"Chicken Teriyaki" - marinated & grilled with teriyaki sauce and a side salad
    Donovan H.

Seattle offers its fair share of excellent Asian restaurants. Whether you're craving Chinese, Vietnamese, Japanese, or Laotian, this city offers a very diverse selection. So when I looked up for Thai restaurants with respectable Yelp reviews, "Pinto Thai Bistro & Sushi Bar" came up. Located in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle and directly on E. Broadway, this very popular restaurant is located directly in between E. Republican St. and E. Harrison St. And considering this place has been going strong since 2010, there's a reason why customers keep coming back here. One of which is their variety. They serve a ton of food on their menu. Which may or may not necessarily be a good thing. Here you will find your basic Thai dishes but also a very impressive sushi menu. Everything from classic Maki rolls (classic, veggie, & signature), Omakase (Nigiri or Sashimi), and other Japanese items including Teriyaki, Gyoka, Tataki, and Tempura. Finally, they have a nice assortment of soups, salads, pan fried noodles, fried rice, curries, and Wok Fares. The hours of operation are very respectable as they are open seven days a week from 11:30am to 9:30pm while being closed in between 3:00pm to 4:30pm during the week. And finally, they also have a Happy Hour that rolls out from 4:30pm to 6:00pm Monday through Friday. As far as the layout of this place, it is a bit on the smaller side so don't be surprised if you find yourself waiting for a table. However, this place does have a very modern, sleek look as well as being very cozy. During my visit, I arrived around 7:45pm during my visit as myself and my +1 were immediately seated. As far as what we ordered, I went with the "Pad See Eiw" with chicken as my protein of choice. This dish offers wide flat rice noodles stir-fried with eggs, carrots and broccoli in sweet soy sauce. My +1 went with their "Chicken Teriyaki" which was served with their signature house salad. Both our meals arrived within 10 minutes. The overall flavor, consistency, and value was definitely above average as this place serves very hearty portions and will definitely fill you up. Our waitress always made sure our iced waters were refilled which being very polite from the time we were seated until we left. If you're looking for that true Thai experience, I would suggest a few other popular restaurants such as "Buddha Ruska" or "Noi Thai Cuisine". But for a decent meal that offers a nice mix of Thai and sushi, I would definitely give "Pinto Thai Bistro & Sushi Bar" a try. My rating, four stars.

Hawaiian Fried Rice, Satay, Evergreen Roll
    Miku T.

tl;dr quick service and good food for takeout! I had gotten takeout from here as a quick night out because I was lazy to cook. I can say that the foods here were great and the takeout itself was ready super fast! I loved the evergreen rolls more than I did the satay - it had a minty taste along with the nice texture of the wrap and salad inside. It came with a great sweet-salty sauce that matched well. The satay was good - it just felt like dry chicken breasts though (the sauce was the redeeming factor). I think I would go with a different appetizer though. The Hawaiian fried rice was great - I had enough for lunch the next day. I loved the flavor and the textures (I've never had full cashews inside in a fried rice!) I would try this place again in person - when I went to pick up at 7pm on a Monday, it was completely empty.

    Pad Thai

I recently ordered pad Thai and their crispy garlic chicken to go and both dishes were delicious! The chicken was a little less crunchy and a bit more salty than I anticipated but it was super hearty and went really well with the vegetables on the side. The pad Thai was my favorite, I ordered it with chicken and spice level 3, which was spicy but not unbearably so. I ordered delivery directly from the website and had initially gotten an estimated 50min wait time but the food arrive within 20 minutes! I highly recommend checking this spot out, they have an extensive offering of dishes so they're bound to have something for everyone!

HH sushi rolls: Lava Roll, Ebi tempura roll, and Spicy Tuna Roll
    Doris W.

Came here last night with friends for dinner and ordered off their Happy Hour menu, which I think saw goes until 6 PM. The HH menu has more sushi than Thai food on it, but overall it was a good sized HH menu! We were a group of 5, and for a Tuesday night, at one point, we were the only ones eating at the restaurant. We ordered: - Red Chicken Curry $11 - Pad Thai Chicken $11 x2 - Spicy Tuna Roll - Lava Roll - Ebi Tempura Roll - edemame - crab rangoon x2 - albacore tataki The Pad Thai and the Red Curry were delicious, and everyone at the table enjoyed both Thai dishes! The Albacore tataki was the only thing not on HH menu, and I thought it was just ok. The sushi was good, nothing overly amazing, but we were glad the Thai food came out first, and the sushi rolls came out later. Overall, we had a pleasant experience here, and I would come back!

Ordered takeout on a Saturday night for celebrating our 1 yr anniversary at home and it was wonderful!! For apps we did the spring rolls (4/5)and crab Rangoon(5/5)!! For rolls we did the Spider roll, Dragon Roll, and lava roll. All were delicious and fresh!! We even got the mango sticky rice for dessert and it was some of the best we had ever had. Not a single bite was leftover! If your needing an excellent sushi place this is it! We will absolutely be back!

I decided to check this place out for lunch since it's close to work and it definitely exceeded my expectations. For one: their lunch deal is really good. It's rare to find lunch for around $10 now so this place caught my eye definitely. I got the ginger chicken with no rice and it was $10.50. since I didn't get rice, they gave me extra salad. The portions were pretty good. The dressings was a little weird but it's not bad. Portion was good too. I also got a California roll and surprisingly it was good. It's interesting to have a Thai and sushi place and do both pretty well but this place did it well. Overall, definitely will be back for lunch or going to try their happy hour soon.

In fact, the interior is so unique that you wouldn't immediately guess it's an Asian restaurant. The staff were friendly, though service was a bit inattentive; I found myself waiting longer than expected for basic things. Interestingly, when I ordered noodles and asked for chopsticks, they told me they didn't have any. It was quite a surprise to find an Asian restaurant serving noodles without chopsticks. As for the food, it was fine, but nothing memorable for the price. I've had better Asian food elsewhere in Seattle for less. If you're after a stylish, brunch-aesthetic spot to try Asian-inspired dishes, Di Fiora fits the bill. But if you're going purely for the flavors, you may leave underwhelmed.

These weren't your typical fries though. They were Dutch-style, coming topped with mayo, satay, onions, and chili sauce. A mix of Dutch and Indonesian flavors. This probably was my favorite dish. The combination of pungency, fattiness, crispiness, and spiciness was very good. It kind of reminds you of a plate of nachos, but the fries themselves have a better taste than a bed of chips would have. They manage to stay crispy almost until the end. The main dish I had was the South African Bunny Chow. This was a chicken masala curry inside a bread bowl, spilling out on either side. This was very solid as well. The curry tasted similar to a butter chicken - lightly spiced and creamy, but the chicken inside was quite juicy. The act of putting this inside a bread bowl was very cool. It made it easy to get both the bread and the curry in a single bite with a spoon I didn't like the dessert much, though. What I had was the chocolate malva, but the apricot was way too forward and the sweetness was missing. I tried the Danish cake as well but found this similarly disappointing. The price ended up being somewhat expensive, at around $45 per person after the meal, despite the deal. Portions were solid though. Overall, it's a cool avenue to try different street foods, but I wouldn't say anything special. 7.25/10
