Another great meal here at the P and B! The service is good and the food is great. It has been a while since we been here and tonight was great. The wings and gumbo are great as anything else we had in the past. If I lived closer to Palestine I am sure I would be a regular. If you have a day that you want to go for a nice drive, the area is beautiful. I can say for daytime hours, this is a family friendly place. Can not say for evening, we were just visiting. They have indoor and outdoor seating with a relaxing atmosphere. When you first walk in take about 5 more steps and you are at the bar and ordering/paying station. You can order and pay or start a tab. Then go seat yourself and they will find you with your food in hand. Don't expect to be waited on otherwise. My friend and I both ordered the Little Piggy and could have easily split. For 9.99 you get a large sandwich filled with wonderful lightly smoked tender pulled pork. Has pickles, red onions and just the right amount of a sweet bbq sauce. I cut mine and half and had the other half later cold and it was still wonderful. They also give you these semi curly fries. Sort of a oven steak fry meets curly fry. Wonderfully crispy on the outside and soft and yummy on the inside. As if that doesn't get you over full, they have a small severing of cole slaw. It's your traditional southern coleslaw with a slightly creamy mayo sauce. If their crushed granite parking lot is full, just park uphill at the church overflow. read more

With a rotating wall of a variety of real craft beer and delicious pub fare, order at the bar and mix with the locals. We'll be back as often as possible. We came to Palestine for a wedding. Having never been to Palestine before and getting hungry at suppertime I used yelp and found this place. Trusting the ratings we went here for supper and it was great. From the building, the people and service, to the food it was great. My wife had the pulled pork and I the beer brat sandwich. Of course I tasted a few beers on draft and my wife not liking beer drank a pear cider that was suggested and enjoyed it. Husband and I stopped in to eat here on our way home to Austin. He had the pulled pork sandwich and I had the brat wurst. You can't go wrong with the pulled pork delicious tender pork served on a soft yeast bun with large curly fries and coleslaw. I tried his sandwich and it was fantastic moist pork great flavorings cooked perfectly. The brat wurst sandwich was served on a delicious hoagie roll with grilled onions, sauerkraut and a spicy yellow mustard everything about it was perfect except the bratwurst-unfortunately it was the worst wurst I've ever had -didn't even taste like bratwurst and it was very mushy. that said the bread was fantastic the onions and sauerkraut were great delicious perfectly cooked curly fries and hands-down the best coleslaw I've ever had! read more

We were in town for the polar express. In the past it was tough to find a good place to go and grab a bite with the kids. There will not be any doubt we will be back next year. Very cool setting here refurbished building which is a favorite thing for me. Gotta love it. Special order al la carte of pulled pork, 2 fried eggs and french fries with water drink. We enjoyed the rustic back yard feel here. Everyone was friendly and very hospitable. The bar tender was enjoyable and knew the beers on tap and how each tasted. She gave us samples until we found our favorite which didn't take long. The food was good. I had the Cuban sandwich which I was told was authentic, I can't be a judge of that because I've never had a Cuban sandwich before this but I enjoyed it. My wife had the pulled pork which was also very good, but what really made it rock was adding the coke slaw to it which was some of the best slaw I've ever had. We will definitely be back next time we are back in town. Also I loved the beer he's with my fries. Great stuff. read more

The day after eating the Cuban sandwich, my feet and legs swelled from the excess sodium. It seems that this is a common problem with food establishments. Those of us whose doctors have told us to cut down on salt are the ones who suffer at the hands of cooks who have dead tastebuds and a heavy hand with salt. People can add salt, but I can't remove it and it ruins my enjoyment for eating out. read more

The fries are great, they are crispy and seem like a chip and fry had a child. The coleslaw had Apple and was so good. I normally don't eat coleslaw. My family also loved the patty melt with beef, the chicken strips, and the buffalo chicken sandwich. 3 out of 5 needed a to go box. Prices were great. This is the place to go in Palestine for a good burger. Try the Super Chief, if you get a chance. The burger includes a split sausage and a sunny side up egg. I also enjoy the Buffalo Chicken with Bacon Sandwich. It is great with a little ranch. The only reason I give 4 stars is that the fries are often a little overdone, in my opinion. Great beer selection, as well. The restaurant is in a historic building in "Old Town" and has a lot of charm. They also have darts and board games available to play. read more

My wife and I have tried several menu options but her favorite is the 1 Little Piggy (pulled pork sandwich) and mine is by far the Thunder Chief (a way over the top exercise in challenging one's self control which I continually fail at). 18 beers on tap, the brewers of which constantly change but style of brew remains consistent. It is like the Pandora of beer in Palestine. The service is remarkably pleasant and attentive. The environment is cozy, comfortable, and well thought out. Picnic tables outside with patio heaters and a nice fire pit nearby on the grassy lawn. You can't go wrong here. Food is good, beer is cold! And it is a pretty cool place.
