We had an interesting experience here during an early weekday evening dinner. As tourists, we solicited dinner recommendations from a local and decided to try Pirate's Den. When we arrived, there were just two couples in the restaurant. The restaurant seemed to be comprised of two rooms - one cozy and one larger. The decor is pleasant - I'd describe it as down-home beachy. The busboy was friendly and brought us water right away. 2 of us ordered seafood-and-pasta dishes, and we all very much enjoyed our meals. I am not a seafood expert, however, so I can't swear to how fresh, etc. the fish was. I had salmon on wheat linguine in a garlic sauce and it was great. The problem was the waitress. As I may have mentioned before, I don't expect cheerful butt-kissing service. This waitress, however, was cold to the point where it made all of us uncomfortable. We tried jokes, we tried being super friendly, we tried being apologetic. She wasn't a modicum of friendly until we were ready to leave. While I still despise the flies, I have a whole new appreciation for Pirate's Den, especially during the pandemic. I've been coming to Brig for 10 years and while I know the breakfast here is scrumptious, I've never gotten anything else besides that here. That changed this year with our two week stay and we have ordered from them a handful of times already. Everything has been fabulously delicious and the prices are so reasonable. I love the crab pasta - it is full of the biggest chunks of crab I've seen in a dish. And the shrimp armando was also really good with spinach fettuccini. The stuffed mushrooms with crabmeat also are his on my list and this distinct deliciousness to them that I haven't tasted in other stuffed mushrooms. Every meal basically comes with soup or a side salad and/or two sides like rice pilaf, veggies, cole slaw, etc. The portions are also very large and the menu is beyond extensive. Through the pandemic, they're offering outdoor seating and in-person and curbside pick-up. Grab-and-go lunches for easy transport to the beach are also being offered. Ordering online is super easy and highly recommended. The staff has been super friendly and accommodating, and the personalized bags the food comes in brings a welcomed smile to diners. read more

At least for breakfast, I'm there 3x a week, I always get my favorite table, they have great waitstaff, and some of the best eggs benedict I've ever had the pleasure of eating!!! Try the one with lobster, oh lordy how decadant!!! Only 12.95 and HUGE HUNKS OF LOBSTER TAIL, beautifully poached eggs to my liking (I like em a bit loose) and a lemon pepper hollandaise home made to perfection!!! Also home made oat and whole grain pan cakes with whatever fruit you like, french toast die for, a lobster and egg quesadia (sp?) ohhhh yum. Been coming here for a while. Nice location across from the beach. Food is good and made fresh to order but the service is mediocre. I think it's due to lack of wait staff but my server was not polite and did not even come by to see if there was anything we needed after being served. I remember this place having a courteous staff and a real homey feel but times have changed. Came here for breakfast after a long night...great decision! The restaurant was nice and cozy and the waitresses were very nice. I ordered the cream chip beef and homefries...amazing. The food came out super hot and the gravy was creamy and delicious. The homefries had just the right crisp....I am definitely coming back here for the rest of our trip. This place is like a piece of history, the small beach restaurant, the tables are a little wobbly, the chairs look worn and the walls look dated, but don't let the appearance (or the line waiting to get in) deter you, you're going to be hard pressed to find a better breakfast place than the Pirates Den. I've never been there for anything for breakfast but every time I've gone, I've never been disappointed! My favorite item on the menu is the Lobster quesadilla. One of the greatest features of Brigantine Beach is the Pirates Den. The place is like a diner in the morning and afternoon, and has some very nice dinner options in the evening. My favorite is the lox eggs benedict. Delicious. They have some great specials, always creative and delicious. The price for brunch is usually around 30 bucks for brunch for 2 people (includes tip, coffee, OJ, side dishes, and the main courses). The wait staff is thoughtful, courteous, and attentive. A couple things to be aware of: 1) if you go on a sunday morning expect a long wait, sometimes as long as an hour (its that good), 2) if you get an omelet or any egg dish with hash browns make sure you ask them to make them well done and with onions, and 3) their sausage is amazing. read more

This place is really cute, and settled far off at the North End of Brigantine. Our server was friendly and a lot of locals come in here so a lot of people know each other. They don't have a panini press, which I was disappointed to hear when I was about to order their panini. I don't think it should be on the menu as a panini if they don't have a press. I ended up getting a caesar salad but wasn't too impressed. The other food I saw looked better so I'd like to give it another try. It seems there are more options here for breakfast than for lunch, so I'd like to come back earlier in the day next time. read more

This is a cute little place on the end of the island sitting on oceanfront. We were greeted by charming hostess and received quick service. Our server Lindsey was most friendly,warm and efficient. Ambiance was cozy and casual. The oat bran french toast with hot apples was outstanding and tasted freshly prepared. The Pirate's muffin was their take on an EggMcMuffin and was better than the golden arches. The home fries were decent and nicely seasoned. This place is a gem of a find on the end of the island and is highly recommended for a nice breakfast or lunch. read more

We had a really nice meal with well prepared seafood and a great waiter. My wife never orders pasta but the waiter sold the seafood combo so well that she bypassed her own policy. A rare occurrence for her and she was pleased. Scallops, shrimp and a small lobster tail in a light sauce over pasta was very nice. I enjoyed the "Greek shrimp" which combined sun dried tomato, feta and spinach with shrimp in a very nice sauce. Our other dinner companion also enjoyed the seafood tortellini. read more

Had a good experience at the Pirates Den. wish I had known it was BYOB prior, but that's alright I made up for it at the casino after lol ;) When we first sat down we were greeted by a lovely girl who gave us bread and took our drink orders. She then said our server would be with us. 15 minutes later another girl comes by. Doesn't introduce herself and just says "so you guys ready". Uh yea, for about ten minutes now. She was really hard to track down and wasn't attentive at all. I had the French onion soup (upcharge but well worth it) and a steak. It came with a soup and two sides which was nice. I got my steak Medium rare and my brother got his rare and they were both cooked perfectly. Mine could have been seasoned a little more but overall it was good! Everyone else got different things, chicken francese, and seafood dishes and everyone enjoyed them. Prices were reasonable especially being so close to the water. Something that pissed me off was when we asked the waitress to bring a chocolate cake over for my friends birthday and she brought it out without clearing the table! We had some yummy mussels with chocolate cake! Not sure if they were low on staff but I've worked in restaurants and that is totally unacceptable. Overall a good meal, and I'd return with booze next time! Next time if the service is "acceptable" it will get 5 stars! read more

I rented out a house in Brigantine and this place was only 4 blocks away. Food was ok. I got the lobster eggs benedict and the lobster pieces didn't taste that great. I did like that the biscuits were burnt which kept them from getting soggy from the egg yolk and hollandaise sauce too quickly. My friend got a burger and the meat did not taste good (old/frozen/gritty??). Service was good. I asked for a table for 6 initially, but 2 of my friends who said they weren't coming ended up coming anyway. I felt bad, but the server was understanding and added a table immediately. Props for being quick about it and not giving us a hard time. If I were staying in Brigantine, I'd still come here again for breakfast, but I've definitely had better. read more

This place came highly recommended so I was excited to try it out, but unfortunately I was disappointed. The clam chowder was the best thing on the menu and I'm giving this restaurant 3 stars for that. However, the linguini and clams was very unappetizing. When the waiter first brought out the dish, I immediately noticed the poor presentation (to the point where my family members were happy it wasn't their's). This place is absolutely amazing!! They have such a large variety on their menu whether it's for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The service is excellent and everyone is very friendly there. The place is small and cozy and right in front of the boardwalk. Beautiful location. They even have outdoor seating which is very nice. Prices are very reasonable! I ordered clams with linguine and it was only $12 and the plate was filling! And I also got the New England clam chowder which was delicious! I definitely recommend this place!! read more

Just went there and couldn't figure out why i could only get a fried crab cake when i wanted a broiled. When it came i quickly realized they were pre-packaged frozen crab cakes. Food was bad, service was horrible, prices were a little high for the quality. Now, the reason I am giving a 3 is because of the service, not the food. The food itself was amazing; everyone at the table had a delicious dish. I had the BLT (bacon, lobster, tomato) Omelet, my boyfriend had the Lox Omelet, both which were very tasty! The only thing was the potatoes were a bit bland, but with added pepper and sauce, they were good. As a table, we shared the Coconut Peach Waffles - AMAZING! I know this place very well but heard it changed hands so my wife and I came to check it out. It's still a quaint casual seafood stile restaurant conveniently across the street from the brigantine beach making it one of the go to places in the summertime. The staff is very attentive and the host Debbie is a darling. I stuck with the seafood menu and got the salmon Oscar even thought they had food for carnivores, if you know what I mean. The meal came with two sides and soup. Every thing was great and the price was right. I saw some really tasty deserts go by and I'm a desert guy but, I had to pass on the carrot cake. This is a very nice place at the end of Brigantine island. I liked that they had pictures of the old Brigantine Castle that use to stand across the street but has sadly burnt down in the late 80's 1988?. I was in the castle when I was a kid and I have to say I still remember the experience. I ended up ordering the Seafood Combo after looking over the menu for a good 10 minutes having a tough time deciding what to order. Everything was awesome in the combo! It came with Scallops, Shrimp Lejon, Haddock, Clams Casino with a double baked potato and mixed veggies. I have to add the I never really like Scallops but these were cooked perfectly and I really enjoyed them. Next time I come back to Brigantine I'm going to definitely have to try out the breakfast. read more

Friendly employees, the coffee was hot, the tomato and cranberry juices were cold. The restaurant was clean. They serve breakfast and lunch. We opted for breakfast. The pancake, omelette, and eggs menu options were extensive and creative. we tried Maine lobster meat eggs Benedict. The eggs were cooked just right, the hollandaise sauce was tasty, the lobster meat added a nice touch to the meal. We sat next to a fish tank which provided relaxing entertainment for us. Disgusting, unsanitary restaurant. Was there for breakfast and after getting to the bottom of one of our mugs of coffee there was clearly a layer of something gross looking, chunky, and foreign at the bottom. After almost throwing up out of disgust I took the mug to the manager and asked for an explanation. She came back and said it looks like panko breadcrumbs and that they use the mugs for breading crab cakes. Cross contamination anyone? No apology, no offer to do anything, no evidence of caring at all. I would be scared for anyone having to eat at this disgusting place.
