Breakfast sandwich with sausage was excellent
Anthony C.

I've come here twice and both times the food, coffee and service were fantastic. In addition to that, the place was busy during both of my visits which is great. The place has a welcoming vibe and on my first visit I sat outside and my second visit I sat inside both experiences were great. I highly recommend giving them a try!

Driving down HWY 12 and we needed a pick me up. Pillowfight Coffee is tucked away in kenwood and has a great history if you have time to come in and read about the world pillow fighting championships. The space was bright but still had a quiet, cozy feel with the abundance of pillows to relax with. The staff was extremely friendly and welcomed our son to take any seat. The bacon cheddar jalapeño scone was moist and savory. It went well with the dirty chai and pumpkin spice latte that we enjoyed inside.

What a delightful place this cafe is and a very welcome addition to Kenwood. Both the exterior & interior decor is charming. The matcha I ordered was superb as was the Veggie Quiche. The multiple layered Honey cake was scrumptious- what a treat! The staff were all amazingly cordial. There are plenty of cozy seating areas to enjoy your food. Lots of great gift items available as well. I purchased a pound of their coffee & a croissant to take home.

Potato quiche and fruity pebble matcha

Went in on a Friday around 11, service was quick and staff was friendly. By that time they were out of empanadas so I would suggest going in earlier if that's what you're going for. I opted for the potato quiche which was really good, I'm not a big quiche fan but I definitely would get it again. For the month of March they have special drinks and I got the Fruity Pebble Matcha, I'm not sure if it comes unsweetened and I was supposed to add a syrup of my liking but it didn't have much flavor, could very much be my fault for not asking. The vanilla cold foam on top was pretty good though. They had good music playing and I overall loved the vibe!

Pillowfight is a genuinely charming café with good coffee and warm, friendly service. Bonus points for offering vegan walnut banana bread that's not overly sweet. A cozy spot worth revisiting.

What a much-needed lovely addition to our little community of Kenwood! Kenwood school families grab goodies here...old-school locals take a seat to sit and gab for a bit here...and remote workers and girlfriends groups also gather here. So, why not stop by to grab a cup of Java (maybe more?), and then relax and stay for a while, to enjoy this well-curated space.

Cute outdoor seating!

I've been waiting for this coffee shop to open and it was worth the wait! The ambiance inside and outside is fantastic - clean, aesthetically pleasing and welcoming. There are so many little spaces where you can get comfortable with a good book or a good friend and enjoy your coffee. Coffee was great - I had a delicious cappuccino and the customer service was amazing. Friendly and personable. They also have a great bathroom for anyone just looking for a spot for a bathroom break and pick-me-up drink on your way through.

Just what Kenwood needed. Excellent ambiance, coffee, service, and the food is great too. 10/10

It is very pricey, the food is good. Coffee is good. Ambiance is good. Service is good. But the price is too high for what you actually get.

They've spruced up the stand with lots of gorgeous plants, and they even added some super cute outdoor seating. Although I didn't snap a picture they have some nice pink bistro tables and awesome retro 50's looking fringe umbrellas. I really like the throwback vibe they chose for the decor. The bacon egg and cheese sandwich on a perfectly toasted sesame seed bagel is what I had and it was fantastic. If you're in the mood for a cafe style breakfast that's quick and easy then I highly recommend you give SPK a try! This is an order at the counter spot, so don't expect table service. It's kinda a to-go spot to be honest, which is what we did. Our coffee came out before our food which was nice and the cafe tables made a nice spot to relax and sip our coffee while we waited for our sandwiches to come out. Which happened relatively quickly. The price, quality and value were all amazing! And the service was quick, friendly and efficient. I highly suggest giving SPK a try!

The history of this winery can be traced back to the 1920s, when a rich mining family moved west from Michigan and purchased the land where it sits on. The winery business actually started in the 1970s by several businessmen from the San Joaquin Valley. 50+ years later, it remains one of the more recognizable names in the NorCal wine industry. I got here with my buddy David A. and his wife at around 4:15pm. The first thing that struck me was the tranquility. I was dealing with a major protest in my city that morning, so the peacefulness was truly appreciated by me. Aside from that, nature's beauty was on full display. The sky was blue, the hills were green, and the temperature was a perfect 72F. Sarah couldn't have asked for a better day to have her wedding! The ceremony was held in a covered area near the chateau, with seating set up for 100-150 guests. After the ceremony, a pre-reception cocktail party was held in the courtyard area. After about an hour or so, the dinner reception was held under the giant palm tree. The food and service for the entire event were fantastic. From appetizers to main course to desserts, the food was well prepared and delicious. Service provided by the staff was friendly and attentive. There were a couple minor hitches during the reception, but they resolved them quickly. Chateau St. Jean is definitely worth checking out if you are in the area. As a non-drinker, I don't know enough about their wine to have an opinion on their quality, but I think you will really enjoy the serene setting.

I have enjoyed this offering at St Francis at least once a year and it never disappoints. The food is fresh, unique and delicious, the flavors accentuated by the wines. On this visit, the potato and Gruyère soup was a standout, as was the beet gnudi that was deeply flavorful with the mushroom sauce reduction that had great depth and heft. The service was attentive and friendly as always, with a lot of knowledge about the food, wines and region shared through the meal. Set in a beautiful room with a view of their vineyards, it's a lovely few hours. I highly recommend if you're looking for an experience in wine country.

The reds were a pinot noir and zinfandel, but neither really stuck to me. For the whites, it was a sauvignon blanc and chardonnay. The chardonnay was okay but the sauvignon blanc was my favorite out of all 4. Not only does it smell sweet and fruity, but it also tastes like it! I ended up buying a bottle of it to bring home ($35 if you're not a member). Our wine was paired with 12 spreads. All of them were delicious and some were even quite unique, like the sweet pea one! My favorites were the brie, carrot, and rhubarb spreads. Not really sure if I concluded on which spread paired the best with which wine, but they were nice snacks to munch on. If you're seated outdoors, you get a nice view of the vineyard as well as some mountains. There also looked to be some pedal powered trolley, which we saw a group doing but didn't do it ourselves.

There was a tasting menu that consisted of five wines. The two wines I enjoyed were the Checkerbloom Rosé, which after tasting became my favorite rosé, and Merlot Cuvee. During this visit I didn't purchase any wine because there was another winery we were visiting for a tasting menu. At that winery I preferred one of their red wines over the Merlot Cuvee from Deerfield. However I really loved the Checkerbloom Rosé. When I came home I ordered Checkerbloom Rosé online through Deerfield. I wasn't sure when I was going back to Deerfield. As I really like their one wine I wasn't driving to Deerfield just for the Checkerbloom Rosé. About the last couple of months I've been receiving emails from Deerfield Ranch Winery about the @Rose 2023 was soon to be sold out as it was selling for $10. I'm not going to order wine that I never tasted before. Before going to Deerfield I had to check online if the Checkerbloom Rosé was still available. Apparently it wasn't. Also the @Rose 2023 wasn't $10 anymore. On a hunch I decided to go to Deerfield. I went to Deerfield last week on a Sunday. As I entered the cave I went to the cash register. One of the workers Ben approached me. I asked him if @Rose 2023 was still $10. He answered yes. I also asked if the Checkerbloom Rosé was still available. He showed me the bottle. I decided to buy the Checkerbloom Rosé. Before buying I asked Ben if I could take a sip this rosé. It was sweet. Ben replied the @Rose 2023 is sweeter than the Checkerbloom Rosé, which is drier. I decided to buy three bottles of @Rose 2023 at $10 each. There are certain wineries that have specialties. For me during my two visits at Deerfield their rosés are better than from other wineries I've tasted.
