stuffed and sealed perfectly. Then opted to try their Mashed Potatoes Fries and requested a side of their advertised Shishito slaw seen topping another menu item. I loved the way they created and presented both. The fries were a perfect balance of soft but crisped with the creme drizzle and pickled onions. :* The Shishito slaw was a summery, crunch lightly dressed which has me wanting and requesting more the next visit. They should definitely add that as one of their regular listed sides. My husband had a burger with regular slaw and an old fashioned styled cocktail which he mentioned to be exceptional as well. Can't wait to dive deeper into their menu and would highly recommend to others.

I've eaten barbecue all over the country--from New York to Texas, including Austin and Houston--and I never expected some of the best BBQ I'd ever have to be right here in West Babylon on Long Island. Everything is smoked fresh twice a day: once for the lunch crowd and again for dinner. You can absolutely taste the difference. The ribs, pulled pork, and chicken are unbelievably tender, juicy, and packed with smoky flavor. The meat practically falls off the bone, with just the right amount of fat to keep every bite moist and flavorful. I also recommend the mashed potatos with beans on top, and the chili mac & cheese. Get the BBQ trifecta like I did and I promise you'll be glad you did. The cornbread deserves its own mention. It's incredibly moist and delicious. My favorite way to eat it is lightly toasted until it's golden brown with a generous spread of creamy butter, but it's fantastic straight out of the bag too. The BBQ sauce ties everything together perfectly. It has a rich, smoky flavor with just the right balance of sweetness and tang. It's so good that you'll find yourself putting it on everything without overpowering the meat itself. What really sets Bitterman's apart, though, is the value and the hospitality. Joe clearly takes pride in what he serves, and it shows in every tray that comes out of the kitchen. He is such a nice guy too! The portions are enormous (there was enough for tonight and tomorrows dinner with my wife), the quality is consistently outstanding, and you leave feeling like you got far more than you paid for (you can't say that about many other restaurants these days). If you're looking for authentic, top-quality barbecue on Long Island, stop searching. Bitterman's has earned a lifelong customer, and I'll gladly make the drive back again and again. Five stars without hesitation. Stop by and tell them Jason sent you!

To reiterate, Bitterman's is a hidden gem where the proprietor Joe is a serious barbeque afficianado with a keen craftsmanship approach to cooking spectacular BBQ. My wife picked us up some carryout last night which is their bread and butter (they have a few small tables almost like a deli inside). Holding with my previous experience the food was absolutely incredible. We lucked out going later towards close where Joe "loaded up" the BBQ where a tri-fecta turned into a quad-fecta LOL. The Mac and cheese was top notch and their cornbread always moist never dry with their signature pineapple flavor infusion. Everything exceeded expectations and I know Joe reads all of these reviews personally so what I will add is please bring back the smoked sausage, Joe. With love from your fans.

The Brixton is a beautiful restaurant with very relaxed and casual vibes. The word around town is that their drinks are awesome. What about their food, though? They originally would not seat us in the middle of the afternoon because most of the empty tables were reserved. We had to request to sit outside, which was empty, before they decided to serve us. Odd that they did not even offer that to us. The General Tso' Cauliflower was the only great thing served to us. It is incredibly crispy and flavorful. You almost forgot that you were eating a piece of vegetable at times. The Short Rib Brisket Sesame burger was shocking. $18 for two White Castles-sized sliders. It was easily consumed, and I was left much to be desired. This is most definitely an appetizer item, not an entree. The Chicken Waffle was good. Nicely deep-fried and packs a lot of flavor. The waffle looked dubious. If I had to guess, it might not be mad fresh to order. Essentially, it's 3 drumsticks/wings over a possibly frozen Eggo waffle. I would recommend a second dish if you are looking to get full. The Steak frites and Eggs Benedict were the final dishes served. It is hard to mess these dishes up, but the ribeye was nicely seasoned and cut up. The dishes were nicely displayed. Overall, this is just an OK experience. When the deep-fried cauliflower appetizer is the most memorable dish here, it is quite alarming. Portion sizes are on the small end, and none of the flavors for the entrees really stuck out. Perhaps I will come here strictly for the drinks next time.
