We recently had our pool refinished with new gel coating and new tile added. The process took much…read morelonger than we expected. Company estimate indicated a 3 day process. Regrettably the work lasted over 3 weeks. Technician would work only 1 to 2 hours each time he showed up. The new fiberglass pool finish is yellowing and the expensive pool tile we used was cut incorrectly and there is now black mold growing behind the tile. The tile has a noticeable curve or dip along the shallow end approaching the stairs. Dark brown sludge marks or drip marks are noticeable along then top lip of the pool. So far, no amount of scrubbing seems to clean the drip stains along the lip. In Aug 2023 we had the pool inspected and they found that one of the valves was forced open fracturing the discharge nozzle causing a substantial leak. Stephanie, the owner has promised on several occasions that Jason will come out and take a look. It's been several weeks with multiple excuses and no call backs to set up an appointment. We invested thousands of dollars on a new coating, new tile, new heater, and change over to salt water and the pool is in worse condition then when Pheonix Pools initially arrived. Recap: poor craftsmanship on tile install, new gel coat yellowing in less than 6 months, pool leak due to fracture in discharge nozzle, drip stains along lip of the pool, mold growing behind tile. From the lead to the installation to Gerald now working for over a year in this pool weekly, I cannot stress how amazing my pool looks and feels. The ability to have the same technician with this type of knowledge day after day and year after year - speaks to how special this company must 1) treat its employees/contractors; and 2) treat the home owners. Gerald is one of the family and while the substitutes ( eg. if he is unavailable or breaks his arm) did a great job- they cannot compete with his care and respect.

Then we started noticing a large amount of rust stains along our tile that weren't coming out so we finally broke down and decided to make a call to these guys and the owner/tech comes out the same day and 20 minutes later our 'rust stains' (it was actually algae) were gone. I was frustrated with my prior pool service and excited to read about the exceptional service experience by others. I was satisfied with my service at first but became increasingly frustrated as my pool was in a near-constant state of green from algae. I had to call Grand Slam on several occasions. They were always apologetic but not able to address the algae problem. They have been difficult to contact as they don't return phone calls timely. I was very disappointed with their service.
