Small place mediocre flavor with a very basic appeal. The burger is obviously a hand made patty and has got to be at least a half pound. Fries are a golden brown thick cut style and crunchy. Walk in and head up to the counter, order your food from the menu board on the wall and wait, not too long, and get your drink from the drink machine. Once your burger is ready they call your name and bring it out. The burger is lack luster and pretty flavorless. One saving grace is that it is juicy. If not for the mustard lettuce tomato and mayo there, however, would be no real taste. The bun is soft, the patty is big, but the taste is pretty nonexistent. The fries were crispy but again... really no flavor... just fried potatoes... be sure to add some salt! This place just needs some seasoning... sadly... desperately. I mean take a trip to the local HEB, go down the backing isle, and get some salt, pepper, garlic, paprika... chili... heck anything! It's a shame... not horrible, but just lack luster. read more

I am always ready for a good burger. In fact, a good cheeseburger is probably in my top three favorite things to eat, so I tend to be tough on burger joints. Went back this past Wednesday for dinner and had a bacon cheeseburger. The only real complaint I have was the time it took to get my food. Granted, there was a larger party in front of me. Overall, they are obviously making things fresh and the two guys in the kitchen were hustling. So, even though I'm cutting some slack, I seem to remember the same issue when I first went there... The burger was good, not exceptional. Large, thick patty, good bun/burger/condiments ratio. Manageable (meaning it's not so large it falls apart on you) burger. Fries were well seasoned and fresh. Overall, though...something missing. I'm thinking the patty could use some more seasoning. I think this joint is definitely a must try location if you're in search of a "classic" (pun intended) burger joint in Kerrville. Good vibe, pretty good burgers. Recommend? Yes. Will I go back? Seriously, this is the BEST cheeseburger I've ever eaten! Granted, it doesn't have the ooey, gooey cheddar goodness that is the Chris Madrid's Cheddar Cheesy, but this is the whole experience. Incredible, thick beef patty, perfectly fresh fixins, and tasty tender buns (white or whole wheat, I've had both and they're both GREAT). I got the special (I forget the name, but it's the one with bacon, cheese, and grilled onions). The bacon would make Jim Gaffigan proud! This is the real deal. Thick, peppered bacon. I'd almost go so far as to say it makes the burger, but it's just one factor in this equation of deliciousness. The onions, green leaf lettuce (not iceberg), bacon, toasted bun, cheese, and quality of the beef show that they don't rely on just one aspect of the burger to make it work, but instead put effort into making every bit of it based on quality. Another reviewer said that servings were very large but we found that the french fries and onion ring servings were just typical in size. My "JB's Classic", like all of their burgers, came on a large, 5-inch bun and had fresh tomato and lettuce along with pickles, grilled onion, mustard, mayo and lots of bacon. But the cheese was a bit of a let down as it was run-of-the-mill American. Why go to all of the trouble using a bunch of quality ingredients and then skimp on the cheese? Stopped in today to try a new to us burger place in Kerrville. We are new to the area and looking for our local "go to" place for burgers. Sadly, not one of the staff was wearing a mask. It was absolutely worth the drive it took us to get there. The place is adorable! It's a real throwback to the burger joints of my childhood. The ambiance is great; the staff is fast, efficient and genuinely friendly. However, it is the food that really shines! This is definitely in the top 5 burgers of all time and I have eaten a lot of burgers in a lot of different towns and states. The burgers are cooked to order.
