This was a very busy, popular spot for happy hour! But Pinstripes offers pretty good drink specials, which clearly draws in a crowd! The wait for a patio spot was long (1 hour), so we dined inside which was available for immediate seating. The veggie flatbread and angel hair pasta my friends ordered were "ok" options (flavor was lacking), but the prime rib sandwich is definitely something a person would make a return trip for! We were all delighted with our meals, that's hard to say when you have eight people ranging in age from 9 to 74! We had only been to pinstripes for brunch which we love (chocolate fountain, enough said.) I guess I was most jealous of my husband and father who had filet mignon cooked three ways with cheese broiled on the top for two of the ways. I'm not even sure why the waiter delivered steak knives because you could've cut that steak with a fork. My 1st time to Pinstripes was wonderful! First of all the building itself is pretty great! Outside seating by a fire pit with complimentary blankets! Say what!!!!? There are other seating options throughout the building on the deck, at the bar, and various tables. If you're looking for a fun place with activities, food, and drinks, then you've found it! Weather it is a birthday celebration, wedding dinner rehearsal, or just a night out, this is the place to be! Pinstripes has various specials throughout the week on bowling, drinks, etc.... I came here with my wife to enjoy a late Sunday lunch. She had the Prime Rib Dip and said it was very good. She said the fries were very nice. I had the Italian Beef Pizza, grilled beef with onion and peppers. The crust was crunchy and had a nice chew to it. It did absorb the juice from the meat as I eat and got a bit soggy.. One thing that liked was that there was bits of crunchy pickled carrot that added a bit of contrast in texture and flavor to the dish. For a starter, they brought flat bread with pesto that was warm, crunchy, and delicious. I could have made a meal of that! For desert we shared a bowl of Thin Mint Gelato that was creamy and delicious with just the right level of mint. The restaurant has a great deck with bowling and bocce. There was a fire pit in the front, but it was 86deg and not the sort of thing I wanted to take advantage of. The inside is nicely decorated and they play good music. They have a whole smoked salmon, a chocolate fountain, BYO omelets and scrambled eggs, bacon, waffles.... For $5 they have a BYO bloody mary bar as well. They have the option for just absolut or absolut peppar. Ask your server/bartender for a red Pinstripes wristband and you get a complimentary glass of red or white wine when you come in. Seabass was kind of too welldone and weirdly the salad that came with it was salted. The risotto was nothing special. Very unidimentional. To have seabass at a bowling alley, I should have known better. My husband had the seafood tagliatelle and shrimp was also over cooked. The lump crab was decent in there. We had their calamari and it was good. The hummus was pretty average. Tastes grocery bought. The fried mozzarella cheese was good. A little better than average. I'd have to admit service was top notch! Orders were taken quickly and server returned many times to check up on us. Food came fast. Refills were never missed. We have been here the past three years for our company's annual party. Overall its been a good experience. Setting up a party is very easy and all questions are answered promptly. The food has always been amazing and we have done both a sit down served meal and buffet style - both nice in their own way. The room minimums have gone up quite a bit each year, but its a very popular place so I do understand. They do charge to use any AV equipment, and quite a bit, so bring your own if you can. During events they are very attentive and do ensure the evening goes smooth. The transition from dinner to bowling is always great and our team has a great time while bowling Our most recent time there they suggested I had more people than my contract stated, which was not the case, and was a little off putting. It was a beautiful day in Edina and my wife and I had $40 coupon from the Strib for Pinstripes. We entered the establishment and it was a large place. They had upper and lower levels. Outside they had a sweet fire going outside to warm you up if needed. The menu was full of awesome options and we saw many pizzas go by which looked amazing. The crusts looked thick and doughy and faces were happy when they were delivered. I ordered the Italian BBQ pulled pork and my wife got the soup. She really liked it and I had a few bites. Yummy. The BBQ Pork came with some skinny fries with lots of parmeson and garlic on them. Amazing. The sandwich came with crispy onion strips on top which groped the sauce quickly. It was really good. The sauce was a little to sweet, I would have like some heat in it, but it was good. We ordered the BBQ shrimp as an appetizer, which was about 8 small shrimp on top of a slice of bread with a real good sauce, but I was expecting about 20 big shrimps in a cone, but overall, it was good. The sauce was creamy, but it was good if not a little too salty. Won't return for a 2nd visit. My first visit to Pinstripes was enough for me. We visited Pinstripes on July 3rd. While we were seated promptly on the outdoor patio it took some time before our server came to our table - they didn't even acknowledge use with a "I'll be right with you". Instead another table that was seated after us, and right next to our table, was greeted first and had their drink order taken - only after that did the server then come to our table and immediately tell us that they were short staffed today and apologized for the delay. OK, fine - I can live with that. We were not given water, or asked if we wanted any. After about 5 minutes - some bread was brought to our table. While the bread was good - served with oil and basil mixture - there was not salt or pepper shakers on the table at all - the whole time. We ordered our dinner - I ordered the Caesar Salad with grilled shrimp (Salad was $10, shrimp was extra $4). We had to ask for extra bread as they never came back to inquire with us. When the salad arrived it was almost devoid of dressing - I took my first bite and could not even taste any dressing so I had to ask for a side of dressing to add some (see photo) In addition - the 'grilled shrimp' had to have been grilled earlier in the day and put in the refrigerator as it was not warm at all. In fact, it was not even room temperature, it was cool to the touch. I told our server and she had to bring me some fresh shrimp that was in fact warm as it should have been served. A blue moon beer was $6 which seems a bit high for a restaurant- although it was served in a chilled glass. At the conclusion of our meal, we were not even offered dessert, simply brought the check, which was placed on the table as the server walked by. The menu really did not have many options that appealed to me and the food quite frankly was just average - nothing that would draw me back there for a 2nd visit and based on this first experience I most definitely will not return. While it might be fun for bowling, and the atmosphere is nice, the food and service leaves alot to be desired. read more

I've been to pinstripes about 4 times for various occasions: Sunday brunch, late night happy hour, afternoon happy hour (outside) and a mid-day meal inside. I have enjoyed each visit and I always left with a happy belly! Today, I met a few friends after work for the patio happy hour and I must say I was impressed. There are a ton of tables outside to accommodate groups, small parties and families. We had a reservation and my party of 3 was sat at a lovely 4-top with plenty of room for our plates and beverages. We each ordered wine and a flatbread and shared a side of fries. Everything was delicious and we even each walked away with a box of leftovers. I had the tuna flatbread - YUMM!! Our server was training another server which was confusing because they were tag teaming our table, but never introduced themselves or presented the situation so the whole time it just seemed like random people were walking up to our table. We were busy chatting so it didn't matter much, but still, it was a little odd. The entry way is also kind of confusing. The first host you come to wasn't very helpful because we said that we had a reservation and they apparently refer to the restaurant as the "bistro"... so it took a good 30 seconds to understand where to go to see the next host to be seated. If they simply called it the restaurant that might help. Overall I love the visits I have had to pinstripes and look forward to coming back on occasion! read more

I have never been treated this way by a food establishment and Pinstripes has now earned many loyal customers! My friend and coworker was planning a very quick ceremony/vow exchange on the lake outside of Pinstripes and the gazebo was covered in snow. So, we popped into Pinstripes (first time ever!) for some cocktails and light appetizers while we figured out a plan. The bar staff were so accommodating and welcoming to our group of roughly 12 adults and 10 children (!) They were kind and attentive. The manager on duty realized the situation and quickly came up with a solution on their patio area and the results were fantastic! The bride was full of joy and tears from his fast acting and caring! As we were leaving, my wife (who is a chef) commented that she was watching the plates coming from the kitchen and couldn't wait to return for dinner (the bride & groom had a reservation somewhere else for that evening unfortunately). Came in because of the promos being sent out to loyal customers - met someone at the bar and ordered based on 2 separate promos - a free pizza and a bogo salad/sandwich. The bartender gave us one bill and told us it was "free pizza night" - so he didn't charge for the pizza. I said thank you and then let him know I also had promos - and then he freaked out...said we couldn't use more than one and he couldn't split the bill. He used the "f" word multiple times starting with "you've got to be f***ing kidding me" and then just "f***", "f***, "f***. Unfortunately, the assistant manager Josh was of no help - he gave me a bill that was bigger than the original bill and wouldn't correct it - and said I could leave without paying and then I would be banned from returning. Long story short - I don't know how a bartender can come over and say it's "free pizza night" and then freak out because I have a buy one get one promo to use and then insist that 2 separate individuals - both of us who drove separately to pinstripes - must be considered one party. That said, we ended up paying full price for our two entrees just because the manager wouldn't budge and I needed to leave to get my child picked up from school. Shameful. Here's the deal. I really want to like pinstripes. But I just don't. They have an all you can eat brunch -- and if that's your thing great. It's too expensive for me and when that's going on you can't order anything else. The late night menu is very restricted. As someone with food restrictions the menu in general just doesn't cut it. We had our wedding reception here and everything was perfect. The food, the servers and the atmosphere were all terrific! We had appetizers and drinks to start off the cocktail hour that included meatball sandwiches and other finger foods. For dinner, we had a variety of family-style options, including pasta, two different kinds of salads, chicken and desserts. Everything was wonderful! Our guests kept saying how much they enjoyed the food at the tables and how much fun they had bowling, playing bocce ball and sitting outside by the fire pit on the patio outside. Came in for lunch with my cousin who was in town. He had beaten me to the table by about 15 minutes. I appreciated that the host and server had taken care of him until I arrived. A lite chutney and toasted pita strips kept him company until I arrived. Had we not been on company time, we would have LOVED to take part in one of the many beverages displayed. Looks like a great Tap/Wine collection. We had the open-faced Salmon Sandwhich which was quite nice. Can't complain though personally, I thought it was odd that the most remarkable part of the dish was the toast with the aioli that was the base of the Salmon. It tasted good. I wish I could say more. The salmon dolloped with a lite tomato pico didn't do anything incredible for either of us. The salad was fine. I wish I could be more WOW-ed. If I was to make any recommendation to potential guests, I would suggest to 1) get an adult beverage! 2) plan to take advantage of the bocce or the bowling for the entertainment. The restaurant just seems a little confused. Go for the entertainment/catering of a large group. Don't go for the food because I don't know that it could stand alone if the bar and games were not present. That said, I would come back and would definitely recommend trying a different option before deciding whether to return again. It's definitely a pillar in the community though perhaps of a different time/chef. My recommendation to them would be to continue to push the envelope. Perhaps the SLP/Edina crew has made it easy on them to coast on their location and reputation of old. And a minor comment but something to consider, the shirts of the gentlemen who work with guests are a gorgeous color and create a nice mood. We both eat vegetarian food outside and we're very pleasantly surprised by the tasty, abundant and creative dishes we ate ! They offer blankets and a fire area on the the deck and a great view of Centennial Lakes park, where you can also play mini golf. Try this place!
