This was our first time back to the Pinnacle in a few years. On the surface, not much has changed, the same outstanding views, same dining area but now it has an interesting menu. Sway was our server and did a great job, efficiently and with his friendly and engaging personality. The drinks, the Segura Brut Cava and the Lagunitas IPA, came quickly and we then went to the mains. My first choice main was the Spare Rib with mashers and Deb's the Chicken Fried Wagyu but unfortunately they were out of the CFW and instead she went with the Fish and Chips. Well, the mains were both excellent......both the Fish and the Chips were crisp and not greasy and accompanied by 2 sauces and a vinegar! The Spare Rib was perfectly cooked and the mashed potatoes and accompanying sauce was perfect. We had settled on splitting a dessert, the Carrot Cake, but they were out of it so we settled on the Bourbon Pecan Pie....Wow! It was excellent. All in all, a very pleasant meal with good food and excellent service by Sway and the team. We will be back :) !!! Be aware they do add an 18pct service charge. read more

Food, service and atmosphere were amazing. Every year my husband, myself and our fur animals stop in Kerrville on our road trip to Houston. This time we decided to try something different and we are so glad we did. The pork chop was so juicy with just the right amount of smokiness. My husband had the redfish pontchartrain and was blown away. Our cocktails were refreshing. Our wine suggested by Julianna was so buttery smooth. Kudos to the chef Roman and sous chef Ian. We love the new vibe at the Pinnacle Grill & Chophouse. We've been to brunch and dinner a few times since the menu/chef change. It's 10/10 better. Servers frequently change with new young ladies that have lots of personality. The wine list is amazing and so are the entrees and side options. A friend of mine and I visited the Pinnacle grill in Kerrville Texas. Both of us were so disappointed. Two hamburgers one iced tea and two thin slivers of pie $77 + an undeserved tip $10. For $87 you'd think the waitress would bring me the extra order of French fries I asked for, but she disappeared until we finished our meal. I reminded her, but all she had to say is " I'm sorry". Not, we'll give you credit on your check for your inconvenience or is there something we can do to make it up to you. No nothing. I spoke to the manager the next day. He also said he was sorry but would not offer anything more. That's how you know their "sorry" is as fake as they are. If that had happened to a big shot like Tiger Woods, Jack Nicholson etc...the staff and manager would have been falling all over themselves trying to give him anything to apeace deep pockets. But since it's just some walk in brown pleb Tex-Mex, the issue becomes a none issue. read more

The food is always good. I had the tacos, burger, and sandwiches. I would continue to encourage them to use local produce and meat. I have noticed an improvement. The one area I would say is the tables need to be cleaned throughly. I see staff standing around when there are no customers regularly. The last two times our table was not properly cleaned. On June 25th Peg, myself and our friends, Jerry and Mildred (all members of the Schreiner Oaks Society) were treated to lunch at the Pinnacle Grill by officers of Schreiner University. As you can see from the photos of other reviewers, the Grill is located high on a hill in what was the ranch house of the property. Everyone but li'l ol' me had been there previously, so naturally I was excited to have a chance to eat there. Although it's located in a private club in the Comanche Trace subdivision, the Grill is open to everyone. One might think that prices would be quite high but not so--the highest on the lunch menu is $12.95 and $38.95 for dinner which are very reasonable by today's standards. Their new menu has been placed on their website this week, so take a look if you're curious. The service was friendly and efficient, the ambiance lovely with the only detraction (in my opinion) being the abundance of taxidermized animal heads. But this is Texas after all! Enough of the pleasantries--on to the food! Peg ordered the Cranberry Chicken Salad and it was the Big Boy Wesley, a burger stuffed with cheddar cheese, topped with bacon and jalapenos, lettuce, onion tomatoes and condiments for me; I ordered onion rings for my side. Others at the table ordered the French Dip, Cranberry Chicken Salad and the Bacon-Bleu Burger. I'm focusing on the meals ate by Peg and myself as I didn't want to bother the others, cramming my camera over their food. Everyone was happy with the choices. Peg's salad was nicely presented. She said the greens were fresh but had little flavor and the chicken (what there was of it) was somewhat dry. The other person at the table who ordered it had similar comments. Both agreed, though, that the berry vinaigrette was a good choice for the dressing. When my burger arrived, I oo'd and ah'd over it. Ginormous beasty of a thing on a toasted brioche-style bun. But after opening it, my initial joy was diminished. Bacon and jalapenos were present, but rather skimpy and there was pepper jack melted on top--not on the menu but it would blend nicely with the cheddar. Slicing the burger in half I found that it was not stuffed, just two patties atop each other. The onion rings were those frozen, emaciated things. Were I paying for it, I would have sent it back. Instead I just took a bite and was very happy--juicy, flavorful, everything a burger should be. Well . . . okay, I mellowed, I must admit. I suspect that someone forgot to throw the cheddar between the patties and it wasn't noticed until it was on the grill--enter the pepper jack on top. Had the burger suffered greatly from the mistake, this review would be much different. So, a deduction of half a star for Peg's salad and half a star for my burger and onion rings. I hear some of you saying, "What, he's being NICE?" Take heart, Gentle Reader, I'm still the cranky curmudgeon you've been tolerating for years. But every now and then I cut some of my reviewees some slack. I would order that burger again (with the admonition to insure the cheddar is there) and both Peg and I intend to return for dinner in the future. read more

I have eaten here several times. It is our go to place to take friends to for a great meal. We have always had a great experience and meal here until yesterday. Told by waitress that they were out of Chicken Fried Steak and Grilled Salmon ( two of my favorites). When got our salads we asked if they had any bread. Waitress said no yet when we received our entrees each plate had a piece of grilled buttered bread on it. We asked if they had any horseradish for our steak. The answer was no. Also they had no specials to choose from as they have had to offer in our past experiences. We ordered desserts (carrot cake and key lime pie) and was given 4 soup spoons to eat it with in place of forks. I hope this is not the trend of food and service going forward. read more

Overall great food and great bartender; based on very old reviews that were negative, there must have been a change in management, chef, and staff. This was five star all around. Be aware - it is casual, and yes it is at a golf course, which usual means mediocre food and service. Not at all today, September 4th 2020, it was first rate. AKA the Chop House. Had lunch there for the first time. Great place with unbelievable views from atop a big hill. While the lunch menu was somewhat limited, it had all the usual fares that one would expect. I ordered the hamburger and it was very good. The bun was very soft and fresh and the fries were hot. Service on the other hand was lacking to say the least. There were no drink refills and no check backs after the meal was served. The wait staff got blown out by two 7 people tables and everyone got ignored after they were seated. They also ran out of menus as well. Would like to go back and try again because one cannot ignore the beautiful view, but I hope that the wait staff gets more training on how to take care of their entire section of tables. read more

We normally love going to the Pinnacle Grill and were looking forward to the Mother's Day Buffet yesterday with our son's family. Our table was ready and waiting for us when we arrived at 1:00 and it looked so pretty with fresh flowers and a nice table setting. When the server asked what we wanted to drink, I asked for a wine menu and was told there wasn't one, which I thought was strange. So I asked for a dry Cabernet Sauvignon and instead of offering me a sip first, since I had never tasted that brand before, she just brought the bottle and set it on the table and left to bring my husband's drink which she had forgotten. So we had to pour the wine ourselves which sounds petty I know, but this is a 5 star restaurant most of the time! The salad buffet was excellent with lots of choices so that was a plus! The entrée buffet was not as nice. The chicken piccata was overcooked and the beef tenderloin was cold. The best part was the horseradish sauce! The green beans and mac & cheese were warm and yummy! The dessert buffet was so-so with tiny pieces of carrot or chocolate cake and they were pretty good. Our daughter-in-law accidentally left her knife on her salad plate and the server cleared it and never brought a replacement knife. She finally went and got one on her own. All in all we were pretty disappointed in the whole event, especially considering the cost. Might be a long time before we go back and definitely NOT on a holiday!!! read more

I've been going to the Chophouse for more than a year and a half. Service was sketchy when I started, but it has improved tremendously. It is now one of our favorite places to go. Great burger night, with a Waygu-Agaushi burger that is just outstanding.Steaks are great, excellent wines, craft beers and awesome views. Also a great outdoor deck for drinks and appetizers, or you can have lunch or dinner out on the deck. They also do events, and my company had their Christmas Party there.They did an outstanding job. I've only been to the Pinnacle Grill for lunch, Dinner is too expensive. However, the lunch menu has a nice variety and the prices are reasonable. Service is always good, and the views of the countryside are exceptional. I like to go there for brunch. Their hash browns, bacon, and eggs are always good. This cost less than $10, plus drink and tip. I like to go there in the winter when the fireplace is going. I've also been there with a group of about 10 people. Service was slower then because they will not serve anyone until everyone's order is ready. Most of us ordered salads, burgers and such. One person ordered chicken pot pie, which had to be cooked, so that held us up. However, for one person or not more than four, service is usually good. And the food is worth the trip out there. read more
