We really liked this place :) My husband is Peruvian and he was very impressed. nice employees, place was clean, they handled a busy morning well. For late night snacking this spot was the perfect deliverance. I always get confused when I see things that look familiar but know they won't be as they seem since it has different titles in Spanish. Although everything looked yummy knowing it was Cuban fare I opted to go with what I knew was certain. The fruit tart was delish with coconut shavings on top and the guava pastry was great as well. The pictures on Yelp steered me to this little bakery/sandwich shop. I can't wait to see what they have to offer? Welcome to your died and gone to heaven of sweet treats, which everything is made in house. They even bake in house large loafs of French bread, which you can buy. Now don't be in a hurry to get in and out of this place, but I promise you it is worth your wait. The cafe con leche was strong and super flavorful. The fresh squeezed orange juice, literally pressed right in front of your face, was perfection. These sweet little mini croissant sandwiches were absolutely amazing. It had a sweet glaze on top with ham and cheese, but the amazing thing was the bottom layer of croissant was stuffed with ground beef! My beef empanada was fabulous and seasoned perfectly. He got the ham, chorizo, and cheese empanada, which was also good, but the beef has it beat. For dessert, we tried the flan and the chocolate eclair. The flan seemed to be really curdled, but still over all had great flavor. His chocolate eclair was amazingly decadent! Overall review: service 3/5 (super slow, but well worth the wait) and food (4.5/5) - curdled flan, best still very tasty)...this place is amazing...coming back for lunch tomorrow for sandwiches and more sweet treats!!! read more

Efficiency and ability to handle the volume of customers is something worth looking at. All I wanted was a cup of cafe con leche, yet there's a line that barely moved for 15 minutes. I chose to leave and I still had about 10-12 more customers in front of me and I wasn't the only one that left. As a local, I had to do a double take visiting Pinecrest Bakery this morning. Thought I made a wrong turn and ended up in Little Havana. No one working spoke English. One of the girls waited on a man in line behind me because he spoke Spanish to her! I ordered two items and the girl waiting on me could not to understand!?! This location is very convenient in Key Largo, it's open 24 hrs and has a drive through. It's nice inside and the staff is nice. Unfortunately the items we ordered were not even warm and definitely not fresh. We had pastel de carne, baked ham and cheese empanada, cheese croqueta and ham croqueta de la casa. They offer a wide variety of Cuban pastries, cakes, breakfast sandwiches, etc. We got a couple empanadas, croquettes, little pastry sandwiches, guava and cream cheese pastries, and coffee. Everything was delicious. The guava and cream cheese pastry was the best; and the coffees were so good. The chicken empanadas were the only things we weren't too fond of, they were dry.
