I was out of state already and hired a team to pack up my entire small home into a pod storage system. 4 months later, I hired this company (King Relocation) and it was worth EVERY PENNY. The company was able to accommodate my last minute move request and even move around dates and times to fit my schedule. They arrived on the dot and were very professional. They laid down moving carpets and took very good care of my items. Any items they were unsure of, they asked me where I would like them moved to. They very professionally mentioned that if they had been the ones to pack up my stuff, it would have been packed better, and I agree. They were nice about it, but I feel it was very warranted to notate; I wish I had used them for my entire move. They were very quick, efficient, took out my trash, and never shrugged or acted annoyed at the task which is HUGE for me. We moved both household goods and cars from one side of the country to another. The movers for the household goods were very professional and thorough. They packed everything nicely and labeled it accordingly. They took special stock of my valuable items and made sure they were handled with care. This goes the same with the delivery folks too. Shipping cars, on the other hand, was a headache. Their truck broke down in the middle of the country and repairs took almost a whole week, which delayed my car deliveries by that long. They were nice enough to provide rental cars in the meantime, which made things better. All in all, I would recommend. read more

I was moving from LA to San Diego. They gave me a time of arrival range of 8-10am and arrived at exactly 8am. I did not have large items to be moved but a lot of smaller items that needed to be packed as well as drawers with items already inside them. I also had a couple of TVs too. Everything was well packed and secured. They packed and moved everything into the truck quickly in about an hour. They brought everything into my new place quickly and nothing was broken. Our move went seamlessly from the planning to logistics and execution (from MA to CA). Our driver was so professional and the staff he worked with on the pick up and drop off locations did an amazing job. This is my third move using King, who was a preferred vendor thru my employer. While everything went exceptional the first two times and I had no complaints, this time I had a few bumps along the way. Packing was done thru S&M moving, who arrived on time but didn't have enough boxes for the TVs and had to bring it separate. Had makeshift boxes for the mattresses but were not clean and unfortunately noticed it later left my mattress stained which doesn't come out. Had to wait about a week for delivery which was by a King driver. When unloading this time my desk and closet organizer had broke, and cracked totes and smaller items. Best movers ever. I've always been only provided with 2 movers for my moves, who were always late and something always broke. With King this was the smoothest move! Communication was easy and consistent/punctual from the start of the coordination, the movers packed, loaded, unpacked more efficiently than I've ever had! This move ended up being over double what my friends in the same moving situation between states paid. I figured the price would reflect white glove service. Based on the brochures, I also expected them to handle a good deal of the packing. However, we really went (what we thought was overboard) in packing, leaving only one closet for them to pack and a handful of items in the garage. If we had not packed our entire two bedroom apartment before they arrived, there is no way they would have been done in the slotted day (or, until very very late) since moving the furniture alone took them about 5-6 hours. The subcontractors to move us out of our apartment were not great. They came late and without warning. There were two movers, when we really needed three (and I had expected the price reflected three). They really struggled as 2 people with some of the more awkward furniture. Upon arriving, the one mover immediately sat in my partner's chair for about 30 minutes until he said something (and this was not a needed break after moving heavy things, which would be completely fine, but the second he arrived). We did not find them to be gentle with our things, and overall the experience was stress inducing instead of stress relieving. We ended up having a damaged item we would find later. In cleaning out our garage, we found about several sterolite boxes of items to take--such as some dishware, old photos. Pretty minor items that were easily lifted and stored. I thought it would add perhaps 10 minutes of moving and maybe $100. The mover told us it would be another $900. We did still tip the movers. Since I am not in California, I will chalk this up to an issue in selecting qualified subcontractors on the east coast. The second issue was the delivery. They delivered to our storage unit about a week late and with not a great deal of notice on when the new delivery date would be. If we were living in a new house in the area, that would have been a week sleeping on the floor, calling out of work to stay home and meet them, etc. Thankfully, this was not our situation, but again, it was not the level of detail I had anticipated. I was relying on family to sign for the delivery since I was not local, and had to go back and forth a ton to schedule a date they might be able to deliver it. Again, stress inducing instead of stress relieving. I wish they had given me 2 potential dates a week a part at the beginning of the process and stuck to it, instead of ending up blowing past the original date with a nebulous actual date. After all that, the unloading process itself was actually seamless, those subcontractors were in a different state and very good. The one mover counted all the boxes for us to help my family members out and organized things neatly. We recently used this company for a long-distance move, and overall we're very happy with the experience -- especially the moving and packing service, which was excellent from start to finish. Sandra and Wesley were incredibly efficient, careful, and friendly. After the car arrived in Massachusetts, it sat there for five days. On day 3, the driver contacted us saying he could deliver that night, but it ended up being delayed another two days, finally arriving on the last day of the promised delivery window. Communication during this process was difficult -- both text and phone responses were slow. I also reached out to Mitch via email for help since we could save on rental car extension, but unfortunately never received a reply. That said, the car was delivered intact with no visible issues, and we're still grateful for that.
