Do Not trust this guy. He is arrogant and so full of himself that it should be enough to look elsewhere. We asked him to do a job for us to replace a shower body. He removed the tiles and replaced the shower body but did not test it. He told us to have a tile guy replace the tiles which we did. When we told him it was done he refused to finish the job unless we gave him more money. He was arrogant and very nasty. We hired another plumber to finish the job and he told us it had been done incorrectly and a wrong part was installed. He also said the price we were charged was exorbitant. He contacted Pipe Doctor and had them pay for the correct part, which he then installed. This guy is an overpriced, overblown, arrogant jerk. If I could give him zero stars I would. read more

Buyer beware - I had them install a new air conditioner compressor. Months later, the wall bracket came off the house and the compressor started to fall. They came and fixed it. A few months later the AC system stopped working. They came over to look at it and charged us $700 to recharge the system with Freon. Two days later, it was back in the same condition. I called the contractor that installed the original system to assess the condition and make the repairs. He found that the line set that was installed to the compressor was installed with the wrong size collar. The installer apparently used braising to make up for the difference in size. The piece failed. The owner of Pipe Doctor claimed I couldn't prove he did it. Perhaps it was the original installer after all those years. He became belligerent, defensive and resorted to name-calling. I told him the money he took from us won't change our lives, but I will not stop letting other potential buyers know what has happened here. Do yourself a favor. This company might do good work but the attitude that the entire staff has... is just unbearable. No one showed up to my appt and then the actual OWNER had the nerve to get on the phone as if it was my fault. Said he sent me a text for me to confirm appt. I said I never received a text. The owner said he texted the number that sent him the pictures of the work that I needed. Since I never actually text anyone pictures, but I uploaded the pictures to his website.... I suggested that maybe you were texting your website. The language that he began using was just too unprofessional for me to be spending my money at this company. Did an AC replacement for us and couldn't be happier. Mike made the process as stress free as can be. It's hard to find a company that is reliable and trustworthy, and I'm happy we found Mike and his team. We had a little hiccup after the install with a vent not working how it should be and he quickly stopped by and fixed it the next day. Searched for thermal Leak detection on yelp and found pipe doctor. I spoke to Mike which was extremely informative on how to proceed. Booked service for the next day. Not that I'm a customer -probably for the best but the owner should either not pickup the phone when he's in a bad mood or have someone more personable be first contact with new potentials! Right away with a combatant attitude about my job as I described it to him, then to top it off almost hung up on me telling me he's not interested in my job because I don't live within his direct area! Hired them to come out and replace our toilet, they took off the old toilet and THEN advised us we got the wrong toilet size (I didn't know this was a thing), and then tried to charge us $200 for the uninstall and reinstall of the toilet. They could have told us it was the wrong toilet BEFORE taking off our old one, or told us the correct toilet to purchase BEFOREHAND. Then when we asked to have the $200 dropped to $115 as it was an error on both sides - the tech said fine but do not call us back again. When we offered to go get the new toilet and pay a trip fee, that should have settled the matter as it was more than fair - quite a ridiculous attitude for a "business". read more

This is a follow up to my 5 star review in Spring of 2018. Mike replaced our Navien boiler in 2018 and I was very pleased by his service. In 2019 I placed several calls to have our Navien boiler serviced but despite speaking with the office and emailing, my calls were never returned. I attempted again few months later to have it serviced by my calls and emails were never returned again. I figured they were busy and not interested in "small job" like mine so I requested another company to service it. They came several days ago and after looking at the boiler they said it cannot be serviced because valves were not properly placed and the entire job was not up to standard. They offered to have it properly wired which would cost me $3500-$4500. Now I understand why Pipe Doctor Mike never returned my calls. Please be aware!!! Just had an appointment with Mike, one of their representatives. Before he can even hear me out, finds out I got quotes from others, shakes my hand turns his back to me and leaves without any other words. Anyone in any industry should understand that every consumer wants the best and needs multiple opinions to compare before making big investments. None of my other plumbers treated me this way. Had the worst experience with them. Called them up for a maintenance about 10 days ago. First they noticed the piping on my hose was leaking and replaced the connection, next day I noticed it was still leaking behind the piece they replaced they did come back to fix it. They then did the maintenance on the central air and said everything was working fine. When it got hot on wednesday 5/17 the air unit outside kept cutting off. I called in someone else Action Repair in Merrick who I highly recommend who came here promptly and blew out all the dirt in the unit and told me the wiring for the fan was screwed up and was making the fan go backwards and that is why it was cutting out. Won't recommend, Very rude and unprofessional. I called to schedule an appointment for an annual maintenance on my boiler and i got a call back from mike. I gave mike the model for my boiler and My request was to confirm that they are familiar with this type of boiler and that they follow the manufacturer's required maintenance as I read it in the manual. Mike refused to provide details and explanation of the service they perform or what's included in the maintenance tuneup. His argument was that he won't divulge confident information, but at the same time, how can I pay for a service if I have no clue what's being done to the boiler. All he said is that we will follow the manufacturers recommendations, and it was up to me to know what it meant. This just makes me believe that they either don't know or not professional enough to explain to customers the type of service they provide. As a consumer we have all these contacts now to help us pick the right person for the right job, see work projects completed, but not in this case. I found pipe doctor on you tube with a video of showing an install of a boiler and how professionally done the work was. I was in the process of looking at the service contracts they provide which i needed an hvac contract. I wasn't fully ready to commit yet til i checked on what was covered. I was unhappy with the install of my condensate neutralizer on my boiler from my previous contractor so i reached out to pipe doctor cause they seemed to do good work and i was looking to go with them on a service contract anyway only to get into a speedy conversation trying to sell me on a service contract instead of fixing my concern. Or just say you are to busy for small jobs like this right now. I know it's the busy season i am in construction and understand. Be thankful your busy instead of your head swelling up.
