I discovered Pink Pony though an Instagram ad when I was supposed to be studying for my midterms. I love their affogato! I haven't seen many places in ABQ doing it and as someone with a love for coffee and ice cream that's the perfect combo! We are in town on vacation and my oldest child wanted soft serve. I did a yelp search and found this gem. As soon as we walked in the door, the service was outstanding. The owner of the store was very friendly with our children, engaging them in conversation and helping them make their decision from all the wonderful options. My daughter got the bananarama with pieces of banana bread, caramel and creme brulee banana. I got chocolate and peanut butter and added one of the roasted marshmallows. Highly recommend the roasted marshmallow. They sell packs of the homemade marshmallows to take home. I wish I had the capacity to eat that before we left town because they looked amazing. My husband got Mah's favorite and my youngest picked a simple vanilla with special Halloween sprinkles. Everything was delicious. My only regret is that we didn't get some Italian ice or a few other options because I wanted to try it all. I highly recommend the sweet little spot. read more

I was so excited when I saw that we finally had a local soft serve place here in abq. My family, specifically my little sister, has a lot of love for soft serve so I've had quite a bit of it haha. Pink pony is a super cute little place and the staff (and I think owners) are always super welcoming. They have a great variety of fresh toppings as well. The first time I went I had the messiest chocolate chocolate dipped cone of my adult life and the second time I got a cup with chocolate ice cream malt power and one of the house made marshmallows. The stand out from all that is the marshmallow! I would go just to eat one of those. The chocolate dip they use is really tasty and good quality but because of that I suspect they have to keep it at a little higher temperature and so it really melted the outer layer of ice cream so maybe just ask for a cup to go with it to reduce the mess. They do only have vanilla and chocolate ice cream which I think is totally fine if the ice cream is high quality but unfortunately that is where I feel they fall short. The ice cream is good and pretty flavorful but it is not as creamy as I prefer my soft serve. For the ice cream itself I would rate it more of a 3/5 but everything else is yummy enough to give them the extra star. Overall pretty good and I love to support the local places. read more

In a town severely lacking some good, local ice cream shops I am happy we now have Pink Pony. The soft serve is delicious. You can tell it has whole ingredients and that makes all the difference in the taste. I also had to try the toasted Marshmallow and it was probably the best marshmallow I've ever had! I absolutely love Pink Pony! I had been following them on Instagram since they opened and I had been trying to get out to try their ice cream. I finally made it out for my birthday and it was so delicious I bought myself a second one. Never mind that my kids absolutely loved their Unicorn ice cream jaja. Beth and James are so wonderful which was just an added bonus. I love them so much, when my friends came to visit, I highly suggested they go visit them while they were at Meow Wolf. I guess he told them what I said and they actually remembered me because of my kids' names which I believe just speaks more to their character.
