I stopped in for lunch today with a friend and ordered the bistro steak and fries. It was amazing! Cooked perfectly and the sauce was so flavorful. My friend had the chicken tenders which were also great. You can tell they are handmade with really delicious beer batter. The staff is friendly and attentive. We were a little skeptical because of some that so favorable reviews after this restaurant had been sold. But, we were very happy with the menu and the Service. Yes, the menu is a bit paired down, but they're working on it so give them time. It was worth it and we will return. read more

I had not been to Pinnacle Grille in about 2 years so to a move. Went tonight with a friend and what used to be my weekly go to is now even more amazing. They have consolidated their menu, under new ownership, and they are knocking it out of the ballpark! Our waiter, Eric, and the newbie he was training were both fantastic. So attentive and accommodating to our multiple change requests. The food used to be good and is now great. What a great Friday night fish fry! We already have reservations for next Fri. I'm trying to pinnacle grill now a couple times and will definitely be putting it in my rotation! I've had the steak salad and the lettuce the mahi tacos and they're excellent. The beer selection is amazing and I recently heard that they're going to even be expanding their liquor, selection, and beer selection even more. Had lunch today at Pinnacle Grill. Very disappointed as I was two weeks ago when we went for taco Tuesday and the fish was very small and breading was mushy. Today I noticed they took the salmon entree, onion rings, chopped steak, sweet potato fries and BLT off the menu. I'm sure there are more items. It's too bad as this was our go to place. Also, they didn't accept our gift cards as they are transitioning to a new system. They said maybe in a couple of weeks they would. So we have over $200 in gift cards that we can't use now and not looking forward to going back any time soon. We have been coming here for about 6 months. Before and after menu/ownership changes. We have had nothing but a fantastic experience every time. The food is great. The staff is amazing. They always have good attitudes and have fantastic recommendations based on my tastes and preferences. They have always made us feel so welcome even when we showed up at almost closing time. Hello Everyone: I am always cautious about posting a review less than four stars because I know establishments work hard to maintain customers, but unfortunately, the "to go" salad fell short of what I have come to expect from the Pinnacle Grille. The salad I ordered their Pinnacle Salad. I have had this salad many times previously "to go" and know it holds up to a take out order nicely. But, when I got home and opened the bag, inside was a "Chicken Crusted Pecan Salad" order which is nothing like the Pinnacle Salad. Apparently, I got someone else's "to go" order. The Pinnacle Salad contains chicken breast, mandarin oranges, walnuts, strawberries, spring mix lettuce and goat cheese served with mango dressing. The Chicken Crusted Pecan Salad used the same greens in the salad, but had cranberries, a few fresh/raw pecans, five EXTREMELY thin slices of apple and feta cheese. The dressing (I am guessing because I did not order it) was some type of pecan balsamic which was very, very sweet. I did not feel the dressing partnered at all with the salad ingredients. But, the biggest reason for the three stars was the chicken. The restaurant maintained one star in my rating (or it would have been a two-star rating) for boxing the warm chicken in a small separate styrofoam container, separate from the lettuce container. But, the pecan crust on the chicken apparently fell off when the kitchen cut it up and half the styrofoam box containing the chicken was all pieces of the crust that fell off and you could tell someone scooped the crust off the cutting board or counter and put on top of the four slices of chicken breast because there was a big pile of it just sitting in the center of the box. . Although my disappointment with the wrong order is evident, my biggest complaint was the chicken was so dry, it could not be cut, let alone eaten. This was such a huge disappointment because the chicken in the Pinnacle Grill salad is usually edible (never "moist", but can be cut with a fork and was edible). Therefore, I cannot recommend this salad to go - or any version of it or any other menu item which might have 'pecan crust' as a part of the entree. Perhaps the chef had an off-day, but he/she had to see what was happening with the crust on the chicken when they cut it, and also that it was void of any moisture. That is not something you serve a client, especially one who has patronized you for years. read more

Shrimp scampi ... was just okay. I was asked if I wanted garlic bread with the meal and I said yes. I was charged $4 for a poor piece of a roll with barely garlic on it. The restaurant reminds me of a NY diner. Menu is underwhelming. I brought the pasta home and had it later. After it had chilled there was white fat in the take home box which tells me it was lard not olive oil used. Next to no butter (or whatever it was) and garlic on the sorry bread. So bottom line, won't be going there again. I considered the $4 as part of tip since I was not happy I was not told for a simple piece of bread I would be charged. Not a good way to do business. Way north in Scottsdale and not much around it. So the residents must think it is great since they don't have another choice and are just used to the poor food. Staff is wonderful. Latest news, all great experiences at this restaurant as of late. They have excellent food, retain their staff (10+ years), are consistent, considerate/respectful, have clean bathrooms and floors. The menu is quite large. This restaurant is a local's hidden jewel in the foothills of the Sonoran desert. Boomers flock (mostly 60-80's), looking for food specials and venturing out during the week for "Burger Night". They showcase dinner meals for each day of the week. PINNACLE GRILLE IS NOT HONORING THEIR GIFT CARDS! We are very disappointed that Pinnacle Grille is not accepting the gift cards that were purchased prior to the sale. We've been told that the new system called "Toast" doesn't accept the gift cards, but the "Toast" website says the new owner's system can accept outstanding gift cards from a previous owner IF they choose to honor them. They are also saying that at the time of sale they were told that there were less outstanding gift cards than there actually are. Customers should not lose out because of this. This should be resolved between the old owner and the new owner. The new owner needs to realize that the LOCALS who support Pinnacle Grille purchased these gift cards to give to friends and family and to use themselves. This is not acceptable and needs to be resolved ASAP! We are regular customers and have been for many years, however, this may change depending on the outcome of this issue. read more

For many years we have loved the Grille and frequented often. Decided to return tonight to see it after the new owners took over last month. Terrible! Menu severely restricted so I defaulted to fish and chips. Over cooked batter with minimal fish. So bad, had meal comp'ed. Ordered desert to compensate. I only ever get takeout from here, because the scene is not mine. Don't get me wrong, the ambience is fine. It feels like a more upscale Applebee's inside, while on the expansive patio a speaker plays oldies or country music. It's just nothing that would remotely aid in my digestion of their food, which is on the good side of what you'd expect from a pasta-and-burger type joint in North Scottsdale. Had a total order to go. Extremely nice folks, willing to make modifications. Winners The Wings. Bone-in. The seasoning on them was very good. Nice and crispy. I asked for sauce on the side - bang. And it was a large amount, not some rinky dinky typical at other places. I asked for blue cheese if they had it, as a side. They do (it's not on the menu). No additional fee. Plenty. Ranch was quite tasty too. Again no charge. Asian wrap. Holy Holy. This is a must. From the chicken in it (I belive you pick the protein), cabbage, shreds of carrot and the sauces. Spouse raved about it. I had a taste. Very good. Definitely left overs. Spouse went with some cheese with tomatoes thing, I wasn't there ordering. She loved it. Minus Hummus with pita and veggies. Three pita, one was missing the top side, as it appeared someone tore it off. They were not heated, a minus. I didn't cared for the red pepper hummus which is the hummus that comes with it. Ordered my Pinnacle Grill fav, the rubin sandwich, very disappointed with the sandwich, something has changed about the sandwich that new owner needs to address. The bread has a burnt flavor and the coating they place on the bread tastes awful. My grand kids complained that the burger patty was burnt, when a 10 and 12 year old complains you know something is amiss with their food. Service was top notch as usual, the place was clean as usual but the patio chairs need to thrown out. Dawn was her usual excellent self. Bring back to old menu, the new menu has deleted half of there most favorite items. I'll keep watch on the restaurant as the new owner takes over but I fear it won't be my favorite place based on what has happen to the food since he took over. If improvements and/or returning to the old menu and meal prep are not going to happen it will become my last choice. read more

If you order food to go and you don't get the right order, know that a mistake was made and at some step in the process someone dropped the ball. Don't review the food you were never intended to have. Don't drivel on for paragraphs about the quality of the food you didn't order being sub par. As that order probably fell off the counter or was forgotten by someone else long before. If you receive the wrong food and don't want to drive back and replace it, call the restaurant and get yourself a credit for next time. You get free food, you don't show yourself to be obnoxious and allllll of your helpful hints being written to people who will NEVER read what you wrote won't be wasted. And lastly, if you have high hopes for Togo food that is made to be eaten when prepared. Stop that, it's unbecoming to our race and we should be above this by now in the age of ai super computer beings and magnificent drone shows! One star deduction for handing out the wrong food, a simple mistake in a busy restaurant. Maybe check your food before you leave next time. PS the Pinnacle Grill is a lovely restaurant that 8x out of 10 will leave you with a lovely dining experience! Another visit June 2025 Ever had one of those days, and instead of cooking you are willing to go to just about any place instead of your own kitchen? Well when that happens, we often headed straight to Pinnacle Grille...our go-to neighborhood escape. Started with cocktails (obviously). My lemon drop martini was chilled to perfection with a sugared rim and the shaker left at the table...love that little extra touch. My hubby had his usual reposado tequila old fashioned, and once again, Jackson nailed it. Big Gentleman's cube, dark cherries, orange peel... balanced and smooth. So good. Erik was our waiter again (we love him!) and talked me into the Steak Gorgonzola Pasta. Let's just say he did not steer me wrong. Perfectly medium rare cooked steak, creamy Cajun sauce, cherry tomatoes, and a drizzle of balsamic. Rich, comforting, and exactly what I needed. We split the lava cake because... well, it was that kind of day. And yeah, it delivered. Every time we come here, it just feels right. It's local, it's consistent, and it's full of people who clearly care. We'll be back. We came in with a group of friends and had everything from burgers and fries to bolognese and chili (topped with fresh jalapeños for the heat lover in the group). I had the cheeseburger with onion rings--crispy, hot, perfect. Nothing fancy--just solid, delicious comfort food done really well. This place makes it so easy to settle in and stay awhile. Pleasantly surprised last night, with our return to Pinnacle Grille after about 4 weeks away. Fast, friendly service greeted us and we were able to have a long conversation with the new owner, Steve. He clued us in on some of the changes, all which we think are positive. New tables and outdoor chairs are coming, and the menu, though smaller, serves up everything fresh. The portions are good and the prices fair. Of course, I have to mention the French Fries which are great! We look forward to trying more items soon! This is our favorite watering hole. Yes it had an ownership change and the menu has changed but it is still very good. Appetizer pretzel was added and is awesome! Happy hour draft beers are still just $4. 1/2 price bottles of wine is still on Wednesday's. The owner (Steve) is there most of the time and seems to really care how the food and experience is. Summer time in AZ is tough on our local restaurant's. I work and live here year round and I appreciate a good restaurant with great food that does not gouge you for price. I would lit to see the pretzel bun for burgers come back and really miss the Cobb salad with blu cheese. Can you bring that back? Just moved up to this area recently and looking for a burger joint, thank goodness there is one and it's this good! They cooked my burger exactly the way I wanted it - mayonnaise, fresh onions and fresh jalapeños. You'd be surprised at how many burger joints either can't do this won't do it or they use pickled jalapeños. These guys have everything fresh and the meat is quality. Also the skinny fries are epic! The staff is top notch. I know the new ownership is a change, but the menu is practically unrecognizable from the old PG menu we all enjoyed for years. They've nixed some top menu items, and turned the happy hour menu into a menu that matches their bar menu at their other establishment. We still go there, because we don't want to lose the establishment, but we wish that wasn't the reason that dragged us there. It used to be a beloved neighborhood restaurant. The happy hour menu was a light meal, with protein options, rather than just fried food and carbs. We understand the new owners are trying to work with the clientele on arriving at an agreeable menu. I'll give them that grace. The fresh fish is a plus. Bring back the Pinnacle Blue burger. It beats the same burger from Blue Burger in North Scottsdale hands down! read more

I recently went back after hearing from the new owner. He is improving the menu considerably, fewer items but all being fresh! My Cesear salad was really good and fresh with very good dressing! We have been going there for decades: GREAT STAFF ; taco Tuesdays. 50% on all wine bottles on Wednesdays, diverse menu with many choices, close to home. However, after 2 recent visits in the last week, we are very disappointed with the changes made by the new owner: limited menu, reduced choice of dinner entrees (salmon was wonderful) etc. The owner is very experienced running restaurants but is beginning to be change to a sports bar climate rather than a neighborhood restaurant. read more
