Everything tastes fresh and homemade, especially the pasta. You can tell they actually care about the quality and the flavors, not just throwing things together. One thing I noticed while wandering around Old San Juan is that some restaurants likely survive on location and foot traffic alone, while others earn people seeking them out. Semilla definitely felt like the latter. It's tucked just around the corner from some of the busiest pedestrian areas, so it felt like we escaped the crowds for a little while without actually going very far. Overall, I'd happily come back. If you're staying nearby and looking for a good meal without being surrounded by the busiest tourist crowds, Semilla is well worth checking out.
