If you advertise on the street that you serve a 1 euro beer togo, it is pretty self explanatory. I just decided to stop in to taste a local beer from this little bodega style restaurant. The gentleman behind the counter was not the friendliest as he did not fill the "urine sample sized" cup more than 3/4 full as he told me again it is togo after I said I was not staying to eat. So let's start off with this is a location for tourists hence the review that follows: I am Indian and the funniest part is so are the people working inside. They had the rudest behavior with us when we asked them questions on the menu. Like a take it or leave it attitude which was not appreciated. The food itself was absolutely vile. After a long walk visiting the Park Guell, we were famished and in dire need of lunch lol. Walking down this was the very first that caught our eyes. And since we're in Spain, I think it's right to have Paella. We ordered the seafood and mix paella and the Valenciana. Foods were good, place was clean, service was awesome! During the LONG walk up the 11 escalators to the park, we realized we were famished. Searching for a place to grab lunch, this place was like an oasis in the desert, where the warm smell of the paella wafted towards us as we descended the hill. Entering the place, it was small, casual, and the waiter could tell I needed a glass of wine right away. We ordered the seafood paella and the black ink paella, and laid back waiting-while enjoying the house wine. The pans were massive, but weren't overly loaded with ingredients. The flavors were delicious-fresh, but I had limited large chunks of seafood. So really it was a big bowl of delicious rice. read more

The patatas bravas are so delicious and the mojitos are the best I've ever had. Seriously... they are the best mojitos I've ever had. We enjoyed the mojitos so much that we asked them to sell us a bottle. We even got a little tipsy and fed the pigeons, which they didn't mind. The service was amazing! A small and casual place just a few blocks outside the park. It's laid back and good for coffee or lunch to take a break. We ordered only tapas: the Spanish tortilla de patatas, French fries, sausages and croquettes. All of them were good. None of them were amazing nor in competition for the best of Spain, but that's perfectly fine, you should know that given the proximity to a tourist attraction and the style when you arrive. It's clearly a laid back cafe. The service was great and the two guys running the show were very friendly and spoke enough English to help patrons. We also had espresso, which was good! I see the comments on paella. I wouldn't order a paella here because common sense tells me there is no true chef here, it's a cafe. I wouldn't order steak and lobster either if they offered it. But hey get coffee, get tapas, get some rest and energy and you're all set! Good to go! read more

A god awful experience. I came across this place while looking for a quick bite to eat before going to Park Guell. I didn't necessarily have high hopes, but I wasn't even close to ready for this dining experience or the repercussions after. My first warning signal should have been the pictures of the menu items on the outside of the place. NEVER a good sign. Oh, how naive I was. I also should have been turned away by the horrendous decor and the fact that the washroom was basically in the middle of the place. The service actually wasn't horrible and the waiter was upbeat and welcoming. He was probably excited that they actually had customers. I was a bit skeptical already and not too hungry, so I decided to play it safe and get the Tapas dish of the olives. The food arrived. Can I even call it food? I give the small dish of olives a try and bite into one. I am immediately taken aback by the SOFT center. SOFT. What olives have a soft center? I mean, really, how the fuck do you mess up olives???!?!?!??! THEY COME IN A JAR. I eat a couple more to see if that soft center was just a faulty one. It was not. A plate of soft olives. The literal thought of it makes me gag. I had a couple bites of the calamari my dad ordered. It was disgusting as well. Shameful to all calamari everywhere. The squid was STRINGY and the fried coating resembled a doughnut. Didn't know that mini squid doughnuts would be the first food trend of 2018. My brother ordered the chicken fingers and fries. I didn't try either of them, but the chicken was described as being bouncy and spongey. I'm just as confused as you are. All of this was extremely overpriced and disgraceful to food everywhere. To make matters worse, I felt extremely ill the next day. On my flight to Sevilla, my stomach was mysteriously churning. You can probably guess what happened next. I spent my first day in Sevilla throwing up my insides and projectile vomiting in the main square. A big apology to those Spanish children that I made dead eye contact with while throwing up into my shopping bags. While questioning how I got so sick, I made the conclusion. It had to be those fucking soft olives. I was the only one who ate them and I was the only one sick in my family. Moral of the story: Don't go to this hell hole unless you want to get food poisoning and ruin your love of olives forever. I was wandering all over around Parque Güell hungry, but I didn't want to stop in at one of the many tourist traps around the park. My feet were tired, and I'd given up. I walked into Piranya's where to my surprise I was greeted by a friendly waiter who sat me right away. I ordered the albondigas, which were made from veal. They arrived with a basket or bread on the side, and either I was hungry, or they were very good. No: they were delicious. Not fatty at all. Stewed in peas and carrots, which made for a nice mix with the bread. I didn't feel rushed out of there by the waiter, who was gleefully singing as he waited on other tables. I write for a bit then ordered a café con leche, which was the perfect temperature when it arrived-- a great note on which to end a satisfying lunch! read more

We were going to Gaudi Expereinced (opposite to this cafe) and decided to eat here. It's owned by two guys. The food is good, but there are some weird things happened to us. 1) after taking an order, instead of cooking for us, they first covered the table for themself near us and started eating and smiling while looking at us, we were so hungry)... 2) ok, they finished eating and brang us our food. It was not as nice as on pictures... And a bit reroasted 3) they took 0.95€ per person for service 4) tea costs 1.75€ for a cup and it was the worst tea i ever drank. 3 of 5, but there is no alternative near if you need to go to Gaudi Experienece and you are hungry read more

First time there, but never again. The food was was edible, but too pricey. Place is understaffed, waiter was running around like he was in such a hurry. Never had I witnessed something like that before. Another example is that the waiter was smashing a can of coke on the table when cleaning the table after other guests have finished their meal, paid and left. Does he know that there are also other guests in the room? There's one toilet, right in the corner of the room where there are chairs and tables. You know exactly who is in the rest room and who is waiting to enter the rest room. Also there are too many seats stuffed in a small space. There's not much space to move. The waiter was running the chairs over, and made too much noise when doing so. On top of the above, the cleaner was making too much noise when cleaning the glasses and plates. People don't have to hear that he is doing his job. I don't recommend this place to others. Don't go in there or the piranhas will eat you. The bar's name already gives you a hint. read more
