I've been searching for a BMW 6 series now for a while, and this car popped up on craigslist that seemed too good to be true. It was advertised $3k lower than the cheapest one I've found, and seemed to be in great shape. They were completely upfront with the car, and even had an upclose picture of a scratch on the front bumper as well as minor rock chips in their ad. This was the complete opposite of what I've been experiencing with other dealers in thinking a car was in excellent shape, only to find a bunch of issues once i see the car in person. Called, scheduled an appointment, and went to see the car. Guess what!?!? There was not a single issue other than the ones disclosed. They let me drive the car by myself, came back 20 minutes later, and wrapped the deal up. I did try to negotiate with them, although they said they have a "one price" philosophy which was fine, because i was out of there in 15 minutes, and got a very very good deal. I told them I wanted to do a transmission flush because I had no idea if one was ever done, and if so when; and asked for recommendations. They scheduled an appointment with a shop they use to have the work done under their acct (wholesale pricing), who did the job 3x cheaper than a local bmw indy. Not only did I get a great car, I now have a major hookup for mechanical work, and met a really cool dealer. Highly recommend these guys!

Both cars instantly had problems and were far from having been serviced recently. When they took it back in to see what would be done they both got the same answer: "These cars are sold as is and you must drive like a maniac" HAHAHA. One was brought 100 miles later and the other didn't make it 12 miles! Brakes were low, transmission leaks, black dirty oil and on and on. If you do happen to find yourself there buying a car, PLEASE get it checked out - no matter what they tell you. At the end of the day they are used car salemen. $100-200 in a pre-purchase inspection would've saved both these chumps thousands of dollars.

Long story short - my Maserati Levante needed some repair that is absolutely covered by warranty and Maserati of Marin issued inflated invoices that the warranty could not cover (well above standard approved rates). Eventually after a month of absolutely useless and exhausting conversations with dealership (my car was stuck with them) - I took my car back and found another dealership that priced they work normally and all the labor was fully covered by warranty. Especially wanna mention absolutely dismissing and transactional conversation with Woody Barragan -- Aftersales Director. He spent more money on answering my emails rather than labor cost that he didn't want to decrease to a standard price. Now in details: For weeks, I've been trapped in an exhausting nightmare without my vehicle, constantly being bounced between the dealership, Maserati corporate, and the warranty provider. Every single conversation led nowhere. Meanwhile, the warranty company itself confirmed that the labor charges being demanded were excessive and far beyond standard approved rates -- yet somehow I was still left fighting this battle alone. I want to specifically mention how defeated and ignored I felt dealing with representatives Woody Barragan at the dealership and the endless back-and-forth with corporate contacts who showed absolutely no urgency or compassion. No one took ownership. No one cared enough to actually help resolve the situation. To make this even worse, I am currently eight months pregnant. I signed up for the "full service" which costs $600, in search of a 36 month lease on a 2019 Honda Odyssey XL. (This would be my first time ever leasing a vehicle.) Linda was rude, condescending, and highly defensive whenever I mentioned that I had received a previous quote that was far lower than the quote she provided. She resorted to calling me a liar, a bully, and finished one scathing email by saying "shame on me," all without ever explaining why (other than the fact I challenged her to find me a lower offer than the one I got on my own- which she refused). I asked her numerous times for an explanation but she never gave one, only insisting that I re-read the CarQ summary of services. She got really mean and nasty about it. I made a complaint to the Better Business Bureau and again she said I was misrepresenting the facts but when pressed to give her side she refused. It has been a true nightmare of an experience. So here's my bottom line. Do yourself a favor and pass on CarQ.
