I had a very disappointing experience at Sugar Nail in Century City…read more My husband and I went in for a manicure and pedicures, and from the outset, we felt pressured into upgrading to a more expensive pedicure (around $68) that we did not want or need. During my husband's pedicure, the technician applied an acidic substance to his feet, and then left him attended. Mind you, he and I had the same "deluxe" service but did not have the substance applied. He repeatedly told the technician that his feet were burning when she returned. Instead of addressing the issue, his concerns were dismissed, and the service continued. Over the next several days, his condition worsened--his feet continued to burn, the skin began peeling, and painful sores developed. What should have been a routine, relaxing service turned into a genuinely concerning situation. When I raised the issue with the salon, there was no meaningful follow-up. After multiple messages, I was told the matter was being "looked into" and that a manager would contact me. That never happened. The only response I received came after I indicated I would leave a review. In that response, they suggested this was due to a "pre-existing condition." My husband has never had any prior issues with his feet. This explanation appears to be a convenient attempt to avoid accountability rather than a good-faith effort to understand what happened. My concerns are threefold: * Pressure to upsell services we did not request * A service that appears to have been performed improperly and without appropriate monitoring * A lack of accountability or timely response when the issue was raised. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this salon.

I had such a great experience at this nail salon, I genuinely had to come leave a review because…read morethe level of care and detail did not go unnoticed. The salon itself is clean, relaxing, and has such a calm, welcoming vibe -- you can actually unwind instead of feeling rushed or herded through like an assembly line. Everything felt intentional and well-kept. And Grace... she is THAT girl. Her attention to detail is unreal. She took her time, made sure everything was shaped perfectly, and didn't cut corners at all. You can tell she really cares about her work and takes pride in what she does. My nails came out flawless -- clean, precise, and exactly what I wanted (honestly even better). On top of that, she's so sweet and easy to talk to, which just makes the whole experience even better. It didn't feel transactional, it felt like being taken care of. If you're booking here, ask for Grace -- she's the one. I'll definitely be coming back! :)

I reached out to the salon about the issue, but they didn't offer any solution and the attitude was quite rude. It honestly felt like they just didn't care. Very frustrating experience. I wouldn't come back and definitely wouldn't recommend this place.

My Mom is immune compromised due to chemo. If you are immune compromised this is not the place for you! They do not use clean instruments. Or files. Everything is just sitting in the trays in their carts. Never did I see them open a sterile package with tools. At least the women who did my moms Mani pedi were nice. The ones that did mine acted like they were mad. Maybe mad why they had to fit us in? I don't know but it was obvious they were mad. Very unfriendly & kept speaking to one another in their language like they were pissed off. Especially the woman who did my toes. Manhandling & she even cut me, and waited until the very end of the pedicure to say sorry. The cut hurt! And she even needed to get up to get disinfectant & acted even more mad. She also stopped with the nippers after so the pedicure was terrible. One of my Big toes with the gel is all lumpy too. Luckily I have muiprocin at home, it's an anti staph ointment to rub my toes down with, otherwise I'd be really worried about infection. I feel like if she wasn't so mad she probably would not have cut me, & maybe done a better job? I only gave two stars because we were previously happy here in the past. Otherwise would be a one star. This was not my first time here with my Mom, & we were beyond disappointed. It was definitely our last..

I don't know anyone to doze off while getting a manicure but I'm certain I'm not he first. Sat down with Lisa who appeared to be shy. The first 10 minutes were really quiet. It wasn't until I spoke to her then she started to converse w me. It was a bit awkward being so close in proximity and not speaking but I can say we're best friends lol. She's so sweet. A true professional and knows her craft well. I will make this a habit and come see her a couple times a month going forward. I'm not familiar w he market value of manicures but for the transformation of my hands, $20 plus a $10 tip was worth it. Lisa was firm yet gentle w my hands. She worked fast too. I nodded off twice and I was done. Thanks Lisa and everyone here. Til next time. 5 stars.

Review for Zoe - Service performed is biosculpture gel…read moremanicure refill on fingernails. Quality is excellent, no chipping even though I tend to be rough with my nails and wash my hands a lot. Zoe is detailed and really looks at every angle of each nail to review her work. She's also respectful of my requests, listens to and addresses concerns, you just have to communicate it from the beginning so they know. I've also gone to Shak and Sarah before for gel manicures and observed how they check their work of every nail angle too. I am hooked on their biosculpture gel manicure. It was $85 before, but increased to $90. If you pay cash it's $5 less. I often walk here, safe neighborhood, but they have a decent parking lot if you drive. I usually stick to a solid color or French tips (extra $20-$30 depending on length) and have been coming in every 3 weeks or so. The workers usually chitchat with each other in Mongolian. I actually prefer to not have to talk to anyone when getting my nails done since it's my time to decompress, so this works out for my personality lol. I'd be interested in trying their pedicures, dazzle dry, and nail art in the future. Attaching a before and after with very clean regrowth after over 3 weeks. Edit 5/6/26: added a photo of my nail growth journey. I started with regular gel end of February with short nails (left pic), then started Biogel end of March, and here we are beginning of May (right pic). My natural nails have never been this long before. I had Oyu yesterday for the first time, I am highly sensitive to heat spikes (when drilling or the UV lamp) so the first few minutes of drilling were very painful and had to keep telling her, but same situation with Sarah before regarding heat spikes, that I just had to tell them and they later adjust how heavy or light they press. Oyu learned to adjust to go lighter with the drill and felt much better. So tip if you're sensitive like me, it's important to have that conversation with your nail tech. Kai was also there answering questions regarding when to do biogel refills or when I would need to do new set. He is a subject matter expert and explains well.
