So I just started writing reviews within the last week and half to two weeks ago. If I wrote a review about this restruant from the last time I got food from here I would of gave a 3 and half to a 4, but today I had a change of heart. Today was the first time I ate there with my fiance and her parents. The staff was great, they actually cared about how our experience was and the food was great. Was in the area today and happened upon Pimmy's when I was looking for Thai food for lunch. I was a little concerned when I pulled up but was pleasantly surprised when I entered. It was a nice bright restaurant with plenty of seating, although I'd already decided that I was ordering my meal to go. I had Pad Thai with tofu. It was very good and the portion size was large. This is the best Thai food in Kenosha period. I have had every curry that they offer as well as the duck. My wife usually goes with the pad thai and always is very satisfied. Just a tip if you ask for five stars be ready to sweat!! I am one who likes things hot, but man when I ate the jungle curry that was a five star heat rating my mouth was on fire- but the funny thing was the flavor didn't get lost with the heat. In retrospect I probably should not have eaten the whole dish, but it was too good to let go home to the fridge. My digestive system was not happy with me for the next day, but it was very worth it. read more

The fried potstickers were flavorful and tender, I ordered a chicken pad Thai and their spice game is on point.....although next time I'll order a three instead of a four.....whew! I recently braved this establishment when I was on vacation over the weekend. I went there on November 1, 2014. I am a vegetarian and was assured that they had vegetarian options, as I called in advance. When I arrived myself and my group informed the waiter that I was a vegetarian and cannot eat meat as I have an allergy to it. If you are vegetarian or vegan avoid at all costs! The decor is to be expected from a restaurant in a strip mall. There isn't anything impressive. The only thing that warrants mention is that tea we ordered arrived in a small cute elephant tea pot. The decor wasn't anything particularly special nor was it indicative of a Thai restaurant. The service was overall slow. There were four of us, and they couldn't manage to coordinate our meals arriving at the same time. Two arrived together, there was a four minute delay for the third meal and mine arrived a full ten minutes after that. Our server was friendly, however so I suppose it wasn't all bad. The food was overall poor, barring my catastrophe. Things that were not intended to be a soup may as well have been a soup. Everything was very sweet, and the spice three left a lot to be desired. Many of the vegetables were not properly cooked. I ordered Pad Thai. It was sickeningly sweet. If that was not bad enough, most of of the egg and several of the vegetables were burnt. I opted to try to eat it anyway, as the server didn't return to ask about how the meal was. It was after I decided that I could consume no more of their burnt offering that I found a chunk of beef in it. I mentioned this to the server, along with my desire not to consume any further food from their establishment as they couldn't manage NOT to cross contaminate my food. The server apologized and said they would take it off. We went to pay, because they didn't actually provide us with a receipt until afterwards. It was glancing over this receipt we found that we had been charged for the Pad Thai which I had barely consumed any of (even though it was burnt AND there was meat in it). When they were confronted with this, they did not want to refund the meal. Not only that, but they had the gall to go so far as to state that it wasn't beef, it was a piece of dried onion. First of all, their Pad Thai does not contain dried onion. Secondly, trust me, I've eaten enough dried onion to know the difference between a piece of dried onion and a chunk of beef. Enter at your own risk, and be prepared to be lied to. Certainly not what I'd consider an appealing exemplar of Thai cuisine, or even passable. read more

I'm a big Fan of Pimmy's. The Chicken Panang Curry is outstanding and a Thai Iced Tea rounds out the meal nicely. Mah belly is always happy when I leave. The only thing that I don't care for is the cramped quarters. Pimmy's is housed in a former coffee shop and it feels like you're sitting on top of everyone else. On our last visit, my dinner companion surprised me with Durian Pudding. I experienced Durian once in Indonesia and was apparently traumatized so much I blocked it out. Thinking it would be better this time around, I dug in. It was like Dante's Seven Levels of Hell. Durian has an identity crisis, all of which approximate something like a rotting toilet. If you're an adventurous foodie, give it a whirl. If not, stick with the rice pudding. But if you do try it, don't blame Pimmy's...it's just the fruit. read more

Delicious, fresh and affordable food with friendly attentive service. My partner got the basil beef, and I had the pad Thai. Both were amazing! His basil beef was brim my with fresh vegetables, including string beans and bell peppers. My pad Thai was seasoned well but not too sweet, and the portion was huge! We will be back. read more

My girlfriend and I came to Pimmy's for my first visit. She had the yellow curry and I ordered garlic noodles with chicken. I really loved my dish. You can also customize the level of spiciness of your food, 1-5 with 5 being the highest. I chose level 2 which was moderately spicy but did not overpower the flavor. I tried her curry too and was it great as well. Staff is pretty nice as well. Will most likely visit again. read more

I'm new to the area and had a craving for Thai. I wasn't feeling well, so I order 'to-go'. My intention was to buy enough to have for two meals, but this was one of the best Thai food dinners I've had that I ended up eating it all! I couldn't stop myself. The Green Curry entree was divine. First of all I have to say how excited I am to have a viable Thai option in the Kenosha/Racine area. We moved here from Jacksonville Florida a year ago and hadn't yet found a good Asian restaurant in our immediate area. We have had to drive to Milwaukee or take the train to Chicago for anything worth a damn. So, in a long-winded summary, I'm glad there's a Thai option here! To start off, we ordered take out and I called it in way ahead of time because of the warnings I saw in other reviews. It was ready when I got there and still piping hot, so they listened to the time I wanted it and fired it accordingly. I ordered the green curry with chicken (and I had them add green beans and baby corn because that's how I always order it) and my husband ordered the basil duck. Green Curry with Chicken - I thought the spice level for a "0" was a little higher than normal, but to be fair she did warn me that there is a certain level of spice in the curry regardless. I could handle it though, it wasn't "Thai spicy." There was a good amount of chicken and broth, the veggies were sparse, though - except the baby corn and bamboo shoots (which is OK because those are my favorite anyway...lol) but I could have definitely used some more bell peppers and green beans. The broth was a little lighter in color than green curry normally is, but it tasted great just the same. The portion was more comparable to a lunch size rather than a dinner (when thinking of traditional Asian restaurant portion size) so I honestly ate it all, when I normally save half. Overall - I would order this again. Great value and good food. Basil Duck - According to my husband the dish was too spicy (which could have been my fault because I got it at a 3 based on what people said about the spice scale on Yelp), light portion of duck compared to dishes we've paid a few more dollars for, the duck was soggy and not crispy as expected (as though it was a stir fry or boil rather than fried). He said the flavor was good, though as far as the overall dish - just could have used a bigger portion for the price. Compared to Milwaukee Thai restaurants, this definitely fell short. Said he would probably not order this again, but would try a different dish at the restaurant. I did not encounter any slow service, nor did the server have any problems with the POS machine. They do have an iPad POS which is trendy and fun, but they do seem to malfunction from time to time (I know from experience) and tend to be a little temperamental, so I would give them a break while they deal with learning the sensitivity of that system. I thought the ambiance was very nice considering what used to be in that building. It used to be a coffee shop (which I LOVED! RIP Bigby's!) that seemed to be kind of eclectic and they made it look a little more uniform as well as made good use of the weird shape of the dining room and small space. The servers were very sweet both on the phone and in person, even though she got a little confused with my order modifications, it came out right and that's what matters. It was not overly crowded, but it was a Thursday at 7pm. I'm excited to try this place again and dig into the Pad Thai! I will write again once we have a sit-down experience. UPDATE: Ordered to-go again after moving all day. When I arrived, I was told it wasn't quite ready and to wait. When I first walked in the one server asked me if I had JUST called - I told her I called about 20 minutes before I got there and she seemed bewildered. After sitting in the waiting area for 30 minutes, I was told the order was almost ready. Then, another woman walked in with the same name... and they realized that my order had been sitting on the counter that entire time. I was angry and I let it show... the server had been sitting in a chair next to my completed order the entire time and never bothered to glance over and see what the name was. Then, despite their mistake and how angry I was, I was still asked to pay for it, but she said she "won't charge me for my extra vegetables.." which turned out to be $1. I'm sorry, but when you make a mistake like THAT - you comp the food. Period! Or at least offer to give their next order free or SOMETHING. You don't give them $1 ... I was beyond angry. YET - we still returned again to sit down and eat. The same server (short Hispanic woman) gave me the look of death when I walked in, came up to our table slowly and then proceeded to hand us off to the other server available. I was greatful for that as she was VERY sweet (tall blonde) and took great care of us! But I was made to feel extremely uncomfortable by the other server who darted glances at me the entire time. If you ask me, she needs to find another job out of the service industry. The second time I was there she was behind the counter bad-mouthing some guests from earlier in the day as well! Beautiful presentation for the food! The carrot rose was something I'd expect to see in a 5 star restaurant. The spice was right on and exactly what I expected based on 4 stars for heat. The service wasn't extremely fast, but the food was worth the wait. You could tell that each order was carefully prepared and presented to each diner. The servers were very friendly and attentive. My only criticism was I felt our table was a little too close to the next table. This place is worth a try! read more

Best Thai good I ever have, pad thai with authentic sauce with Tamarine , I can tell this is real thai food , also all the stir fried and curry so delicious. My favorite is papaya salad so healthy and tasty , All the staff and the owner are friendly and polite and able to answer all your questions if you never have thai food before . I got Chicken Pad Thai here and it was real good and a bit different. It had Tofu in it which was real good and also came with a side of chili sauce (which also was good) I ordered for pick up which I was told 10 mins it would be ready. I was on the way there and they called me to let me know it was ready - which was nice.. Good friendly service and healthy Pad Thai will definitely have me going back for more. We went to Pimmie's last night on the recommendation of friends. We loved it. My wife's pad se ew and my red devil curry were really good. But my daughter's garlic noodles were FANTASTIC. This review is for take-out, which by the way was prompt and delicious! It was ready in ten minutes! I had the Pad Thai with shrimp. It came with both tofu and shrimp. I assume the tofu is standard. I also ordered extra peanut sauce which really bumped up the taste. I wasn't asked about heat level preference so I was worried it may be way too spicy based on some other reviews here, but the spicy sauce came in a separate container so the dish itself wasn't spicy at all before adding it. I will admit that this is the first time I've ever had Thai food so I have nothing to compare it to, but I really enjoyed what I received from this establishment. read more

Pretty good. Probably comparable to the now-closed Thai Gourmet, but less expensive. They still have some growing pains to deal with (Paying my check at the counter took 5 minutes because of their apparently new/complicated POS system). Food: 3/5. While I'm sure most people will say it's a stupid, nitpicky complaint, the food is lacking in the color green. A little basil or cilantro makes things look so much better/fresher. A bowl of brown Pad Thai is pretty uninteresting. And no bean sprouts? I ordered my Panang beef curry a 5 on the 1-5 spice-o-meter and it was about a 2. The beef salad appetizer was far hotter and we ordered it with no spice. Read the tickets, people. Both dishes were good, but not great. The good thing is that the place has only been open for a few weeks and is bound to improve. Our server was great, though our 4 entrees came out at different times. Three, then the fourth one 5 minutes later. Not the server's fault, but a wrinkle that needs to be ironed out. Stumbled on this thai place. Looks to be pretty new. Overall, solid option with some kinks to work out. Staff friendly and hustling, and probably could have used another server or busser. Had the combo app with a small taste of most apps on the menu. Each was fine but not outstanding. I had the pad thai. Spice level was spot on as ordered. Flavor was ok, but bland. Tip - spend a buck for a side of peanut sauce and mix in. Much better. Better half had the pad see ew (sp?) Fat noodles. Those were very good. Overall, I won't add to my regular rotation but glad to stop again when in area. With the effort they seem to be making I would assume they will improve with time and experience. Sticky Rice in Racine is still the gold standard in SE WI in my opinion. Give this place a shot. read more

The horrible thing is that my friend I tried this place with is allergic to meat. Somehow a piece of beef ended up on her plate. She noticed this a few bites in. Told the server who then said they would talk with the chef. After about 5 minutes the server came out and said the chef was on break. At that point we just asked for the check and was ready to leave. We where a bit dismayed as they insisted we pay for the vegan meal ( that she never ate because of a piece of meat). Terrible experience today. 2 weeks ago I checked in person with the chef who said there would be no problem accommodating a vegan diet. She could just switch out the sauce. So we ordered. Waitress came back said it would take at least 30 minutes to make a dish and there was nothing that did not have fish sauce in it- it's all premade. So we said ok. Then they were out of spring rolls. After a loud conversation in the kitchen the waitress then came back and said they would not be able to serve us because it would inconvenience the other diners- even the ones that might come in 2 hours (7-8pm). "We've been getting a "flow" about that time." Obviously they did not want our business tonight, nor the group I had coming on Wednesday. I will never go back there again and discourage anyone else from doing so. read more

This place has a lot of potential. It's a casual...and I mean casual restaurant in the old Biggby Coffee place. Not much done in the way of renovations. The server we had seems to be the one most others are complaining about. She was lethargic, and seemed very uninterested in anything that was going on. As for the food: -Crab Rangoon - very good. Served hot and cooked perfectly. -Egg Rolls - good. Small portion, served with the same sauce as the rangoon. -Spicy crazy noodles w/shrimp - fantastic! Really enjoyed my entree. Good sized shrimp that seemed fresh, not frozen. Ordered it 3 hot on a scale of 1-5...will go 4 next time. Don't get me wrong, it was spicy, but not really spicy like I like. -Yellow Curry: - wife had this and really enjoyed it. Would order it again...pretty generous portion as well., Will definitely go back for take out or a quick meal on the go. Only visited once but food was amazing. It was empty in there at weekday lunch and we had to wait too long for food. The wait staff didn't seem to know or understand the menu when questions were asked. I chalk it up to new wait staff at a brand new restaurant. It is exactly what Kenosha needs having no thai restaurants but they need to kick it up and get it together, I will be back for more of that red curry! read more
