EVERY SINGLE THING about this inn is FABULOUS! We loved our stay there in every way. Room very nice and comfortable. The kitchenette was fully stocked with more than we expected. Not to mention anytime you ran out of something you just had to request more. Property was beautiful! It really is 5 star without the price of the 5 star resorts right there in Wailea. We were able to enjoy ocean views right from our balcony on the 2nd floor, as well as the beautiful tropical grounds and pool below with a putting green and so many tropical birds to watch. We were able to Uber all over Wailea and Kihei for very little and used our rental for longer drives. Every time we used the pool, which is so beautiful and tropical, we were the only ones there. No people, no kids screaming. It was all ours to float and relax. We were also able to Uber the the Four Seasons in a couple of minutes to use the Wailea beach or walk the path to all the resorts, stopping at each to eat or drink, which we did frequently. There is nothing I can say that is negative in any way! We highly recommend and desperately want to go back! If only it wasn't so far away. read more

This was the first place we stayed on our trip to Maui and it exceeded our expectations! Angie and Ty were great hosts and the property is very charming and well maintained. We loved having breakfast stocked in our refrigerator so we could enjoy it at our preferred time. The Inn feels very private and quiet, but you're also very close to beaches, restaurants, and the highway so it's very convenient. I also appreciated having access to beach towels, umbrellas and boogie boards so we didn't have to rent/but them. We can't wait to stay here again on our next trip to Maui! read more

The Pineapple Inn is simply the best place I've ever stayed. The room (and entire property) was so clean, comfortable, relaxing, and inviting - and the beautiful location in Kihei goes without saying! This is a great place to stay. Mark and Steve always look after their guests. From filling our refrigerator with snacks and breakfast items when our flight was delayed, to making sure we had what we needed to make it through back to back hurricanes. During Covid we were able to adjust our schedules when we didn't feel comfortable visiting the islands. We have stayed with them many times over the years and never been disappointed. Paradise! If you want to enjoy the beauty of this island without the same old same old big box hotel with 1,200 rooms that all look the same and charge you extra for an ocean view....come here! The cottages are lovely and clean, so clean. I came down with a cold/flu type thing and spent some time inside during our holiday and I have to say I would have been clawing at the walls in a standard hotel but here I feel as comfortable as if I were at home. I loved the breakfast treats and the impeccable grounds. The owners/hosts are hospitable and you can tell the pride they take in their business. I know why they named it The Pineapple Inn. Not because pineapples are abundant in Hawaii but because it is the traditional symbol of "Welcome." Perfect name for a perfect place. read more

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Pineapple Inn in south Maui for five days and had a wonderful time. The rates were reasonable. We don't really need alot of hand-holding when we travel but we do want a clean, cozy room sleep in and the Pineapple Inn delivered. Our room included a kitchenette along with fresh fruit, kona coffee, juice, bagels and muffins. We ate breakfast on our lanai and watched the sunrise every morning. The garden and landscaping of the property was professional and amazing. Also on the property are a saline swimming pool and a hot tub with a nice view. The whole property was quiet and we were never disturbed by others during our stay. We would definitely come back and stay here again. Check out the site for pictures of the place. I am not going to lie I was initially a little apprehensive about a B and B in Maui, I am a bit of a hotel snob and was already planning to do our pool days at a resort. However, we wanted something different for the remainder of our trip that was a bit more local. This was it!!! This place is absolutely amazing!! Mark and Steve the owners do an amazing job with the place. The grounds are beautiful, the rooms clean, the beds comfortable. We stayed upstairs and had an absolutely stunning ocean view. The rooms have a kitchenette that they stock with breakfast and goodies. When we would run into Mark and Steve they would stop to chat see how our stay is going and give us local advice, best places to eat or snorkel. Overall an amazing experience if you are looking for something a little different in Maui stay here you will not be dissapointed. read more

My daughter and I wanted a quiet retreat in Maui after a week cruising the islands and at the cottage at Pineapple Inn we found heaven on earth. Located in the Maui Meadows neighborhood, the Inn has a main building with four rooms and the separate cottage with two bedrooms, full-size, fully-stocked kitchen, and a private deck with gas grill. The cottage is spotless and perfectly furnished. But that's only the beginning! A short walk through lush gardens led to the laundry ($1 W/D) and pool with grill, fridge, ice machine, and sink. We always had the pool to ourselves; there are only four other rooms and we rarely saw other guests. Staying here is like being on an episode of Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous! We found it hard to leave the PI but being minutes from great beaches, one must leave at some point! We were delighted to find a store of beach chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, ice chests, and pretty much any beach toy you can imagine (note your economy rental car will not hold a surf board!). The only thing that could top a fantastic day at the beach is the sunset view from the pool and hot tub, a cool beverage, and grilling up dinner. We saved about $100/day not eating out although we had pizza delivered one night ($40 incl tip). Mahalo Pineapple Inn for the best vacation EVER!!! read more

We were hesitant to write this review because we'd prefer to keep this gem a secret ... but ... fine ... WOW! This was our first trip to Maui and we couldn't have asked for a more wonderful experience. The Inn is gorgeous, sitting on the most beautiful grounds we encountered all trip. Be prepared to walk into a serene, idyllic oasis, the only downside being that you know eventually you'll have to leave. Hawaiian music plays as you take a dip in the refreshing saltwater pool or watch the sunset from the jacuzzi or make friends with the frogs and lizards while drinking your morning coffee on the lanai. The owners, too, are absolutely delightful, making you feel right at home. The location is excellent, in a pretty local neighborhood a short drive from the best beaches, our favorite shave ice stop and good restaurants and food trucks. We loved getting takeout and enjoying it under the stars. It is the perfect place for a taste of Maui, not to mention ideal for COVID times, and we can't wait to return. read more

I can't recommend the Pineapple Inn enough...we felt so lucky to have found this beautiful and quiet retreat in Kihei, South Maui. The rooms were very clean, modern, quiet and sooo relaxing. I slept like a baby every single night. The fridge came stocked with goodies for breakfast and treats for the week. I love that they include a large thing of coffee, creamer and orange juice...I enjoyed this everyday on the balcony. The Inn is tucked away in a neighborhood about a mile or so from tons of great cafes, shopping and beaches in Kihei. We never felt far away from anything the entire trip. It is very close to the highway, which you will hear from your balcony but it isn't loud and definitely comes in handy for getting around the island...we went to Hana, Paia and Lahaina without any troubles at all! No need to bring boogie boards, beach chairs or umbrellas...the Pineapple Inn has plenty for guests to use!! Great trip, thank you Steve and Mark...Mahalo! :) read more

We wanted a quiet, scenic spot to stay for our wedding and honeymoon trip, and the Pineapple Inn couldn't have been more perfect! The grounds are lush and gorgeous, our second-floor room had an ocean view from the lanai, and the service was friendly and prompt. Mark, Steve, and Phoebe all took great care of us. (We loved that towels magically appeared when we needed them.) Everything was immaculate, and the kitchenette is perfect for breakfast on the lanai. The B&B is located in a residential area of Kihei, right next to Wailea. You're within minutes of Kihei and Wailea beaches, shops, and restaurants. Lahaina and upcountry are both about a 45-minute drive, but most of it's easy and scenic. read more

We rented the cottage mid-October; it was important to us that the place was clean....and it was spotless! Helpful emails from the owners on where to grocery shop, but we found better excursion prices at other than their recommendations. The Inn was full all week, even though it was past the 'high-season.' Gorgeous and intimate grounds. Wonderful to escape some vacation hub-bub by relaxing at the pool with soft Hawaiian music in the background. Thoroughly enjoyed a sunset over West Maui from the hot-tub. We were happy to borrow a cooler, beach chairs and boogie-board from the Inn. Washer/dryer onsite is so convenient and helps to pack lighter! We were very well taken care of by Phoebe....she is so personable and generously gave us fresh papaya, bananas and replenished other things that we asked for. A suggestion might be to include more hooks or a rack for drying all of the towels/swim-gear that we used all week! read more

When my now-wife and I were searching for the place to enjoy our honeymoon in Maui we looked at several hotels and decided that we wanted something a little more intimate than a crowded Resort... So my wife started searching for places. She came up Upon the pineapple Inn and from the beginning the owner was super helpful and very friendly. Once we got here it was even better than I could have imagined. The setting is amazing and as there are only a few rooms at the inn we have had the pool and hot tub mostly to ourselves the whole time we are here. It is surrounded by beautiful flowers, palm trees, lights at night... An absolute must if you're looking for the perfect getaway on Maui. This place is outstanding. One of the most relaxing and serene places my husband and I have ever stayed. We received staying here as a suggestion from my girlfriend who previously stayed with her husband- and we are so glad we did! The rooms are immaculately cleaned, comfortable, and the fridge is stocked for the week (bagels, coffee, drinks, muffins, candy & more). The grounds are breathtaking- so peaceful and quiet, off the beaten path of the busy town. Gorgeous florals and foliage everywhere you look, it's like a fairytale. We wanted to get away from the one-size-fits-all, busy, noisy, predictable experience at the hotel chains on the beach...so we chose Pineapple Inn. This place is fabulous. Not on the beach but didn't mind at all since its like a little oasis from the touristy annoyances like screaming kids on water slides. Pristine landscaping with heavenly garden and beautiful pool. Comfy, clean and quiet rooms. In fact, the whole property is so quiet its like you have the whole place to yourself. Owners are so great. Nice and extremely helpful hosts. Attentive but not bugging you. Just the perfect degree of service. Had a great stay and slept soundly every night. And they have an awesome, sweet little dog named Indy who loves belly rubs. What a nice place! This is one of the best spots to stay on Maui, and the staff is truly a wonderful group of people! The exquisite attention to detail is evident everywhere, and the accommodations are top notch. We were very happy with our stay at the Pineapple Inn and can highly recommend it to anyone. Perhaps most impressive about the Pineapple Inn is its history, and the fact that the owners personally invested entirely from the ground up - one would never believe that they started with a poor lot and ended up with a slice of paradise - this is their home, it shows, and they have graciously (and wisely) chosen to share it with the rest of us. The property abounds with mature and well thought out landscaping, and the amenities are just right - from the hot tub to the pool to the outdoor "kitchen" to the beach accessories to the rooms to the lush gardens - one would be hard pressed to find fault. My husband and I are both mature "hospitality" professionals, and we possess not only experience and eyes for detail but also a thorough understanding of the legal, real estate, lodging, and transportation industries, as well food and beverage services. As a result of my broken ankle, I was laid up for three months and able to do extensive research and planning for the many aspects of our first trip to Maui. We had to postpone our first anniversary plans, which were originally to be celebrated by going on our honeymoon (cost was the factor related to our budget for both the wedding and the trip). Logistics being what they are, we waited for a few months and first went to Napa to play "tourist in our town" (see our reviews of Cedar Gables Inn and the Napa Valley Wine Train), then waited a few more months to give me adequate ability to walk. John is a limousine driver and I didn't want him to spend much time going from place to place on the island, so we stayed at five different types of "alternative" accommodations in all of the best areas - and we're really glad that we did! (Follow us on our trip, which began at Hale Akua Garden Farm - start there, if you'd like more good info. - the last stop was The Iao Valley Inn.) We did note that one traveler who posted a review was unhappy with the proximity to the road - this was actually a very small surprise, as my research included use of Internet maps to find every place at which we stayed. Yes, there is a main artery somewhat near one side of the property, which is a road located downhill and about 30 yards away from the uninhabited section of the lot, again maybe another 20 yards from the house. Being from the Bay Area, we didn't find the road at all disturbing, but it's definitely there and a source of some sound, predominantly during the day. The lanais adjoining the four rooms are all marvelous, almost entirely private, and offer a place to dry clothes and towels (there is also a coin-operated washer and dryer). Thankfully, we had a ground floor unit (Molokini); I don't mind stairs, but we did a lot of walking and hiking during our trip, and I was feeling it by then. If the room we had is any example, then all the rooms are fantastic; we were also pleased with the selection of goodies in both the refer and on the kitchenette counter (there's also a separate cottage with two bedrooms and a full kitchen). We must also give special thanks to Phoebe, who is the main gal when it comes to helping the owners with just about everything; she went to the trouble of getting me a couple of buckets for soaking (I got surprisingly very swollen in both of my feet and my ankles). Although the address of the Inn is Kihei, it's actually closer to Wailea, and therefore near some of "the kind" spots on the island - whether it be for beaches, snorkeling, dining, excursions, the Molokini Crater, local attractions, or "night life" (not too sure that's what one would call what "happens" after dark on the island). The Pineapple Inn on Maui is a terrific place to stay that most anyone would enjoy and appreciate as much as we did. read more
