Since my dog has such a thick coat, they even give me an extra drying token at no additional charge so I can finish drying her properly. That kind of customer service is hard to find. They also have a great variety of treats and pet supplies, and if they're ever out of something I need, they're happy to order it for me. I always bring my golden retriever, and snacks are always given and appreciated. But this review is mostly geared towards the dog wash. (I've never had an issue with any other product I've purchased from this location. Everything has been great, and gobbled up with quick enthusiasm.) I've used the dog wash at this location before, so I'm familiar with it. Pop the token in, select the shampoo button and away we go. The sales gal even made sure that it was disinfected before my dog got in. Much appreciated there. My problem came when there was barely any suds on my dog. Like, none. Same for the conditioner. The instructions say to scrub by hand then rinse off with the nozzel. I couldn't, it was like there wasn't any soap at all. I rinsed him anyway, used some of my own towels I brought to sop up the water on him, (I always do, his coat holds so much water), and then I put his leash on and walked him back up front to tell the gal what was happening. I don't want it to seem like I was "ignored", she addressed my concern, but made the excuse of "hypoallergenic soap doesn't really have a strong scent." So, we returned to the room, blow dried, and came back up to the desk to pay. Another employee was there now and asked how everything went. "Not to well, I don't think he's clean, there wasn't a lot of soap." To which he replied "well, it's a low flow." Low flow. I honestly feel like I paid $15 to get my dog wet and blow dry him. (I disinfected the tub myself before I left the room and honestly found more suds in the disinfectant than the "shampoo" option to wash my dog.) Fine. I feel like I was brushed off. Too bad, because I was actually looking to get some more dog treats while I was there today, but no thanks. I'll go to the other location in Citrus Heights and purchase what I need there. Thanks for having a clean store and a huge selection tho. The store is very well stocked and has so much for both cats and spoiled dogs.

They weren't just sitting nervously in cages -- they were comfortably perched on their own branches, relaxed, curious, and clearly at ease in their environment. You can tell these birds are genuinely cared for, socialized, and treated as individuals while they wait for the right homes. I spent at least half an hour talking with one of the associates about caring for a Green-cheeked Conure I am rescuing elsewhere. I never felt rushed, and they answered so many questions that I left feeling much more confident about bringing him home. More importantly, I now know I have somewhere I can come for advice, supplies, and ongoing care in addition to his avian veterinarian. They have just about anything you could need for your birds, and I found their prices more than fair. They also offer services including nail and wing grooming, bathing, and boarding, which is incredibly convenient. I take pet ownership very seriously, no matter what kind of animal I bring into my home, so seeing the level of knowledge, care, and respect Parrotopia has for these birds meant a lot to me. I didn't rescue my bird through them, but they have absolutely earned my business for his supplies and future care. It really feels like they don't just want to sell you a bird or supplies -- they want both you and your bird to succeed together. That is exactly the kind of business I want to support.

Had settled on getting a Green Cheek Conure; more specially a "Pineapple" color variation. The main staff here are very friendly, knowledgeable, and caring when it comes to the birds they own. As soon as we walked in we saw some many individual birds out of their cages, and saw staff holding the baby birds and socializing them other staff and customers. Along with the wide variety of birds here, Parrotopia also has a wide selection of bird related items, like perches, toys, treats and food. Definitely a spot worth checking out, whether you're interested in a bird or just birth accessories.

While several others were brought out that we could interact with and or hold. I liked that the larger birds were primarily hand raised, which traditionally makes them more social and pet friendly. Definitely something we were looking for, as far as temperaments, for birds. That we'd like to have out of the cage, and that were be socialized with by the family. It was a little light on the amount of birds at the time of our visit, to which one of the store reps noted to come back between March-May. As that's when a lot of breeders would be stopping in with baby birds. So there will be a larger selection coming in within the next couple of months. There was a lot a large variety of bird accessories and food options, from the mixed feed time that you could by custom quantities of. Unfortunately the collar did not fit my Frenchie. When I tried to return it the next day, I was told I could not because it had been opened.i understand some return policies are strict, but I felt that since the recommendation came from their staff, they could of been more flexible or at least made sure I purchased the right size. I was offered a $5.00 discount instead , but when I checked the shelf the price I paid yesterday, it was the same as today. 69.95 and when asked I was told oh it should of been $5.00 Higher. It was disappointing because I spent over $200. On other products there, and felt like I was not treated fairly as a customer. I do appreciate the friendliness of the staff but I think the store policies could be more accommodating, especially when the mistake is made on their recommendation.
