The distinguished lady at the front had poor customer service when I was looking for a specific aroma of tobacco. She was very short in her offerings and had a "you can take this or that" approach. She even laughed at me, or at least scoffed, as I asked what her closest option would be to my tobacco I brought in with me. I didn't feel welcome nor accommodated for my first ever visit in by her. My overall takeaway from her service and demeanor was "we don't have that, oh well". She didn't even offer for me to smell the offerings they DID have if I found something I might like instead I had to take it upon myself to open the jars and see if my visit could lead me to a purchase of something I enjoyed. I asked for a covering for the tip for my pipe and she was slightly more helpful but I had to ask and ask about how to apply it (once again, very short in her delivery and I'm a novice so would like to ask the professionals while I'm IN the store). And when I asked about a tamper tool she did briefly explain the difference in their 2 offerings but quickly put it back in their display jar and closed the lid. I felt like she was verbally and with her mannerisms kicking me out. Maybe she had a bad Christmas, so I wish her a much happier New Year. In STARK CONTRAST;however, the man with the kind tone, blue eyes, and long beard/hat was much more accommodating and helpful to where I was at on my journey as a beginner pipe user. I did appreciate his demeanor and explanation of accessories for my pipe. He also offered me a brochure on pipe smoking and was sympathetic to my niche tobacco search. So I did purchase some accessories from him for his helpful demeanor and kind customer service. Overall unsure if I would be back or recommend this location to others. I have been coming to Pipe World since the day I turned 18 (2016) and have been in love ever since. This is back when they were located in La Frontera, but here's the main thing: their quality overall has never changed. From customer service, humidor upkeep, selection of cigars, and lounging experience is my favorite in the Austin, Texas area. I've since visited other shops over the years, but with Pipe World being a family business you feel that connection you can't get anywhere else. It feels like home. read more

We went to Pipe World to purchase some specialty cigars to celebrate the birth of our grandchild! This store is absolutely amazing and so well stocked it is almost overwhelming! Lucky for me the employees are really helpful and know everything about the cigars they sell! A great bonus was the specialty gift section, on sale where I was able to purchase some great gifts for friends. They also have a beautiful lounge where you can hang out, watch games and smoke cigars. Added bonus: they have gorgeous free cigar boxes they give away! read more

This place truly sucked. You walk in they might or might not greet you then they proceed to follow you around the humidor as if you are planning the next great heist. It is utterly ridiculous how they treat you, even if you are a regular that comes in often. They make it their mission to act like an overzealous mall cop. I love the new location! It's very simple to travel to the new location! The new location is way bigger and more convenient to access even if it's not easily accessible from 35. But it's definitely easily accessible from the tolls. A place that has been around for 38 years is going to continue to thrive at the new location! Why? Great customer service! Plenty of parking space. Readily accessible compared to before at the old location. Their smoke room is amazing with TVs etc. Their humidifier room has even a greater selection to choose from! The staff is just amazingly friendly and they are practicing COVID precautions. read more

We went to Pipe World today for the first time and we're super impressed! The outside is beautiful and has seating, in case you want to enjoy a smoke and chill for a bit. If it's too hot or inclement weather, they have a smoke room with comfy chairs and TV! The selection was stellar... and you get escorted to the HUGE humidor that holds a vast selection. Our salesperson was kind and knowledgeable. We joined their "club", and will enjoy ongoing discounts. The pipes and tobacco speedster to be decent with regard to style and selection. I went to Pipe Worlds RR store yesterday and was very impressed with the sore. I was also delighted to see the large lounge where you can hang out and read, watch TV , etc. while enjoying a pipe indoors out of the heat. Their prices are higher than what you'll see online, but that's normal for any brick & mortar business with a staff to pay. It's worth the extra couple of dollars to have such a great resource so close by. I was only there a minute and when I saw what I was looking for, it was high on a shelf and was told I could grab it myself, so it sounds like they've relaxed their germaphobia. And honestly I doubt any over-zealousness in trying to prevent COVID19 spread was all internal. I think a lot of the businesses in Round Rock are just trying not to come under too much scrutiny from Williamson County officials. read more

I give this place a 1 star due to being new to the area and first visit impression! Not sure what was going on when I arrived, but 2 workers (older man/women) saw me pull up and passed me as I went into the store. I waited more than a decent amount of time before someone came to assist me. Mind you I was the ONLY black customer/person in the store @ the time while these two remained outside for a considerable amount of time KNOWING a customer in which they passed was inside. When they decided to return indoors another person came out to assist WHICH he and ONLY he was very pleasant! While I finished my purchase another customer came in WHICH the older white women addressed with a grand and pleasant attitude UNLIKE my experience here! Again not sure what the issue or lack thereof was about. It's the closest cigar shop to me and I'll return once more the see how the next visit goes and determine if I'll go back to ordering online! read more
