I'm the kind of person that gives a place multiple chances because I know there's no such thing as perfection. They are incredibly inconsistent. Here are my problems with this location: -their cheese croquetas have a weird taste to them. I can't quite put my finger on it, but there is something about them that tastes off. -They didn't have pastelitos at 4:30 in the morning. Some of us have to work early & every other bakery I've been to at this time has a selection of pastelitos. Granted, other places have a smaller selection than at other times of the day BUT they are still available. If you are open 24 hours a day, you should ensure you have your menu items. Especially something as simple as pastelitos. -my coworker went one time at around 5pm, ordered 2 tostadas. They only had 1 tostada for the day, the rest were for the "next" day & they couldn't use them. HOWEVER, our other coworker ordered a sandwich (that came with Cuban bread) & they could make it. When asked why they couldn't just use that for the tostada, they responded with "that's not allowed." -I ordered a sunshine croissant which is advertised as sausage, egg, & cheese. I requested without sausage, egg & cheese only. I get back to work & there is an insane amount of ham on it. -Second time ordering a sunshine croissant, I specify NO meat whatsoever. I ASSUMED (which was apparently stupid on my part) that the eggs would be exactly how they were last time which was a bit scrambled. I get back to the office, the eggs are fried & runny as hell, which I find absolutely disgusting. I paid $6 for a croissant as the eggs were inedible for me. Menu items should be available at all times, should follow what is posted on the menu, & should be CONSISTENT. If the menu states something is a certain way, make it that way. If something comes with a particular item on it, such as eggs, they should be made the same way every time. There is no reason why one time should be scrambled & another time fried unless its specified by the person ordering. Again, it was my fault for assuming the eggs would be the same but honestly, if you go somewhere & order something, it should be the same exact way every time it's ordered. Bleh. I was first introduced to Pinecrest Bakery a couple years ago. It became a great late night munching spot because it's 24/7. Since this location has opened its become the one we always go to. I don't think they have the best pastelitos, but they're pretty consistent so I know what to expect. I do think they're a great coffee option though and they will stay as my croqueta place because of their large variety. I don't eat meat so I'm a huge fan of their cheese and spinach ones. More importantly service has always been pretty good for the most part and prices aren't bad. read more

Great place for lunch. Their bowls are flavorful and provide good servings. I also understand that their burger is also very good for being a bakery. Overall some quick food for a very reasonable price. It doesn't hurt to finish your meal with a pastelito! read more

11:00 AM on a Sunday, no Tequenos and no cheese bread. Swapped our empeñada(fried and baked) order. They did have pan de bono which were ended up being hard as rocks. I'll make sure to check my order before leaving next time, if there's a next time. Also way overpriced for not very good quality. read more

Unfortunately for them the service here is what sucks food is great. A couple of the employees are very helpful. Unless you work for the city of sweetwater, then you are in and out and don't even need to take a number. City "officials" park where they please blocking the YELLOW HANDICAP RAMP for the side walk regularly and blocking in patrons who are properly parked. read more

I love coming here for my afternoon cafecito. The place is super clean and great food as well. The staff is superb. I feel like family when I go in. They already know my order when I walk in. Now I understand why this one has such low ratings, service is horrible they look at you with a face of anger. The pan con bistec is super dry and tastes horrible and I've gone to many other locations several times and it tastes wayyyy better. Someone needs to fix up the food here. read more

Just went to this bakery, order four chicken croquetas, toastada, and a dark coffee con leche to go. Once I get home the croquetas are ham, and I'm highly allergic to ham, and my coffee con leche looks like it just warm milk. Very unsatisfied, with the service of this bakery. read more

omg what does it take for this place to ever! have fresh pastelitos or bread! all they care about is the nursing student. i got there and it was 3 people and one of them was a nursing student that just kept everyone skip her while me and the other person mand because your staff is not professional. also train your night staff to not be rude! and to not to tell people on sunday 9pm they cant fried because the oil got turn off to be clean???? why do it a 9pm and not at 12am where all student are sleeping no volume through the doors !!! this past sunday you had 3 countair ladys 3 back ladies but yet no bread no empanadas no chicken mini cordun blue like jesus where are the owners of this place or any manager !!! because its a joke! read more

For a late night snack, when you don't feel like cooking after a long hard day at work or school, the place is pretty decent. I ordered pick up over the phone, the lady who answered seemed in a rush and almost didn't let me finish ordering, but once I got there, the service was very nice. Food quality was great for what I was expecting. The place looks neat and clean, I have passed by and seen bunch of police officers eating in there, so that is a good sign.. Everyone here is very nice and this is definitely my favorite bakery around. Everything here is super good from the sandwiches to the pastelitos. super good crisp fresh pastelitos that aren't ever soggy or under baked. Great tres Leches as well. The experience was horrible! They start by calling you "mi corazon, mi vida..." which I personally cannot stand from businesses and its EVERYONE. Then when paying they ask if you would like to leave a tip rather than giving me a receipt and I fill it in, I mean I didnt even have my total yet. And to finish my visit, when my order was ready the lady at the counter screams "chica" to get my attention and with an attitude! Absolutely horrific customer service! Wont be coming back. read more

honestly best pinecrest bakery ive ever been to food is always amazing and they always show me my order to make sure its right. HOWEVER, i went today and an employee started coughing all over the place with her mask off. she was coughing near cashiers and near the refrigerator that holds the drinks. so disappointing. she could've atleast went to the bathroom to cough or kept her mask on. i wouldn't be surprised if store closed down soon since she most likely infected half of her coworkers. she also didnt sanitize after her cough she just walked out of the bakery. This is probably the worse Pinecrest of all. Attendants do not know the products they are selling (wraps, sandwiches, etc). No sense of urgency and retention upon fulfilling an order. Attendants feel entitled to joke with customers in a distasteful manner. All in all, this place sucks. There is so much I want to say, yet I don't want to waste my time. Normally Pinecrest bakery is my favorite. They recently opened this one and I live very close to it. This location its lacking something I don't know what it is but food doesn't taste good at all. When you buy natural juices they are full of sugar, cheese croquetes are cold inside, it varies with the days. 4 out of 5 times it has been a waste of money. If you really want to go to pinecrest go to another one but not to this one. read more

Totally messed up our phone order. The lady that took my order was super nice but when we picked up the food it was all wrong. Ordered a pan con tortilla and it was just a piece of Cuban bread and egg. The beef empanadas was terrible. The meat looked like dog food. The señorita had the thickest piece of fondant ever. I was pretty excited that they opened a Pinecrest bakery closer to where I live. Normally I go to the one located in Pinecrest. This one however, does fall short of expectations. They are constantly running out of breads and pastelitos. I'm not sure if they are just selling out fast or they wait until they sell the last item to make more but it's pretty annoying. I've gone 3 times and I'm always waiting for more pan de bono or mini papas or ham croquettas. Last time I came here, I was told pano de bono would take 20 minutes to make more of. After waiting 15 minutes and asking for an update, they told me it would be an additional 20 minutes because they had decided to make more of some other pastries first. What?! I left without any pan de bono that day. The place is also very hot as the heat from the kitchen goes into the dining area. We tried eating there with a toddler but within 10 minutes of being there, we were sweating. Only good thing is that they do offer a FIU discount here. I'm aware this place is pretty new so I'm hoping they make a few improvements. read more
