I got addicted to Pink shirts after someone gifted me one they purchased for me at London Heathrow. Charles Tyrwhitt makes good shirts too, but they are a step down in craftsmanship and comfort. I ordered online and paid extra for next day delivery. It is three days later and I have been notified that half my order will be delivered tomorrow. When I called customer service, I got a after hours operator who spent 15 minutes taking down all the details of my issue. When I asked for customer service hours, she said 9 to 6 U.K. time. I dialed a U.S. number. Apparently, there is no U.S. based service according to this operator. Hard to believe. So far, I agree with the negative comments on customer service. I will update when I am in contact with Pink. Bad start, however. I bought some Pink shirts when I worked in London. I never had an issue with the face to face service. Received 2 Pink shirts as a gift. Within a few washings, the collar frayed. Then both cuffs frayed. Then the second shirt came back from the dry cleaner with a tear in the back. Horrible customer service and over priced shirts. I had thought I could just get a few shirts for work and that was a mistake. Ordering online was a mistake and one of the shirts has to be returned. I called and never was able to speak to anyone other than some dude from an answering service who was hard to understand. He was speaking in some sort of cockney accent that was just bizarre and cartoonish. I am still waiting for a refund on an order placed in the beginning of February. Also they never sent shipping information when the items shipped and when asked that involved way too many emails because all their tracking numbers were wrong. They did not meet basic exceptions and they certainly did not considering the cost of these shirts. Horrible service and products. I will never spend a quarter with them ever again. read more

People, for some odd reason, tend to believe that expensive clothing automatically means long-lasting. This is not always the case. Thomas Pink is quite an expensive store, and you will undoubtedly feel out of place if you walk in wearing jeans and sneaks. And they will make that known to you. I came here to purchase a nice tie for my brother. I was in a rush so I picked up a blue striped tie, thinking that if I'm paying so much for a tie, it'd probably be of good quality. But when I got home, I noticed that the stitching along one of the sides was kind of loose, and being ever curious, I pulled on it...and the thread came out. Very disappointed. For a high end clothing store, this location lacks in customer service, which is such a shame since it is one of the main high-volume stores in the US. We had shirts sent specifically to this store and were told that the manager would put them aside for us prior to our arrival. When we made it into the store, we discovered that was not the case. Apparently, no one bothered to set them aside for us, despite the fact that we were informed that they were ready for pick up. When we asked for the shirts to be located, the sales associate expressed that the back room was not organized and that she would have to "look all over for them." We asked again and she didn't have a problem with giving us the same answer. Wow. My favorite dress shirt of all, bar none. 170's, Winchester and Luxury -- amazing fabrics, incredible style and colors (or is that 'colours?'), flashy, yet many are classic and subtle enough to wear into a courtroom. There is no denying that you feel great wearing one of these shirts. Now -- I'll still stock up on my Paul Frederick $30 white dress shirts, and they serve a practical purpose, but it is well worth the occasional splurge to buy a Pink. I offer no flames to previous posters, but I will say that on a personal note, I have managed to care for my Th. Pink shirts and I still have some classic cut ones that are going on 4 years old with no frayed cuffs, no discoloration and no shrinking (again -- care has been the key - cold water wash only). I love my Thomas Pink ties, but I will willingly confess that I too have experienced some snags and light 'dethreading,' but I have always chalked that up to unfortunate hand calluses rubbing it, or just simply being too 24/7 while wearing it/them. i.e., I am rough on ties no matter the make or model, and I think the finer the silk or fabric, the more careful you have to be. The other bonus of going into the store, either the standalones in NYC, Boston (my favorite one) or some of the in-store ones like at Marshall Field's in Chicago, is that their knowledgeable salespeople will gladly help you find a color match, style and fabric for which you are looking. To top off the experience, I even received a handwritten thank you note on Th. Pink stationery from my last salesperson a few days later...Classy touch. I recommend everyone (man or woman) buys at least one Th. Pink dress shirt, and experiences the difference for themselves. read more

During college, I interned at a foundation located in midtown, right in the midst of all the high-end stores lining Madison Avenue. Years literally passed by and I never stepped foot into any of these haute places for two (very good) reasons, a) I was a student with not much income, and b) I really had no need to buy pricey button-downs as long as cheaper alternatives existed in the form of H&M and Banana Republic apparel, and so forth. Fast forward to 2009, and I find myself a college graduate, employed elsewhere, and thus in a position to pay a visit to some of these nice stores (thankfully). The plan this Christmas, is for myself and my supervisor-friend, to go dutch on a number of gift items for our colleagues so that we would be able to get nicer things for the few men in our office. For one of them, we did the tie thing, and as a supplement, I decided a nice pair of cuff links would be a sweet addition, so off I went to PINK. I stepped into the store and was immediately greeted with a warm and respectful welcome. The impeccably dressed sales representative showed me to three of their glass-enclosed displays of their link offerings. I saw an incredible array of gorgeous cuff links and wondered if the effect on a man is equivalent as to when a woman is shown lavish jewelry; can dudes go goo-goo ga-ga over cuff links? My presumption is, yes. After much perusing and mulling, I finally decided on a sterling silver (?) pair of dark navy, woven cuffs. The sales rep had on the same but in a deep purple and I thought it was lovely. I had to forgo some of the more expensive cuffs (some ran upwards of $200+), but once my purchase was placed in PINK's eponymous gift box, it made such a statement and looked truly elegant and amazing for something under $50. I am almost certain this gift will be enjoyed by our recipient. The service here is outstanding. I didn't feel at all intimidated as I had imagined. Marry great service with exceptional, quality shirts and accessories, and it is not at all difficult to recognize why folks shop here. There are countless colors and patterns that make their shirts very stylish yet pratical for work attire. The men I know love it and I just enjoy going into the store period. The sales associates are courteous and have expertise knowledge in assisting you on finding the perfect match. I can be picky and at times indecisive bc there are sooo many selections of exquisite items, and at HIGH-end prices I'll take my time = ]. Nice clothing, but not anything I really wanted. There's no subtlety to either the color or the texture (not like Armani or Gucci). It's all happy stripes. Also, the store itself has no style. Generally, the brand is a quality clothier for the more modern businessman. I have purchased and enjoyed shirts, ties, underwear, socks, and cufflinks from TP and have never been disappointed. My most recent need brought me to their NYC Flagship store on Madison. I required a custom evening shirt for my wedding as the style I wanted did not come in the fit I desired. I made an appointment, and despite my late arrival, they took me immediately made me comfortable while I waited for the manager and tailor. The process was enjoyable and a definite repeat if this type of need presents itself again. The manager and tailor were able to strike that fine balance between bending to my preferences and making informed suggestions (re: sizing and fit). Further, due to my own negligence, I was in a bit of a time crunch regarding the creation of the shirt. Although it was not an astronomical feat, they were extremely accommodating in assuring me that the shirt would be made and delivered to NYC by an adequate date to allow for any last minute adjustments. A great experience that will undoubtedly bring me back to the Madison Ave. location. Purchased: Marcella Evening Shirt, Custom measured Slim Fit with Fly Front Placket, Monogram stitching, gold collar stays. $450.00 Update: Shirt arrived, maybe 3 days after they estimated. Shirt was measured in store to assure correct specifications. I was unable to return to the location to pick it up, but the shirt was messengered down to my office (Wall Street area) same day. And older salesperson Melissa. Together couldn't figure out how to ring-up a complete sale. Kiana became nasty and defensive, and Melissa couldn't control the her st all. Kiana, these shirts, even on sale, are $100-$135, so smile and at least pretend to be pleasant to your customers, and don't talk back and don't play the game that if you had the last word it means that you "won". You don't have to win, you're a salesperson working on commission. Grow-up and be pleasant and then you'll be a winner. When Kiana no longer works here, I'll become a customer again. read more

The price on these shirts isn't outrageous, but there not a lot of value there. The classic shirts sem to go on sale regularly for $100, which isn't that bad considering their competition. The colours are fun and there's lots of variety. Unfortunately, the workmanship is not where it should be. You might look at the split yoke and think this is a top-quality garment, but it doesn't live up to the promise. The stitching is double-needle, and the buttons are plastic. Seriously, even on the high end 170s (starting at $180), the buttons are plastic (they're just thick plastic, made to look like deep troca/mother-of-pearl) . This may be par for the course at this price point, but the $50 +J shirts that Jil Sander designed for Uniqlo have single-needle stitching and mother-of-pearl buttons on most shirts. One interesting aspect of Pink shirts is that the Classic line has unfused cuffs and collars, while the slim fit lines have top-fused cuffs and collars. I prefer unfused collars and cuffs (they are relatively rare, and found seem mainly to be found from English shirtmakers, Hermes, RL Purple Label, as well as a surprising number of shirts made (and sold) in Japan), and this is why I was interested in Pink shirts... but the quality compromises in other aspects are just too severe to warrant anything more than a mediocre rating. I don't know if the made-to-measure shirts are made any differently (single needle? real MOP? fused or unfused collars?) because none of the staff there approached me while I was inspecting the shirts in the Madison Avenue shop. read more

It took a minute to get their attention, and they have far fewer women's things than men's. However, the salesguy was sweet and helpful, and the shirts look amazing. Really nice material, doesn't gap at all at the bust, fits my back and shoulders, sleeves are the right length, and there's just enough shirttail to keep my shirt tucked in but not so much that it bunches under my skirt. If I could afford it all of my work shirts would come from here. read more

Recently my husband visited the New York City store to buy a suit, shirt and tie. We found the service of the assistant store manager Christina to be excellent. We bought a beautiful suit with the help of Maria, much of the suit requires some alterations and an appointment with a tailor was arranged the next day with collection 2 days later. They were very helpful as we are on a tight timeframe as tourists to the City. The store is beautiful inside with a huge selection, which sometimes makes it overwhelming to make decisions, especially when it has been a long time between suits. So we thank them for making the experience very enjoyable, and of course I think my husband will look great! read more

I stopped in to this store with my husband last night a half hour before closing. There were three sales people working one helpful woman and two men. My husband was looking for shirts and it took him 15 minutes to pick out three to purchase. The whole time we were there one of the gentlemen tried to rush us. He insisted on checking us out before my husband had even changed back into his own shirt even though we were the helpful sales woman's customers. He was in such a rush that he made a mistake and had to redo the transaction again. I didn't have a problem with that, what upset me was how rude he was for no reason. By the time my husband came out of the dressing room the salesman and I were actually haveing words in raised voices. We left the store without the three shirts, and it was still 10 minutes before their7:00 p.m. closing time. read more

Arguably the worst shopping experience I've ever had. The sales staff totally ignored me from the moment I walked in till I left. I wandered around for about 10 minutes looking for casual pants, and none of the representatives bothered to offer any help. As I tried to find someone to ask a question, a sales staff just gave me a blank stare and then went to greet another shopper who came in after me. By the way, there were less than five shoppers in the store at the time so I'm sure the staffs were not swamped. I don't understand what's going through management's mind. They should have at least tried to show some respect to their customers, in order to justify the hefty price of the products they want to sell. read more

awful staff - as a corporate chic, your limited as far as suits and nice clothes for work. women's suiting is either really cheap (express, H&M, gap, etc) which looks and fits like shit, or you have to go really expensive, there really isn't a middle ground when it comes to women's work clothes. I wanted a nice shirt so i figured i would try Pink on Madison, never been before and i will never go back. first thing i noticed is the store has an over powering stench of perfumy air freshener, it made my eyes water. the staff did not acknowledge me when i walked in, the women sales reps puttered around 10 feet away from me folding items and not one of them came over to ask me if i needed help. i spent 20 minutes poking around at shirts and still no one came over, i was so fucking fed up i walked out. i have no problem dropping 200 on a nice shirt but for that kind of money i shouldn't even have to ask for someone to help me, they should already be standing there with items in hand. I suggest you stick with a Brooks or Faconnable, at those stores the staff will at least pretend like they give a shit. read more

I have always loved Pink inc. and have several of their sportswoman's shirts, I have begged my fiance' to give them a shot. He came home yesterday and said he finally stopped by whilst waiting for his 2 new Canali suits to be tailored. He was shocked at the awful service by the woman, brown hair, mid to late 30's who gave off negative vibes & made him feel unwanted and made little to no eye contact. She did not give a business card or ask for pertinent information to allow for a relationship to flourish. So typical, people assume if you don't drop a grand or more you are small potatoes. What Pink forgets is how to build a loyal customer base. Too sad for them. I will never go back. We will never spend our hard earned money where people are treated so rudely. There is too much competition and poor economy to be lackadaisical to any client, it is about customer service, because there is such a fight for peoples business. I shopped here a few months ago for a gift for my husband. It is still bothering me how rude the salesmen were. I had a gift certificate that was about 8 months old. They gave me a very hard time using it for some reason. They made it a point that the sales item I was purchasing was not being applied to the certificate. Did it really matter? I was spending 10x the value of it anyway! The clothing was well made I suppose but I just can't get past how rude they were. Treating me like a criminal for having a gift certificate? I always get ties from that store and bought some a few weeks ago for my boyfriend's birthday. When I bought them, I asked the sales woman how long I had to return it and she said 30 days. He didn't like them so I went to go return them. A woman named Ashley helped me with the return and was completely rude. She said that the return policy was two weeks which was printed on the back of my receipt. I asked her to make an exception one time since the last sales associate was mistaken and she rolled her eyes and called the manager over. The manager (a woman with a heavy European accent of sorts) was also rude but I convinced her to take the return. Ashley was responsible for helping me with the return and she was even more rude - she took a five minute long phone call during the return and then when she was done processing the return, I said "thank you" and she just stared at me and didn't say a word. Thomas Pink has ok shirts and ties but they aren't superior to anyone else so not sure why the customer service there is SO bad. read more
