    Chicken Kiev
    David M.

Usually come for dinner but decided to try dinner. I felt very rushed and like the waitress was hoping we would finish up so they can close. We got there 1 hour before they officially closed. It was a very uncomfortable feeling. She was doing the same to the other 2 tables that came in also. As for the food. I tried the Chicken kiev. It was good and tasted like what I make at home, but they put a gravy on top. I didn't think the gravy was necessary. The side of vegetables were soft like they were sitting for a long time. I think I will stick to going to breakfast only. They is what they do really good.

We love Maxfield's! My husband used to bring me here when we first started dating and even though we now live in Michigan it's the first place we come when we're back in Schaumburg. Dimitri (the owner) and his staff are so welcoming; the waitresses fantastic, and the busboys do a great job keeping the place clean. We love it here! Highly recommend the country fried steak, pancakes, or corned beef hash. But really, any breakfast item we've ever held has been fantastic.

I went to Maxfield's on a Sunday morning with my family! It's a classic, old-school, low-maintenance breakfast joint with cheap but tasty breakfast items. This place was POPPIN on a Sunday morning (prime time for breakfast restaurants) but it's a spacious place (also with lots of parking) so we got seated immediately. Our server was a nice older lady - the service here was wonderful. Everyone was so sweet and our waters were constantly filled! We all basically got omelettes - I got the chicken, tomato, mushroom and broccoli omelette, my mom got the vegetarian omelette, my dad got the corned beef hash omelette, and my sister got breakfast quesadillas. Our meals were good - nothing extraordinary but that's usually how it is at old-school diners/breakfast joints, ya know? It was still yummy enough for me to come back!! I also got a Cafe Vanilla coffee which was soooo good. Overall I had a good experience here and would come back!

Every once in a while you come across a place that feels like an extension of your family and home. For us, it's Maxfield's restaurant in Schaumburg. Upon finding out that Maxfield's is back open for takeout or delivery, I had to order the breakfast we've been missing for weeks. Dining here in the past, the service has always been super fast and served up exactly how we've ordered it, by friendly and attentive servers. My coffee cup (and heart) was always kept warm while eating at Maxfield's. And the owners and hosts are so caring no matter how busy it gets. They always make time to greet you and thank you on your way out the door. Today, I was greeted so warmly and thanked for being a customer. Both the woman who helped me and I were tearing up as I shared what Maxfield's means to me and the memories of meals shared with dear family and friends here. The quiet morning conversations, summer celebration meals, carnations on Mother's Day and so on. Maxfield's, thank you for being an anchor in our community and for providing delicious home-like food and a comforting place to visit. Thanks for opening and providing food in a safe way. See you again soon. #ThankfulThursday

A classic Greek diner, which is my favorite kind of food. Great menu and choices and a welcoming owner. I love the food too!

The cook at the omelette and carving station is top notch--he's very pleasant and efficient. My omelette which was chock full of fresh ingredients was cooked to perfection. The Prime Rib was a perfect rare and seasoned well. Their signature Parmesan Reggiano hash browns are a must have. The breakfast bread choices are fresh and very tasty. I'm not a big fan of cocktail sauce with shrimp, I make an exception for theirs. It is obviously homemade and has just the right amount of kick to it. The staff is courteous and efficient. The (female) manager was constantly on the go keeping an eye on the entire operation. The entire premises is immaculate, the bathrooms are very clean and fresh smelling. A friend took me to a buffet at one of their big name competitors--that place was way overpriced and the food wasn't as good. The server informed me that they were out of more than 70% of the beer listed on the beer menu. If that wasn't bad enough, it took our server about 15 minutes to bring the flight. The first time I sat at the bar and had a Caesar salad with it crouton and with the NY strip medium rare on top. The romaine lettuce was fresh. The white anchovies were almost missed as they were hiding to one side. The steak had a lot of flavor and was cooked perfectly. The surprise was how well the pickled onions on top of it complimented the salad! The second time I sat at a table and had a burger. It was delicious!! I requested extra lettuce and not sure that happened. But the burger was cooked to perfection. I had the side salad instead of fries which was huge. Dressing was a little boring but it would be hard to outshine the burger. Service was good.

The door county mustard sauce was good but there was hardly any on it . The pickled onion was delicious but there was a scarce amount and the rainbow potatoes were burnt beyond repair . The lemon ricotta pancakes were dry and the blueberry mound on top was goop . Our server was pleasant but didn't come check in on us . I told her the short rib was dry and she didn't acknowledge.

If you're a beer drinker, they have a massive selection on tap (about 90 taps--and no, that's not a typo!). They also have a large patio that looks like a great spot when the weather is nice. Inside, there's a good mix of low-tops, high-tops, banquettes, and booths. All the tabletops feature copper tops with wood trim, and exposure to water and food over time has given each table a unique patina. We arrived right as they were switching over from the brunch menu to dinner, and the staff made us feel very welcome. What We Ordered: Smoked Brisket Reuben Eggrolls: We ordered these special eggrolls for the table. My friend has a shellfish allergy, and since many traditional eggrolls contain shrimp, he was excited to try these. He said they were the best eggrolls he's ever had (though he admitted he doesn't eat them often!). He paired it with a Guinness Zero non-alcoholic draught and was amazed by how close it tasted to the original. Fish Tacos ($19): Recommended by another reviewer, these come with three cornmeal-battered, fried Mahi-Mahi tacos topped with cilantro lime cream and fresh micro cilantro. They were crispy and very tasty. If you're usually sensitive to cilantro, you might still enjoy these--I mostly tasted a bright, lemony freshness rather than heavy cilantro. Sides (Broccoli Rabe & Asparagus): I substituted chips for a vegetable side. Due to a mix-up in the kitchen, I got to try the broccoli rabe first, though it turned out way too spicy for anyone at our table. My actual order was asparagus--my absolute favorite--but it was a bit disappointing, as the bottom half of each stalk was woody and fibrous. Fish & Chips ($21.50): My friend went with this traditional entry. At that price point, he was expecting three fillets, but he couldn't finish the two that were served and took some home. Overall, a solid entrée. Classic Breakfast ($15.50): My husband got this from the brunch menu. He was very pleased with the scrambled eggs, potatoes, thick-sliced bacon, and sausage links. Overall, a solid visit with great variety on the menu!
