The outside of this motel doesn't have much curb appeal, being behind a gas station and a Secretary of State office, but the inside is beautiful!

My daughter and I were in town for a softball tournament and drove 2 1/2 hours. I am an upfront and honest person, and didn't even know about this policy until check in when I saw the sign and mentioned it to the woman checking us in. She became very rude and exasperated, and swore up and down how she's the one who books the reservation and KNOWS she said it. I advised her that I in turn am the person that she spoke with, and this wasn't mentioned, which is why I pointed the sign out. We went back and forth for a bit until I told her that I have no problem going into town and getting cash out via atm with my debit card, as all the other places were now booked (because trust me, I started to call after how absolutely rude she was to me and my 12 year old). She relented. Overall the room and the facility was nice, but your absolutely rude attitude is why I'll never stay there again. It's not my fault you dropped the ball, and that I was upfront with you when I read your policy!!!

The rooms are all unique. Comfy beds, clean linens, a coffee maker and some snacks in each room. Right on US27 in St. John's, it's a stone's throw from the best cider mill in Michigan, Uncle John's. There's a long covered porch with various chairs for sitting around outside chatting and enjoying. The lady that runs it is just as friendly as can be. The last time I stayed there-2 weeks ago- I found a goodie bag with fruit and pastries outside my door in the morning. What a lovely surprise that was!!! I wish I had taken pics of everything but that's not really a problem because I will be back there real soon and I'll do it then. Don't miss out on this extraordinary lodging experience!!!

On the eve of Christmas, in…read morethe fair town of Durand, Michigan, my two eldest children and I sought refuge as we visited kin in the nearby hamlet of Swartz Creek. Lo and behold, the prices of lodgings were most outrageous, until I chanced upon the Quality Inn's own website. There, I made direct contact and was bestowed a most wondrous price. Though I harbored doubts, for the price seemed too good to be true, upon our arrival, we found the chambers to be most sufficient and clean, exceeding our expectations. Verily, the price was so favorable that I secured a room for myself with a grand king-sized bed, and another room with two queen-sized beds for my dear children. We reveled in our stay, enjoying a splendid night's rest, and on the morrow, we embarked upon our Christmas celebrations with family. All turned out most splendidly, and in the years to come, I do intend to repeat this cherished tradition. Huzzah to the Quality Inn of Durand for their exceptional service and hospitality!

When we returned later that evening, we found several issues. The hallways and room smelled strongly of marijuana, fast food, and an overpowering floral scent. The room had a broken lampshade, significant stains on both bed covers, and ineffective air conditioning that left the room uncomfortably warm. Given the condition of the room, we chose not to stay and drove home instead. This was a very disappointing experience, and I have photos documenting the issues.

The first room I was given had hairs everywhere on the sheets, dirt smudges on the covers, and disgusting skin flakes everywhere. The second room I was moved to had hairs everywhere and little spiders in the sheets (see attached picture for one of the spiders I saw). I went down to the front desk and asked if house cleaning could change the sheets, or if I could be moved to another clean room. The front desk lady told me they had no house cleaning on staff at that time, and that she did not want to go up to the rooms and make sure the next one I got was clean. She then recommended I go somewhere else to spend the night. Management has refused to provide a refund, even though I did not spend the night and was essentially told to go somewhere else by their own staff. I will be disputing the charge but wanted to warn people of the service they may receive while they are here. I had an absolutely awful experience, am still trying to get my money back, and will never visit this location again.
