Posh looking bowling alley and arcade game arena with sub-par food and service. Went on a Friday evening only to be told that the wait time was over 2 hours. So, went back again on a Saturday morning when it was not so crowded and when we could clearly see the bowling lanes being open only to be told that the wait time was over an hour. We decided to kill some time at the arcade games area (I have a strong feeling that they do this to direct people to spend time at the gaming area). A little overpriced place too. Food is your typical bar food. We got a couple of pizzas, some appetizers, sandwich, and fries. It was all average but, we were not expecting gourmet food anyway. Variety of activities offered, more than at competing entertainment centers. We spend a lot of family time in places like this and Main Event fails in every way compared to PINSTACK! As you walk into PINSTACK, it appears to be the perfect place for a family night out. The wait is an hour and a half, so it must be a great place to be, right? Not exactly. While the bowling was fun, the wait staff needs some serious training. I felt bad for the young man that was waiting on our table, as it was clear he did not have proper training. Our ticket was added to someone else's bill. After that was fixed, our meals came out and were not what we were told they'd be by the waiter. Another member of our party had a burger that came out completely raw. When returned, they sent out the exact same burger again. The staff (both kitchen and wait staff) needs to be properly trained and they need more employees. There was only one waiter for 8-10 lanes -- not fair to that waiter. Drinks were fine. The margaritas are good. We'll probably go to Splitsville next time. read more

This place is lots of fun, great for kids and families. Lots of arcade games, laser tag, bowling, and an obstacle course. There is also a small bar for adult drinks. We had a great time! My reason for the three stars is the bowling lane we got kept having problems and we eventually got tired of it by the third time and asked for a refund. They were get though, they were fast to fix the issues when we had them and when we asked for a refund instead, they gave us one no questions asked. We just held a pain free birthday party for my teen son at PINSTACK Allen. Our party host, Zion, exceeded all expectations that we had. He ensured that our guests were well taken care of and that my husband and I were relaxed the entire time. He anticipated any issues before they arose (hello... two pizzas and 8 teenage boys?), leaving us with a completely stress free experience. I will never take my son here again. We wanted to get into the VIP area. We arrived at 7:30pm and were told that children were not aloud after 8pm by the employee behind the counter Brandon. We were ok with that. All of a sudden at 10pm we see a child that looked no more than 5 years old walk in ( bowling shoes in hand) to the VIP area. We then flagged the manager CRUZ down to talk to him about the situation. He tried to tell us that the family paid for there lanes before 8pm and that's why they were aloud into the VIP area. The reason for my bad review is that we were treated like we were trash by the manager CRUZ. Not only did CRUZ not care about the satisfaction of his customers but when I told him I was ignored not once but twice at the bowling desk he just looked at me and smirked. I have never felt more disrespected than I did tonight. Our server on the other hand was amazing and I just hope he doesn't follow in the footsteps of the two employees mentioned above. My wife and I went to bowl today and the lane we bowled in kept having issues withe scoring, in 2 different games I knocked some pins down in both attempts but the scoring showed I had a gutter ball both times. Also I knocked a few pins down and it scored correctly but I guttered the second ball and the system did not record this and actually let me have 3 attempts and this happened to both my wife and I. When the time was over I told the manager I was disappointed with the quality of the bowling lanes and they offered a refund but I did not take it, I just told them they need to fix this. After reading many of the reviews I see they has been a number of issues with the bowling lanes and this appears an issue that management cannot fix or does not care to fix and this is a shame but I dont plan to go back, there are other bowling alleys locally that I will go to. I was there the other day with my great-grandchildren ages 8 and 12. The main reason I'm writing this review is to point out how disappointed the kids and their mother were when they entered the bumper cars. Personally, there is not enough room to maneuver around and it didn't last very long. To spend 20 points is a total waste. The other activities were fine, and they enjoyed them. I think you should put some billiard tables in place of the bumper cars. read more

My kids love bowling, rock climbing and the arcade. We have been coming here for 9 months weekly or bi-weekly. Out of all of the visits, we have had good service once, that was our first trip. Tonight for example, we chose a VIP lane. No one came to wait on us, I was at the bar twice (with no bartender) and after 13 minutes a manager came by as he noticed I was wanting something. He sent a waiter who dropped off menus and said, "let me know if you need something" and then started to take off. My wife stopped him and said we were indeed ready to at least order drinks. We ordered beer which arrived soon after but my kids sodas took another 17 minutes. It took 30 minutes for my kids to get a drink. On a previous trip we sat in the outdoor dining area just to eat, no games or pool. We waited 20 minutes for a waiter to acknowledge us and it was not busy at all. On many trips the servers do not know what the specials are, do not know what beer is on tap, do not know that you can add grenadine to Coke to make a cherry Coke, or they are new and being trained which is more often the case at this establishment. For management, you are running a bowling alley that serves food at the lanes. People eat while bowling. Unfortunately, there is some maintenance related to this as many people do not wash their hands every time after they eat and proceed to bowl. We were using towels to wipe the balls and it didn't matter. There is grease all over the lanes, ball returns and no matter how much you clean the ball, it will return greasy. I would think any employee who bowls here would recognize this and say something. The food is OK. I find it funny that we have ordered the artisan meat and cheese board several times which according to the menu changes with the chef's daily selection. It has never changed, same stuff every time. Was bowling in the regular area, lane got stuck twice, a bit annoying since time is going by off the hour that's paid. First time lane was stuck for 15 minutes I wrote a negative Yelp review while waiting for the lane to be fixed. When it got stuck the 2nd time and we notified the staff, the manager Will came over and told us he would move us to the VIP area and wanted to make things right after reading the Yelp review. They offered me some game cards which I declined because I'm not out for freebies. So the day started as a 1 star, but I'll have to give them a 5 now for the effort to make things right. ALERT! PINSTACK ALLEN stay away. Walked in with my family 10 minutes ago and it was complete chaos. Was standing in line to get on bowling lane wait list with my youngest son when a very rude guy cut in line in front of us. I nicely informed him there was a line when he cussed me out saying "shut the *^%# up "@&$)". General Manager named Will was standing right there and I asked if they were going to allow verbal assault in a family business. He informed me the guy shouldn't use that language but his lane was up and asked us to leave. REALLY! Two other nice guys in line were appalled and calling the idiot out for talking to a woman in this manner. Thank you for standing up for us. Shame on me for leaving Rockwall. First and last time I plan to visit this Pinstacks. I was very excite to try this place with my family but upon arriving, that excitement transitioned to frustration and then regret. Evening of Dec 26, 2022 with only 3 patrons in the restaurant we were told a 45-60 minute wait because they only had one server. Finally sat down and restaurant now filled with 40 people. Took 15 minutes to get a server to come to our table and take drink order, sat there another 20 minutes after drinks where dropped off and then asked by another server if we wanted to order. 2.5 hour wait on bowling when not all lanes are filled and only one attendant at the desk. Several games broken, bathroom's disgusting, and bar out of several things. Food sitting on the bar for 20 minutes before being delivered to a bowling lane. No one seems know what's going on and absolutely understaffed or inefficient...probably a mixture of both. Needless to say this first time experience left a lasting impression, unfortunately not one that would lead to second visit. read more

Got double charged for an online reservation ultimately paying almost $600 to bowl for 1.5 hours. It took me 2 days to get ahold of ANY manager willing to talk to me. The receptionist are really good at tip toeing around putting a manager on the phone as I was informed Their GM was supposedly the only one that could deal with it directly in their system and magically was in a meeting the first day I called. I called several times between 10a and 6p that day in the hopes that I'd catch him after the meeting only to be told he was still in it. It was mentioned they let their other managers know about the issue however was never offered for me to speak to anyone other then the unavailable GM.The first receptionist I talked to (Pamela) was very rude and cut me off mid sentence and told me to "Pause" while I was explaining being double charged. I did not appreciate this and it basically set the tone for the rest of the issue resolution for me. I called again the day after to be told their GM was not working that day luckily Donna was a manager on duty and willing to help which is why I'm not leaving a 1 star review. She was very professional and helped us in a timely manner sadly no one was able to refund our double charge due to a technicality and it was recommended to dispute the charge with the bank instead. The lack of professionalism and customer service with this issue, aside from Donna, is unreal even their GM not having the common courtesy to call back after his "8 hour" meeting knowing he would be off the following day is ridiculous and makes them seem money hungry. Donna girl you deserve a promotion! The reception staff needs to work on their customer service and at this point I'm convinced their GM doesn't even exist. read more

We came here with our family -- including 2 and 4 year olds -- for the first time yesterday. The place was immediately overwhelming to both my kids; they couldn't decide what to run to first. We came to bowl so we headed over there. The bowling lanes appeared quite loud and packed tight and since our kids had never been bowling before, I thought the VIP "lounge" might offer a more controlled environment... Unfortunately, that wasn't really the case. The lanes are still far too loud with holiday music absolutely blasting from the speakers. Wow what to say... The food was so bad one of us sent it back and the others ate maybe a total of 3 bites. The waiter/bartender was a bit of a smartass and condescending acting from the moment he stepped up to our table. Woke up this morning so sick too and I haven't been sick in years. Wouldn't be shocked if it was the food that was the culprit. When we went bowling, our lane was down multiple times while our time just kept running. The good: The layout supports having a great time doing lots of things...you can bowl, you can play arcade games, you can eat, you can let the kids do the climbing wall or the ropes course, and everything is segregated from everything else, so it doesn't get too chaotic. The system they have to check in and wait for your bowling lane is high tech. The menu is good sized and offers quite a few options. The bad: prepare to spend quite a lot, especially if you bring the kids. A family of 4 who wants to bowl and let the kids enjoy the arcade, bumper cars, and ropes course plus eat dinner is going to get into the $150 range pretty fast. Had such a wonderful time at Pinstack tonight! Every employee we encountered was beyond friendly! From the people greeting us at the door, to the young men running the laser tag, I was beyond impressed! We had some problems with a card reader and a guy quickly fixed it and gave us a few extra points for our time. Prices were also super reasonable! I want to start by saying that we have come here many times with minimal problems. We've even had 2 birthday parties here. Our last visit, however, has completely changed my mind about this location. It started out by going to the counter to rent a lane. The girl just stared at us. We finally started the conversation by saying "We would like a lane for an hour". She rolled her eyes & replied, "We're on a wait." How are we supposed to know that if she doesn't even speak? But we were like okay, whatever. We got game cards & decided to play games while we waited. That was fine. Finally after about 45 minutes to an hour, we were called that a lane was ready. We go over and get an hour. We even told the girl (same one at the counter as earlier) that we would do an hour, but if we wanted to keep bowling, we would add an hour later. She said that was fine. Our server at our lane was fine. He messed up our drink orders 3 times, but he apologized, saying he was new. We said that was fine because at least he was nice, unlike the girl earlier. We ordered some food and appetizers (a little overpriced but nothing new). Food was fine. Then after about 30 minutes, we decided we wanted to add an hour. Our server told us to go back to the main bowling counter. We did, and were told that we couldn't because they were on a waitlist. If this is their rules, whatever, it's stupid but that's fine. Our main problem is that no one told us earlier. We would've started out with two hours. The girl acted like we could add an hour later (even though they were ALREADY on a waitlist). This ruined our afternoon honestly. The icing on the cake was that when our bowling finished, we were changing our shoes & 2 employees were standing right in front of us like vultures to clean our lane! They had the cleaning supplies and everything, just staring at us until we left. So unprofessional. I get that you're busy but really? But yeah, this has completely changed our opinion.
