I love thai food and it's very common in seattle. Happened to order food from Pinto via doordash a few weeks ago and was very pleased with their food. While I appreciate rich creamy food, sometimes the heart wants uncomplicated, easy on the stomach, less oily food while not compensating on flavor. This is where Pinto makes a mark. I have ordered twice from here and the food was consistently good both times. I loved their basil chicken which is minced chicken with a lot of basil, chilli's, bell pepper. The veggie delight wasn't mentioned in any of the reviews but I took a chance and was happy that it was full of flavor while being super green and no I don't mean celery (if you know you know). There was a whole lot of brocolli, carrots and other veggies. Another win was the starter, roti with curry dip. It's a tofu curry with a veggie medley. This one is creamy but pairs nicely with the roti which is quite oily. The food is reasonably priced but doordash adds a $ or 2 more on the dishes so the meal would be cheaper when dining in. If you are on the lookout for some delicious thai food, Pinto is a good bet. read more

This is literally the best Thai food I've had in Seattle!! Everything I've tried here is DELICIOUS, the tom yum is to die for and the curries are all phenomenal! This place is actually very spicy like typical Thai food, which I hadn't found in Seattle yet - spicy level 3 is perfect for me, anything more and I'd be sweating buckets. I am SHOCKED that this place is always empty, I hope it gets the recognition it deserves soon Plus, plenty of great gluten free options!! read more

If you've followed my check-ins and reviews, you may know that I love sushi. This love/addiction led me to having dinner at Pinto a couple of times. Maybe it's a few times at this point. In any case, I was sad to see it pretty slow and the sushi bar mostly empty each time, because the sushi set (nigiri + tuna roll + miso + salad) I had each time was quite good, and so was the service. I haven't had any Thai food there yet and the sushi was great one day and just "good" another, but I'll definitely be back next time I'm craving sushi in that part of Cap Hill. read more

I ordered the Pad Thai and the Lunch Sashimi Set. I really enjoyed both of the main dishes! The fish was really fresh. I'd been meaning to order Pad Thai for a while and it was as good as I'd hoped. I wasn't a huge fan of the salad both meals came with, but that was probably just personal preference (I don't like ginger and could really taste it in the dressing). This area of Broadway sure has changed because I did not realize how many new restaurants popped up within the last year. I decided to check out this place since happy hour was still going on. I found it interesting how they serve Thai and Japanese food. That's right, Thai AND Japanese food. There wasn't any item on the menu that was a fusion of the two. I noticed that the items for happy hour were mainly Japanese dishes. They don't have as extensive of a happy hour offering like other sushi joints (think Umi and Japonessa) but they had enough of a variety of foods to choose from. Because I wasn't trying to spend a crapload of money on sushi, I decided to start off with a side of steamed udon ($3.50). The udon was really simple, I'm not quite sure what they lightly seasoned it with but I enjoyed eating this. I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for something with a lot of flavor but its a a good side dish if you're really hungry. I also ordered the Seattle Roll and Sushi set A. I thought their Seattle Roll was balanced in flavor. A lot of the kaiten places usually put an overwhelming amount of cream cheese but Pinto does a good job of adding enough where you can make out the other ingredients. Sushi Set A only comes with 4 types of nigiri (refer to pic) but oh wow, I was impressed with how tender the fish was. I enjoyed it so much that I ordered a set of the salmon nigiri. Oh and happy hour isn't complete without a cocktail. I tried their lychee sake, which was good but on the sweeter side. Not too bad for a $4 happy hour drink! I would recommend sitting at the sushi bar if you come here alone or with one other person. Why? Because the sushi chef is so nice! He made sure I was happy with my food and was more than happy to take my orders. The next time I come back here, I am planning to check out their omakase dinner. read more

Had lunch with my husband here during the week. Super friendly staff, relatively clean and fast service. Beware on the spice levels! We love our spicy food but even my modest request for spice had some kick! My husband couldn't eat his cause it was too much for him. But, that being said the flavors were delicious. We will adjust our spice level next time. I had the chicken salad, similar or pretty much larb salad. My husband had the pad Thai. Both were equally good, and the portions were perfect for lunch. Yum! I love the Pad Thai here. I like things a bit on the sweet side and the Pad Thai was perfect for me. My friend got the garlic pepper chicken wok dish and it was very delicious as well. We ordered both dishes with 4/5 stars and the lady warned that this was Thai spice and would be pretty spicy. No. It was alright, definitely on the American spice scale so don't be shy. I would say this place was just okay. Pad Thai had a flavor of jelly, so a little too sweet and not spicy enough (I ordered medium). Tom yum broth was okay, but shrimp tasted like iodine and they used too many onions. Not terrible, but I'd try something else next time. read more

We love that there are both Thai and sushi options, so you'll always find something on the menu that fits your current mood. This is a little hole in the wall but well worth the trip! I had the crab fried rice and my hubby had the crispy garlic chicken. It was hot and fresh, cooked to perfection. I ordered from Pinto through the Yelp app. The food got to me on time, and the order was correct. I usually go for wide rice noodles, but I went for had the pad thai on a friend's recommendation. Most pad thai's fall into either the tangy category or the peanutty category, but Pinto toed the line spectacularly. The portion was large, and the 4 star spice level had plenty of kick to it. Pinto is Capitol Hill in a nutshell. I don't know where else I can find a restaurant specializing in both Thai food and sushi, but I appreciate the novelty. On the one occasion I've been here, I wasn't able to try their sushi, but the Pad Thai was good and gluten free! Service for me was fast and friendly. They also went through the trouble of garnishing the food. $11 is somewhat of a steep price to pay for a dish like this, but reasonable considering the area. We got the lunch specials. I got the khao soi and my friend got the chicken pad thai. Interesting how the pad thai comes with a scoop of rice. Both came with a small side salad. Both came out very fast. The khao soi was piping hot and flavorful! The texture differences in soft noodles and crispy noodles is something I didn't care for but some may like it. The pad thai here is great! You can tell the pad thai is lunch portion. I'd come back again to dine in. The takeout is good portion too from when I got it last year. read more

I came here earlier in the week to catch up with a friend I hadn't seen in a while. Luckily we got the happy hour prices still with 5 minutes to spare. She ordered gyoza and two rolls - spider and spicy tuna. I ordered sushi set A and a California roll. Sushi set A comes with a piece of hamachi, salmon, ahi, and one other I can't remember. The fish for the nigiri wasn't the best I've had but would do. The California roll was good but it's hard to mess those up in general. We both decided that we would come here again since it's a cheap but decent place to get sushi. It's not the best quality out there but will do the job. For the amount of sushi I bought, it cost me about $12. I gave a 4 star for the price, if I gave it only for the taste and quality I would have given it a 3. read more

We got beef curry friend rice with raisins and coconut, and veggies and pineapple, let me tell you: perfect! We also got chicken) red curry because I was craving it white rice! We just happened to be walking by the other day when we spotted this new addition to the Broadway Food Scene. Thai & Sushi you say? Madness! This means I can enjoy sushi while my boyfriend enjoys his favorite noodle dishes? Finally! Having opened about 2 weeks prior, they've done quite well to iron out any of the service kinks I've read about previously. The chef was quite nice and happy to substitute a minor request on my sushi set A. The summer rolls were something I had never tasted before. A warm version of a fresh roll using soy paper and a tamarind sauce, cut into quarters and topped with shredded carrot and green onion. The result: a dance of wonderful flavor in my mouth. So good that the boyfriend ordered some to-go for his dinner at work later. For my entree I had the Sushi Set "A" for $15 which came with a cute mixed green salad and a delightful miso soup. I know what you're thinking, miso, big deal. And it was. Simply because it was a perfectly constructed bowl of miso with all the traditional ingredients. Nothing more dominating than the other. And the green salad was great. Dressed with a mayo and tobiko sauce and what I think was just a touch of fried onion. The sushi itself was fresh, vibrant and artistically assembled by the chef with the cleanest and purest flavor profiles I have ever had at this price point. The boyfriend ordered the Phad Si Eew, one of his (and my) favorite Thai noodle dishes. Which by any standard fare can range from a boring under spiced brown gravy concoction or like this one, a perfectly sweet and tangy balance of perfection. Just the right mixture of broccoli and chicken served piping hot with a carrot flower on the side. Beautiful and tasty! The decor was something out of an art neuvo catalog with glowing wooden circles in green, purple and orange with white tables, chairs seat cushions and dishes. Nicely lit and very bright. It makes all the food just jump off the plate and into your mouth. A perfect venue when you want to brighten your day on a gloomy Seattle afternoon. I recommend this restaurant for anyone looking to mix it up with a little bit of two of my favorite worlds: Thai & Japanese. I was a little skeptical beacuse they combine sushi, thai, and teriyaki, that can never be good but I guess it's popular in NYC, LA, and Chicago. The nicely clean modern feel plus a little more convenient location for me made me give it a go. It was a Friday around 8 and there was no wait, PERFECT!! We sat at the sushi bar. At first the service was a little questionable, we weren't sure if we were supposed to order from the sushi chef or the waitress. It took a while to get some service. No chopsticks in our folded napkins are you serious? haha we are at an asian restaurant right? They could have kept my water glass filled.. so for those reasons minus one star The sushi chefs were extremely friendly! So bonus points there =) We ended up with.... 2 -Large sake 1-spicy hamachi roll 1- white king salmon sushi 2-orders of hamachi sashimi 1-fatty tuna sashimi-wasn't on the menu and compliments of the sushi chef 1-Pinto roll-spicy tuna, avocado, cucumber wrapped with yellowtail, lime, cilanto and jalapeno. (casino royale from UMI) Everything we had was so freakin' delicious snf presentation was impressive. I can't wait to try all their other items.. The quality of sushi is definitely here, These guys know what they are doing! I also like the fact that there isn't a bar so it's more relaxed/chill and doesn't get too crowded or too loud like Umi or Jaoponessa. The two of us paid $35 each a little pricey but well worth it!! One of my regular spots nowadays. I love Thai food and I love sushi. Put those two together and get... Pinto Thai Bistro & Sushi Bar! I sometimes just want to grab a bite on the way home from work so I usually either call in my order or order it though Yelp. Pretty convenient! Just make sure to give them at least 15 minutes before going to pick up your food. Regular favorite orders... Beef Pad Khee Mao with a Seattle Roll and Philly Roll Chicken Pad Thai with Seattle Roll, Spicy Scallop Roll, and Spicy Hamachi Roll Prices aren't too bad, they also have a decent happy hour that's daily until 6:30PM which I like to go to every once in a while! Random sidenote, no matter what, just don't order the chicken teriyaki! The texture of the chicken teriyaki was just unnerving, crunchy and rubbery, 2 things that do not go well together... This is a nice, small, and super clean sushi joint on Broadway. I only got some sushi while I was there, but they do offer other selections such as curries, soups, rice dishes, ect that all sounded really good. There seemed to be only one server for the whole place, which was totally fine at the time (maybe only 3 tables occupied), but I wonder if that would become a problem when more people are around. The salmon skin salad is pretty good; although, they are a bit heavy on the dressing. They have a lot of your standard sashimi/sushi options. The unagi roll is really good as are any of the tempura rolls. This place isn't super expensive; however, I feel for the quality and portion sizes that you get some of the options should be a bit cheaper. read more

Great food, great service, great decor... definitely will be back here again. Walked past this new restaurant one night and decided to pop back in later with my little lady. The restaurant is a fusion between Thai and Japanese, so we decided to get a little of both. We ordered the Tuna Poke for an appetizer. Little fresh bits of raw tuna served with cucumber, seaweed, cilantro, and other seasoning all colorful served in a martini glass (check out my photo). Was very fresh and tasty. For the Thai side we went typical and ordered Phad Thai (recommended from the reviews on here), also very good. The owner, who also happened to be pregnant AND our waitress due to a short-staffed night, was super friendly and pretty amazing woman (due in October!!). Between the taste, variety of food, service, and ambiance wrapped up in to this find (and of course my partner in crime)... found myself walking away a happy man. read more

As a meat eater I am a fan of Pinto. They generally have delicious sashimi and nigiri. Unfortunately, todays order was not so great. My wife is vegetarian. Normally, when we order they separate the vegetarian and meat products. The order today had combined the veggie rolls and fish rolls in the same container and they were mixed together and touching. Not a big deal - this happens. It makes for a sad vegetarian though. Fortunately, Pinto was willing to re-send the veggie part of the order. Unfortunately, the bad news does not stop there. The Hawaiian fried rice with Tofu turned out to have Chicken Surprise. The chicken looks close enough to egg that it wasn't detected until too late. So, I decided to call again and cancel the order they were re-sending. When I called the person I talked to was reasonable and listened to my complaints about the food. He did end up refunding part of the order. However, he complained initially because we had placed a moderately large order (~$80) and was afraid I was going to ask for a full refund. I was not really calling for a refund I just wanted to cancel the order he was re-sending so it was a pleasant surprise that he was willing to refund the veggie part. So I am willing to try again as they may have just been having a bad day. But, messing up 2 vegetarian orders is pretty bad so I have to give this warning to vegetarians out there. read more

The chicken pad thai was honestly very delicious, but the medium green curry was good but came in very small servings considering its price. Pretty disappointed by their portioning and pricing. My office orders lunch from here once or twice a month. The food is consistently great and today was no exception. Most of our staff are creatures of habit and always order the same thing. Today I made a mistake on my boss's food when placing the order (I didn't even realize it) and the restaurant actually called me to see if it was in fact a mistake.
