Service and the food were fantastic. However, when I left a 20% tip in CASH because I didn't have enough cash on me to pay both the check and tip... (I paid the check on my card, tip was in cash in hopes the server would be able to receive it same day) please do not EVER EVER EVER add my cash tip to the check in addition to the cash I left and noted on the receipt!!! Like seriously? I work super hard to be able to provide for my children and take them out when I can. Even with the 4% discount this makes zero sense if I was able to pay all of it in cash. I will never be back and will be sure to notify my "circle" of the shady nonsense happening at this establishment. read more

The restaurant is located on Main Street in Dunedin located in a small strip mall. There were many patrons that regularly visit the restaurant. We are not surprised as the food portion is reasonable and tasty. We will be back. read more

I had above average food, service and the ambiance I expected at Pineapple Jack's. It is a bar, tables inside, bar area inside and a row outside. Its in a strip mall. I ate at the restaurant next door before and never noticed this place was here. It was packed on a Saturday night. It was clean and well staffed. We had the stuffed pineapples. We saw a photo on Facebook and immediately knew we wanted to go get THAT. There was coconut rice at the bottom that was very flavorfull.You could really taste the coconut in it The shrimp were grilled They could've used more seasoning to be honest. They were drizzled with teriyaki sauce.The sirloin was delicious. It was very tender and a good portion. I ordered mine medium rare, which is wasn't but it was not well done so that was fine I did say that next time I would ask for more teriyaki sauce on the side. Overall, I really like this place. The service was very attentive and our waitress was helpful in recommending some of her favorite items. The indoor area is a little bit dark, but they do have a fun patio/bar area that opens up when the weather cools down. The menu has lots of options which is always a plus. My only complaint is that my dish was very salty, not sure if it's because I ordered it blackened but it was very heavy on the salt even the pasta that it came with. This is a new place, owned by Pinellas Grill. We have already been here a few times and I had no bad experiences only the best food and service! AJ behind the bar is great and friendly and efficient. We've ordered the fried ribs....OMG to die for! Side salad delicious. Hubby got a Cuban again another excellent choice. Neighbors got the parm crusted salmon, looks and tastes as good as the picture and blackened shrimp pasta. Then we went back another time and got a pasta dish and split it and listened to some awesome music by Ray Boucher! Last night we stopped and had a steak quesadilla. Wow! Chunks of steak and all the fixings. The rain prevented the music man but still a great time. Don't tell too many people about this place or it will get too crowded! Haha. Enjoy. read more

Wanted a burger.. found Pineapple Jacks on a google search. Boy were we glad we took the ride! Three of us.. got a PJ chicken sandwich, PJ Burger and a cheeseburger and lava cake to share for dessert. Burgers were big and cooked perfectly as was the chicken sandwich. Only disappointment was they were out of pineapple upside down cake but the lava cake was devoured so I guess it was a good substitute! read more

My husband and I came here on a whim and were very happy. We were seated immediately our orders taken quickly. We ordered salads and the caramel fried chicken salad was fantastic! This place replaced Bascettis. It's more of an island flare than a the dark Italian place however, we did love bascettis. Tonight we decided to give them a try. Their prices are pretty much in line with most local eateries. So we decided to try a PJs chicken dinner & a chicken cordon bleu dinner. The portions are large. The pineapple chicken had melted cheese & teriyaki glaze on top. It was fresh & flavorful. The cordon blue was also good. It was odd though. The chicken was layered with ham & Swiss instead of being stuffed. It was then covered in cheese sauce & then sprinkled in bacon. Both dinners were plentiful. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is... everything was VERY salty! I thought maybe it was the cheese sauce but it's not. Both dinners were very salty & only 1 had cheese sauce. I'm not sure what was so salty but that was our only issue. The girl who took our order was very friendly. The order was ready promptly. We will definitely give them another try. I only took a picture of the cordon bleu but I'll share that. Also, thank you to whoever posted the menu. It was difficult to find aside from Yelp..... after reading a few other reviews, I see others say it's very salty... maybe that's something the owners can take note of. Went on a Tuesday night and got the fish and chip special. Service was really good, and the restaurant has a comfortable feel to it. The fish and chips were good, as was the pineapple slaw. One minor nitpick was the hush puppies seemed to be a bit more wet inside than cake-like. We tried Pineapple Jacks and enjoyed most everything and definitely will return. I had PJ's Stuffed Pineapple with pineapple coconut rice, broccoli, grilled shrimp skewer and sliced sirloin. Very tasty and the steak was cooked to perfection. Service was excellent! The location used to be my favorite Italian restaurant that closed and PJ's created a warm welcoming atmosphere. Great food and atmosphere. Started my meal with a pineapple painkiller and fried pineapple. They were both delicious. We both had the stuffed pineapple for our entrees. It could not have been better! We finished with pineapple upside-down cake, once again, it was fabulous. Our server Lauren was fast and attentive. The manager also checked on how everything was. Pineapple Pain Killer Drink $9 was ok not great just ok. I ordered the Lunch Pasta $14 - Broccoli Mushroom Pasta With chicken in the pasta Alfredo. Came with a breadstick. My meal was good. I enjoyed it. Wife ordered Triple Tail Sandwich $15. She didn't enjoy it at all. She said I should have sent the drink back too. I said no because I enjoy pineapple juice very much. I tasted the alcohol in it but I also tasted the pineapple juice. If I didn't taste pineapple juice in there I probably would have sent it back. I tried her dish she said it was salty. I enjoy salt in my food. I will say it did have a strange taste to it though so I'm glad I didn't order that. Haha. She ordered the pineapple coleslaw, she didn't like that either. I almost ordered that. Good thing I didn't. But yeah we tried this place out and we will just keep moving along to other places. I ventured in after receiving a Yelp alert for here. I noticed the name change about a month ago. It is a fresh look inside & appears much cleaner than the previous place that was here. The new owners have an island type flair with the sweet touch of Dunedin present inside. I ordered the triple tail sandwich customized for my preference. My request was lightly blackened, no bun, no onion. I am not a tarter sauce fan & asked for suggestions of any house specialities. The gentleman bartender suggested the pineapple sauce, which was a perfect compliment to the light tender flaky triple tail. The portion was a perfect size & refreshing. It is served with kettle chips but the option to upgrade to a different side is available. I chose to remain with the chips as the fish portion was plenty & filling on its own. They do have an outdoor dining area. Per the bartender, they are planning to have live entertainment on the weekends. Menu items are moderately priced, made to order & a nice variety for most palettes. My lunch is pictured in this post. Very nice presentation. Just had lunch there and it was awesome. We had the clam strip appetizer and the clam strip basket where we shared the french fries, coleslaw and hushpuppies. More than we could eat. Service with Lauren was above and beyond as she made my husband a cherry coke which he absolutely loves. The clam strips were fresh, battered and served with our choice of sauce. Tarter, Cocktail, KungFu, teriyaki, Thai chili. Were had a nice spot outdoors with plenty of shade and cool breezes. We will be back. read more
