Fun location! It was my first time here. Adding our name to the name list via Yelp was very easy and when we got there, we got seated right away. I was sad there was no airplane taking off, but it was still a good environment. Food came out very quickly after ordering. Our waitress was nice. I had the avocado salmon salad. Alright spot for me. The decor here is definitely the highlight with planes surrounding diners from wall to wall and up to the ceiling. This definitely creates an interesting atmosphere that I haven't really seen anywhere else, not even inside the restaurants at aviation museums while I've travelled. The dining room is huge, though very busy, and the service can be a bit spotty. The view outside the windows are interesting, as you don't typically get to see planes outside at most places where you dine. The prices are fair here with pretty big portion sizes and the menu is fairly extensive (though lots of items are really minor variations off others, and there's a limited number of options for vegetarians). The food for me was alright -- I found items such as the cream of potato soup, marinara, and spinach & three cheese calzone to be a bit underseasoned both in terms of salt and spices. The textures were also a bit indistinct, not particularly crispy, crunchy, smooth, or really any texture for the different items I tried. In terms of flavor though, the chicken fingers with waffle was the best savory item I tried but still not particularly special compared to other chicken and waffle type options I've had -- mostly because neither element was quite crisp/crunchy though there was a strong sweetness to the dish. The desserts I tried were also a bit forgettable -- home made flavor but I didn't particularly care for the preparation. Overall, an alright choice to eat at if you want to eat at an aviation themed restaurant. Well I finally got a chance to go to pilot Pete's because I kept seeing on my new place of work all you can eat fish fry Wednesdays and on Fridays. And I learned that it's not just for Lent but this all you can eat fish fry is a regular a special on Wednesday and Friday. Service was pretty good and delivering the fish fry in regards to the food the fish fry was good I was comparing it to Culver's fish dinner when they make cod because they use cod to make this fish right here at pilot Pete's. It had the crispiness of a traditional fish and chips fish fry however for some reason it didn't have as much flavor but it was still good. Cole slaw was also good. Tater tots were all so good I was trying to get away from French fries or chips as the British would say. Ambience is focused on private airplanes since why its name pilot Pete's and it's right by I think the DuPage airport which is more of a smaller airplanes like cessna's. I would come back I'm shocked that it was only $23 for all you can eat in this day and age where things are so expensive for buffet or any dish that goes over $20 especially if it's $30 for all you can eat buffets regardless of the ethnic or Western all you can eat. I will come back and ask recommendations if there's other dishes since this is a restaurant and I only came for the all you can eat fish fry that I saw that they posted by the parking lot. Interesting ambience with the seeing 747 passenger seats since they're focus on aviation and eating and dining. In regards to their hush puppies I would was not a big fan of hush puppies it was okay with the side. Pilot Pete's is a fun restaurant for adults and kids to visit! Located within the Schaumburg Regional Airport, the restaurant shows off a ton of airplane memorabilia, has windows into the airplane hangar, and has large windows to watch planes and helicopters take off and land outside. This is a sister restaurant to The Village and food offerings is extremely similar. While some menu items can be a bit pricey, the portions are shareable. I came out on a Friday as a group of three and we had no issue getting a table without a reservation. We all got the "Beach Retreat" cocktail on special which was a fruity, bright drink. For food, we started with the garlic cheese curds which were very tasty and only had a hint of garlic. For entrees, I split the "World Famous Chicken Fingers" with my partners. This filled us both up as it included (6) tenders and fries. My aunt got the pot roast sandwich which she noted was cooked well and the sauce had good flavor. Our waiter took our drink order but had no clue what beers were on tap my husband settled for water that should never be the case - waiter had no clue what craft beer was . All the food looked delicious lots of choices . We had potato skins for an appetizer very large definitely overcooked . The chicken tenders were highly recommend so one of us tried them all were good. The burger was just ok they didn't listen to our changes and came with everything on it . Also tried tacos which the bang bang I always yummy . We noticed it was basically just our server he might have just been too busy or just not a server that long or not trained much. Celebrating my sons birthday - he selected this establishment. Mainly because he had a dish that he loved last time. There were six of us and i called. they said they don't take reservations but i could use yelp to get on the wait list. we did and still ended up waiting 35 minutes. very disappointing. When my son went to order they had discontinued the dish that we went there for - again disappointing. My daughter in law ordered a wrap which she did not eat as it tasted off - so she ate her fries. I ordered cheese quesadilla and for the price it had so little cheese you could barely taste it. Our bill was $160 and we were all pretty underwhelmed by the experience. Everything about this place was just okay. The reviews online are misleading.. My burger was so charred I felt like I was eating the grill, chicken was dry and our waitress was so busy with an 8 person table that once we ordered we didn't see her until the end when she gave us our check. The margarita was strong but was very foamy on top - I've never experienced a margarita look so cringy lol The highlight of our meal was the kids mac and cheese which was very good (my son is picky). Just don't have high expectations when you go or maybe try different items then the hot chicken sandwich/burger. read more

The food is usually excellent and the service is 5 stars and the ambiance is relaxed, entertaining and seasonal! Our visit on 2.27.26 didn't meet our expectations, and while the entrees were excellent, the coke zero taps may need a good cleaning because the soda tasted moldy and we ordered the chocolate cake for dessert, but requested it to go. Usually the chocolate sauce comes in a to go cup, but it was so thick on the cake that the cake was mushy. Serve it on the side, it ruined the cake! And the flavors of the chocolates are conflcting IMHO! The cake alone is superb! I went to Pilot Pete's for my best friend's birthday last week. This has been her favorite restaurant since her and I were little, but safe to say, we won't be coming back. A hostess name, Judy, was so rude. She had an attitude the whole entire time she walked us to our table. She had an attitude to her coworkers as well, and as someone who used to be in the food industry, this is very shameful. Judy needs to learn basic manners. This experience totally ruined my best friend's mood, safe to say we won't be coming back until this hostess can learn to treat others the way she wants to be treated! I ate here for the second time with a group of friends. The restaurant is easy to get to, and has ample parking. I found it clean, and the service was friendly and capable. On this trip I really wanted to try the award winning chili, which is supposed to be good here. It was very good. I also had the $100.00 burger, which I would definitely suggest they rename, if they serve this same burger to everyone. It was wide, but flat and crumbly. In addition, it had zero seasoning. I mean zero. No flavor at all. This is is the only time in my life that I can recall having to add salt to a cheeseburger, in addition to the normal toppings. It didn't help much. Maybe it was a freak mess up. The only reason it gets three stars is because when I ate here about a year ago, I had their pot roast stroganoff which was pretty good. Visited on a Friday night, recommend using the Yelp waitlist feature to ensure you're in line before arriving. Not sure if it's every Friday but there was an all you can eat fish fry and it was busy! We didn't wait long to sit down and they were able to accommodate a table by the window so our kids could see some airplanes. The food was good and in really good portions! Found this hidden gem today. Great food, lots of options to choose from. If looking for a unique, casual, and fun place to enjoy a meal then this is the place to go. Great food portions that are worth the money paid. Another very strong positive is that they have amazing seafood dishes. Coconut shrimp are HUGE and they have an amazing batter. And the baked potato is gigantic and so tasty. The fried calamari is the best we have tasted anywhere (west coast to east coast). So fresh, and the batter is so light and flavorful, and it is so big, not that preboxed frozen tiny version you find in many central state restaurants. And the roast beef strogonoff, wow! My favorite is their Firecracker shrimp tacos- outstanding! I have mixed thoughts about Pilot Pete's. I was hoping that they had a good burger and I'm happy to say that the answer is "yes". The rest of the food and service? That was only ok. I will give it 3 stars because it was a good burger. First of all, this place is really cool! It's in a small regional airport and had big windows that looked out onto the runways. The decorations inside were all aviation and kind of fun! It was perfectly themed. However, the floor was a bit dirty and it looks like it's starting to show it's age. My buddy wanted to try the lobster salad nachos because they're known from TV. The presentation was good as there was meat, cheese, and peppers on each chip. However, I thought the lobster and the congealed cheese was a little gross. It was a good idea, but the taste wasn't there. I also got a French onion soup which was only ok. It was a bit bland. Luckily, I ended with the highlight of the meal which was The Danger Zone burger which was their $100 hamburger with onion strings, hot sauce, and garlic. That was actually quite good. I would come back for the burger. My Mai Tai was also pretty good! As for the service, it was ok. The guy was fine, but he disappeared for awhile. Also, instead of coming back with a pitcher of water to refill, he would bring out new glasses of water. It was just.....odd Will I be back? Maybe, but probably because my niece and nephews would want to come back. There are so many options in Schaumburg so this is likely a "one and done" for me. This is a fun restaurant to come and visit with children or out of town guest. If you have the time and the patience to wait for a window seat it's really worth it because you can see planes land and take off. Make sure you ask for a table by the window. We just wanted a booth so we didn't really care where we sat, there was no wait at all to be seated. The restaurant is decorated with airplanes hanging from the ceiling and other nostalgic airport themed decorations. The food is affordable and the portions are generous. My husband ordered the Country Fried Chicken and it was amazing, the breading was crispy and flavorful and the chicken was tender and perfectly cooked. This place is amazing! We were able to get close to the windows and the party room was empty so my daughter was able to see the planes. They also decorated the inside in aviation. Our waitress was amazing without being overbearing. The food wasn't bad at all. Got the garlic cheese curds which were delicious.
