I am writing this review to reflect MY one experience with Pilot Freight delivery. We had ordered a bed from US-Mattress and were eagerly awating our new bed to be delivered by Pilot. I scheduled a Friday delivery to which they gave me a 3-7 PM delivery window. I received a call on Friday shortly after 1 PM from the driver. He asked if they could come by early and deliver our new king mattress sets. We were delighted as we had already moved our old king bedset outside and had also finished vaccuming and dusting the entire master bedroom. He said he could be at our home in 15 minutes. I set my timer and they arrived in exactly 15 minutes as the timer sounded. Even though the "contactless" delivery choice I had made stated that they would only place on porch or in garage, the gentlemen willingly placed the large heavy boxes right outside my master room back door that exits onto the back yard deck. Upon unpacking we found that the box springs and mattresses were in perfect condition, We assembled the bed and last night I had the best sleep I have had in a long time. Kudos for this Pilot Delivery team. They were awesome! read more

What's the point of a customer service phone number if no one answers? Also threshold delivery? They left my dresser in the driveway on a pallet. Signature required? Didn't even knock on my door or call, probably to avoid actually bringing in my dresser through the threshold. Trash company. My shipment was picked up on 5/21/2024 at 4 PM to ship from LA to Sparks NV it is now 6/3 and it is still in the Ontario Ca location and has not moved since it arrived. I have called everyday since 5/28 as their tracking portal has not been updated and still only shows as picked up. I have been told that it was on it's way each day and assured that it was going to be in Sacramento on 6/1/2024. The people on the phones lie right to your face as the shipment is still located in Ontario and hasn't moved. The longest it should take to get from LA to Sparks NV is 4 days not over 2 weeks. Do Not use this company to ship anything as they are not professional and their representatives will lie to you. read more

Was supposed to be delivered on 3/6. Had to call 3 different numbers to find out where the order is and been o. Instead of allowing delivery scheduling they just drop by midday unannounced, quickly call you and hang up and won't answer when you call back then leave a note saying "failed delivery" Attempted to schedule appointment with their "customer service" who arrogantly stated their email which says "Delivery up to 9pm" is wrong, only until 5pm which is hard for me due to a hectic work schedule. Lowe's apparently uses this horrible company for service. We paid for installation and haul away service. They left the box on the sidewalk in front of our home, didn't call or ring the doorbell to let us know it was there and when I called them to complain, the supervisor named Valeries told me matter-of-factly that "ringing the doorbell or calling at the time of delivery is a courtesy service". How about the installation and haul away that we paid for? Is receiving the service that we purchased also a courtesy service? And speaking of courtesy, their customer service is abysmal. The people that pick up the phone literally seem like they're being forced to answer your call against their will. Answering messages says "please hold after the call to take a customer survey." There's no survey after the call, they just hang up on you. I don't think anyone looks them up before using them because they are contracted with large chains, so we have no choice as to whether to use them or not. I can see why. Awful company. What a buch of losers! I ordered a shower door from Upland, CA Home Depot online on 4/1/24. On 4/4/24 it showed it was in transit in Irvine, CA, 43 miles away. Was due to arrive 4/8/24 then changed to 4/11. On delivery due date I called the company and asked what time today? Responded they missed the pickup at 8am and therefore will reschedule tomorrow. I cancelled the order and bought one off the shelf. The problem is you have no say so as to what freight company is used by the distributer of the product you purchased. Was told they are a division of Maersk. China!!! Save your self a headache and avoid this company if possible. read more

I'll go ahead and sum up my experience quickly: 1. You will need to stay on top of them, if you ever hope to have your package delivered by the estimated delivery date. They continuously reassure that someone will call you to schedule a delivery, but rest assured that someone will not. 2. Delivery window on the scheduled delivery date was set as BETWEEN 12-4 PM. This is important to people, because they need to know when to be home to accept the package. Thank God I decided against going to get breakfast beforehand, because they showed up at 10:49 in the morning, with no call in advance. 3. Leading me to my next point, they don't call to tell you they are on the way. They literally just show up. 4. Tracker is not updated in a timely manner by the driver. Remember to stay on top of them, because your package can sit in their facility for days, with no real reason as to why it isn't being delivered -- other than, ya know, laziness. Steer clear of the potential hassle if larger items are being shipped via this carrier. read more

Order online via the Sam's Club site. Was email notified a few days later that my order was at the local warehouse and would be shipping soon. That's been over a week now. Called the toll-free number, and was told I called too early, and to call back when the local warehouse opens at 8am. I called again and no answer, no voicemail option. When the call was eventually answered, they just hung up. Called again and again, same result, they hung up again and again. I already called Sam's and got a refund, For future reference, if I ever order from Sam's Club again, and Pilot (Maersk-owned) is the logistics company, I will immediately cancel my order. I don't know where to start... My wife ordered a vanity with Lowe's. We just thought having it delivered would be easier as she just got out of surgery and I'm at work when the store is open. We live in a small complex with 10 houses and it's a gated area (This detail has some importance) At our big surprise, Ceva attempted to deliver our package 2 days before the delivery date. They couldn't deliver the package because the gate was closed... We didn't receive any notification about the delivery... They tried again the next day and failed again to deliver the package. The gate was still closed. So the day our delivery was supposed to arrive when we checked if our order was on it's way we realized there was already 2 failed attempts to deliver it. That's where things get interesting. My wife calls and explains the situation to someone from Ceva, gives our information and asks if they can call for the next attempt... Btw they already had the information. The lady says no problem, the next day they picked up our package and failed again to deliver it... We live in a gated area. The pick-up is around 8 am with no window on when it will be delivered. it's a motorized gate which means we can't leave it open all day just because they might deliver it sometime between 8am to whenever their day is done... So now our package is going back to the place it comes from which gives us the only option to order it again and go pick it up to the store... I think Ceva should give their employees some phones or give them some training on how to use them. It would fix this kind of problem and prevent this situation. Ceva also has to understand that gated area can't keep their gate open all day just for them. Any other delivery company (Fedex, UPS, DHL, Amazon, etc...) calls us when there is a delivery so I don't get why they can't... People pay for the deliver... It would be only fair to do the job you are paid for... read more

Package was a week late and delivery wasn't even scheduled as promised. I seriously needed this delivery scheduled so I'd have some help here, but they instead dumped a $1200 treadmill in my yard and drove off. The tracking system is full of glitches and the delivery experience overall was lazy. We get it. It's the holidays. I didn't mind it was late. My issue was the poor customer service. Several times was told it was " in transit" but unable to locate. Arrived at DFW, where it sat for several weeks to be unloaded. Was told I'd receive call to schedule delivery. Instead, received call from unidentified number stating they were on the way and would be there in 20 minutes. Unfortunately, no one was home and the said they would leave it outside! It's almost difficult to comprehend how a company that is this completely incompetent is still somehow operating. I get the feeling no one would actually choose this company given other options, however I recently purchased a TV from an online retailer who, for whatever reason (cost I'm assuming), chooses to do business with these people. I purchased the TV on Sept. 24, and paid over $150 for shipping. Great. They say it's scheduled to arrive by Oct. 9th, which is a bit long in today's age of 2-day shipping, but no big deal. I receive confirmation and I'm told someone will contact me to arrange for home delivery. Great. I check on the tracking periodically as the days go by, and I see that it is showing on the retail store's website as having arrived at its final destination before ground delivery to my house. However, on Pilot's direct site it shows that it is still in transit. This is on Oct. 3rd. I anticipate someone getting in touch to schedule delivery within the next several days, however no one ever does. I keep checking the site for any updates. Nothing. However, on Oct. 7th I was finally able to schedule an appointment online for delivery on Oct. 9th between 3pm-7pm. I took that day off of work, had a buddy come by around 6pm to help me mount it, and waited. And waited. I never received any kind of phone call or email, and they never showed up. I called at around 6:35pm to see if the delivery was going as scheduled, and the employee, Steve, told me that unfortunately another location had "dropped the ball", which is interesting because none of the tracking information ever shows that my TV went to that particular location and that it was apparently sitting there since the 3rd for whatever reason. He couldn't explain why the system didn't say it was there, why they had allowed me to make a delivery appointment, or why no one had bothered to call and let me know that it wasn't happening. I spoke with the other location where my TV supposedly was hanging out, and the lady I spoke with (after giving me another customer's personally identifiable information because she swore she was talking to someone else...) did finally tell me she was able to locate my TV and it would be staged to go out the next morning, 10/10. Well I have since learned from good ol' Steve that trucks don't even go out on the weekends, so I'm not sure if there was miscommunication there or what. Perhaps she meant "the next morning..... we are here... which is Monday..." Anyway. On 10/10 I'm able to make yet another appointment for 10/13 between 3-7pm. Again I take that day off of work so I can be here to meet them. Today, 10/12, I give them a call to follow up as I now know they can't be trusted and the first person I speak to, Johanna, tells me that it's still in the other location and she'll give them a call to "see if they can put it on a truck" Well, yeah, if we could get it on a truck that'd be swell. She says she'll give me a call back in about 5-10 minutes. Great. After over an hour and a half of not getting that call, I give them a call back and get Steve again this time. He tells me that, good news, my TV is actually on a truck but he can't tell which one or where it is or when it will be there. I ask Steve how a company whose entire business is LOGISTICS could fail so miserably at keeping track of packages or keeping a deadline? How could you not know which truck my TV is on when surely there are some type of manifests? Could you at least tell me if it's arriving there today? No, apparently not. Even I can pull up Google Maps and get a very accurate ETA. I guess this particular shipping company hasn't figured out those basic elements. Could he tell me if I took the day off of work tomorrow again for nothing? He says delivery tomorrow "shouldn't be a problem" Well that sounds really reassuring, doesn't it? If I could give this a -10 I would. We have to use them twice as we ordered something from Walmart and both times Pilot screwed up. First time they left it in the rain at the wrong address and we had to track it down. They called to schedule a pick up and I informed them that later in the afternoon would be best as my husband will be home around that time, I told them to call me if anything so I could just open the garage door. They delivered the order at 11a which was way sooner than what scheduled. I spoke to Areceli who was the worst.. she was the one that scheduled my order the previous day. All she said was sorry and there is nothing she could do because they have 15 other deliveries. I told her what if no one is home and what if my package was stolen, she said their company is not liable for that, they only take a picture and deliver it. Yes the company is liable if you delivery drivers leave it where everyone can see it and when no one is there to get the package. Stupid idiot company. NEVER USE PILOT! read more

One star only b/c the guy who delivered was nice enough to wait until I got to my house. This company has ZERO communication. We ordered a large Samsung TV from Amazon and I guess they contracted the delivery to Pilot. The first time I had any inkling of this is when i listened to a voice mail from the delivery driver saying he missed me. No mention of when he'd be back. I called several times only to be directed to press a number, but never reaching a person. I left several messages and when I realized I was not going to get a call back I went to their website. Surprisingly they had an option to schedule the delivery online. I chose a day and a time window of 3p to 7p. No confirmation email, so was just hoping. This morning I left yet another message. Today (correct date) at 1pm...2 hours before my scheduled time, I had the presence of mind to pick up a call I didn't recognize. It was the delivery driver at my house (I wasn't home). I said please STAY THERE, I'll be there in 10 minutes! He did indeed wait for me and delivered the TV. Luckily i was close by, but had i been on the other side of town or didnt answer the call, I'd be SOL. I do not recommend this company at all, but I unfortunately did not have a choice in the matter.​ read more

So the people are lovely but I have only experienced issues with the actual logistics. Their automated messages mean nothing even if it gives a scheduled date. And they will tell you that on the phone so you always have to call. I have had two things shipped through them and while every person and driver was very pleasant it has resulted in multiple days off with no delivery. Once for believing the automatic scheduled appointment and once they gave me a day and time on the phone that they dont deliver to my area but didnt call me until the day of delivery. I think they are likely the cheapest option which is why companies use them but it seriously makes me reconsider buying from the company that uses them. read more

Never use Pilot Freight. They are incompetent. They are near impossible to contact and in my experience to they lied to me in every communication. I ordered a projector screen from a retailer on November 27th and their policy stated that I had 30 days to dispute or cancel the order. It was supposed to be delivered in 7-10 days. The retailer took 7 days to ship the product. After retrieving the tracking number from the retailer I discovered the package had made it to Pilot hub in Romulus, MI in a few days. As far as I can tell it never made it out of their hub. You spend hours on hold when you try to call them. When you e-mail them, they respond once to say thst their looking into it but it never amounts to anything. I finally got lucky enough to get a person on the phone, early on a Sunday morning. They gave me the number of a specialty agent. I received various stories. They claimed they knew nothing about it. They claimed it was lost. They said paperwork was just finished to send it to the next step in the shipping process but the next day I was told this paperwork still had to be started. I was told that it shipped to the wrong place. Finally, on December 24th I cancelled the order before my time to cancel ran out while everybody was closed over the holidays. Ordered roller blinds from Lowe's as a custom order from Bali. Pilot handled the shipping aspect of the order. Trying to find out where the package was after I was given a tracking number was a daily issue. The terminal that the blinds were to be delivered to for delivery was Ontario CA. Their website showed it delivered a week ago to Ontario but NOOO....it was actually in LA. The package sat in LA for 2 days until their Ontario location put a trace on it. Long story short, the package (156" long) was left at my front door on the sidewalk. No phone call 30 minutes before (the driver must have followed someone in the gate) and not even a ring on the doorbell. A neighbor notified me of the box laying out in the walkway. When I called, they rescheduled, but I had to commit to a FULL DAY when they may or may not deliver-- another day off work to receive an item for which THEY MESSED UP. They came to deliver the chair without warning - days after their tracking system said it'd be delivered, and fortunately, we had just gotten home 15 minutes earlier - otherwise, they'd have to take it back to their warehouse to try again. Pretty terrible. I'd go one star but whenever I called, they were always friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, it seemed that everything they said on the phone wasn't quite true. They basically tell you whatever needs to be said to get you off the phone in a happy manner. I had three experiences with Pilot and every single time they didn't come within the 4 hour window. Once they even came a couple hours after. It was insane, really. My item was originally damaged at some point in the journey, with the delivery person even saying yea, the box looks messed up but I'm sure it's fine. Well, it wasn't. And then I had to return it and then schedule a pickup of the damaged item. So I had to take off 3 days of work for their F-up. The third time, when they were picking up the return, they didn't ring my bell or have me sign anything or even let me know they were there. I saw them take the item though (I had taken it downstairs since they don't bring things further than the front door) and took a couple of photos to document. Then I get an email from the store 2 weeks later saying the item was never returned & I was being re-charged. Oy vey. This place is a nightmare. I actually won't be ordering from the store again and would strongly advise against Pilot Freight Services, as well. read more
