Tomatillo: wall decor
Rosie A.

Stopped by this evening and opted for a burrito. Cost is $11.95 and they charge extra for guacamole so total was a bit over $15. Service was very slow and portion was pretty decent. However, taste was lacking. Being Mexican it is easy to spot good food and this isn't it. Flavor is lacking and I would rather have a flavorful portion that is smaller than a huge portion that bombs! Unfortunately and sadly I would not return. Came in because the reviews were high on Yelp but this place just does not cut it for my family.

vegan tacos too! so good!

VEGAN OPTIONS! SO FRIENDLY! SO GOOD! VEGAN OPTIONS 3 different street taco options and they're so good! Each vegan order is fresh made just for you! SERVICE - OUTSTANDING! I think this is a family owned biz with everyone helping out! Everyone is so nice and committed to your positive experience! HOW TO ORDER Street tacos are built like Chipotle/Subway style :) Everything else is straight forward. AMBIANCE Really small dining area - not a spot for anything more than a very casual outing with 1 or 2 friends. Take it to go and eat across the street overlooking the ocean! All orders can be made to go! Enjoy!! :)

Sorry, but this place was just a no. Their plant-based options was not good. They should just stick to their regular menu and remove their "vegan" options. Found this place off Yelp and drove all the up here. It was our first time there and it's a quick to-go type of mom and pop joint. You order as you go--pick and point what you want built. The line was long and got pretty busy for a small place perhaps because it's the only Mexican restaurant in the area. They need to be more clear on their menu on what type of stuff they put in it. It just says "vegan Al pastor" tacos WHICH IS JUST MUSHROOMS. Should just put what it is rather than naming it Al pastor. I guess this is their version which was odd. We tried to let them know we didn't know it was mushrooms as we don't eat mushrooms if they can kindly please change it to soy chorizo and the cook hesitated and wasn't going to change it. He finally agreed to make a new one--WE RETURNED the original order that came out and they ended up throwing it away. However, they charged us anyway for additional charges to compensate or offset the cost or difference, which was fine. It was only $5. However, it was petty. As a new customer we told the cook it was our first time, and we want a good experience and become returning customers if they can help us with it. After the hesitation and finally changing the order, the $5 charge was not a pleasant experience after the whole ordeal. I think the charge was not worth losing a potential returning customer that would continue to patron the business. Although they did change the order--we will not be returning. There's also a charge for "SPECIAL OF THE DAY" whatever that is that wasn't mentioned and we don't know what that was on the receipt didn't see it until after we left. Make sure to double check what they charge here because they mark them as misc items. They're so busy perhaps no time to pay more attention to the clean the restaurant. The tables were extremely sticky and the chairs were very dirty, stained, with food and sweat. They also did not smile and was not quite friendly. Need to greet customers and thank the customers.

Had their breakfast burrito! Very good! Authentic Mexican food! Cute decor! You get to build your own burrito, had some rice and beans added to my egg, potato, cheese burrito with diced raw onions/ cilantro mix and had salsa, chipotle mayo and sour cream on the side. Definitely coming back!

3 Tacos and horchata

It's so cute first of all. Lovely friendly service. The barbacoa tacos were amaaaazing The horchata was a little too sweet for me.. but everything else was 10/10 and prices were very reasonable in this economy.

Vegan al pastor burrito

Today was my first time ordering from this restaurant. I ordered a vegan al pastor burrito for myself and a vegan hibiscus burrito for my mom. Good: I had it delivered to the house. It came pretty quick. The burritos were quite large and very well-filled! Felt like I was getting my money's worth with the size. My vegan al pastor didn't taste like fake meat, which I was worried about, it was just made from mushrooms so that was good. They also added a few chips into the order so that was a nice little addition. Questionable: my mom's hibiscus burrito tasted.. sandy? It felt like the lettuce or hibiscus wasn't washed properly and dirt was still on it. She couldn't even finish it because of how grainy it tasted. I tried one bite and couldn't eat it either. Also the hibiscus was very hard to bite and chew, so it didn't feel cooked enough either. Not sure how one burrito turned out great while the other felt questionable. Overall, it was still a good first experience, and I will probably be back, but hoping the company can rectify my mom's bad experience!

I made a reservation online before because other reviews recommended it and I'm glad I did. There was a wait when we arrived around 6pm. The staff were very welcoming when we arrived. I ordered a double skinny margarita and it was very good. Maybe one of the best margs I've had in a while. My friend and I split the combination fajitas for two and it didn't disappoint. It comes with chicken, steak and shrimp. There was a ton of flavor. We both got a side of rice and beans which was a bonus. It is a lot of food so you definitely get your bang for your buck. When the craving hits, it's always tacos!…read more I stopped by Tacos El Goloso on PCH and ordered a mix of street tacos (carnitas and al pastor) along with the tacos dorados de birria. I've been here before, and the birria tacos were exactly what I needed for a late-night craving. Crispy on the outside with a good amount of filling and strong flavor - they really hit the spot. I ended up having four of them. The consomé on the side was really good too - rich and flavorful, almost something I could've just had on its own. The street tacos were solid. The carnitas had that tender, slightly crisp texture, and the al pastor added a bit more seasoning and contrast. Nothing overcomplicated, just straightforward and satisfying. Service was friendly, and the setup is quick and casual. In the South Bay where places tend to close early, it was nice that they were open until around 10pm. Overall, this is a no-frills taco spot where the focus is on the food. Easy choice when you're in the mood for tacos.

I got the birria plate (3 tacos with cheese, consomé, chips, salsas, etc.) and it was a full 10/10. Everything was balanced, flavorful, and authentic. Horchata was on point too. If I'm ever in the area craving Mexican food, I'm coming straight here -- no question. And they had the basketball game on, perfect. Super fast service by the way!

Everything tasted incredibly fresh and perfectly seasoned. We ordered the carne asada and carnitas, and both were amazing. The meat was tender, flavorful, and not fatty at all just perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. My daughter had the bean and cheese burrito with rice and beans and loved it too. They bring out three different salsas with the chips, and each one had its own unique flavor. You can tell the chips are house-made because they're fresh, crisp, and just really good. Some Mexican restaurants can make things overly salty, but everything here tasted balanced and fresh. I also had a Paloma and it was made perfectly. Before we left we decided to try the churros and I'm so glad we did. They were filled with this amazing cream and came with a caramel sauce for dipping. I'm not usually a big dessert person, but these were seriously incredible. Great location, great service, amazing food, and everything tasted fresh and well made. We will definitely be back!

Service was very friendly and attentive and we were promptly seated and served fresh chips along with a trio of salsas which were fresh and had the perfect levels of spice. My son had the kids enchilada and enjoyed his meal. I ordered 3 tacos from the à la carte menu. The chicken was fine but the fish and shrimp were undercooked and I couldn't eat them, which is why I deducted the one star. The other deduction was for the underwhelming flavors in the meals themselves. Usually when a Mexican restaurant had amazing salsa, the same vibe carries through with the entrees , but unfortunately it wasn't my experience. I would probably try once more and edit my review based on a second experience.

There's street parking everywhere, though you may need to hunt for it a bit during rush hours. Vida has both indoor and outdoor seating, I personally would recommend the outdoor area with the sunny weather we've been having, as the indoor area doesn't really have AC from what I could tell. Regardless, the place has a great vibe. Service was awesome, our server was prompt and checked up on us throughout the meal, and everything came very quick. On the food front, their chips and salsa are great, and I'm a fan of their guacamole. I got the 2 taco lunch special with an asada, a cod fish taco, and a side Caesar (you can also do rice and beans if you want instead). The fish taco was excellent, and the carne asada was pretty good (it was a bit on the dry side because of how crispy the meat was, but it was still tasty). The salad was also good too, though slightly overdressed. Overall, this is a great spot for lunch or an early dinner, and I absolutely recommend checking it out. I'm definitely going to come back if I'm in the area.
