Stopped in after watching the sun come up over the beach from across the street. Friendly service and a welcoming atmosphere with historic news clippings about the neighborhood's survival through Hurricane Sandy and other natural disasters line the entrance. Breakfast menu options are both creative and eclectic. Family of three and everyone's meal was divine. The BLT Omelette (Bacon Lobster Tomato) and Croissant French Toast were amazing and the coffee was fresh and piping hot. Just a bad experience with even worse food Mistake after mistake on a simple four person dinner, and it wouldn't have been so bad if the food was edible. Shrimp scampi was over cooked shrimp in a bowl of cream, that's not scampi. A gross steak that was suppose to be a filet mignon not cooked to liking and literally no seasoning not even salt and pepper. Literally brought us things we didn't order and it was like this is what we have eat it. Ordered soup didn't get what I ordered and they say that's what we have and just dropped it on the table. Can't comment on the food because we never actually got to eat. Went for breakfast on Saturday morning and were told it would be a 10 minute wait for a party of 3. About 20 minutes later we started to notice that people who walked in after us were being seated. I inquired with the hostess to see if we had missed our name being called - she checked her list which had about 9 names after ours already crossed out. No apology or even updated wait time was given so we just walked out. Either they are totally unorganized, seating friends before others already waiting or incompetent, not sure which. read more

Breakfasts are very good but dinner is not. There is no way you can have a dinner menu that extensive and still provide fresh ingredients. All of our dishes were sub-par at best. Basically on the level of a diner. Flavorless Chicken Francaise, mushy clams casino and the crab ravioli were just flat out awful tasting. And the waitress brought one tiny loaf of bread for 7 people. I also hate having to ask for drink refills. That should be server 101. We had breakfast on Saturday here. It was so good we came back for lunch two days later, which was even better. The caprese flatbread was the best thing we had - warm, moist, great mix of mozzarella tomatoes and balsamic. I also had the scallops which were great - lightly fried so the scallops flavor still came through. Prices are very reasonable. The service was SUPER fast. We did have to wait for a table on Saturday morning (it's a popular place) but once we sat the food was very quick. Recently visited on a Wednesday morning and was delighted not to have a long wait as done with previous visits. Ease of parking along the streets and being right across from the beach makes for a great location. Food menu offers so many choices it can be difficult to order. Prices are reasonable. This would have gotten a better rating if service was better. The server over filled the coffee cup spilling onto the table and shrugged it off. They only returned with napkins after noticing I got up after they walked away to grab an extra napkin from the table next to us. It was never mentioned regarding specials which was unfortunate as I noticed walking out an item I would have preferred to try. Visiting the restaurant numerous times over many years this visit was while tasty slightly disappointing. This was our first experience with Pirates Den. Considering we were only 4 blocks away, we walked down our first night of vacation. Let me also say that during our week at the beach house, we experienced breakfast, lunch and dinner, probably 6 times! We NEVER had a bad meal, staff was so kind, and friendly. Found this spot on Yelp and decided to try it bc of the favorable reviews. We got here early so there was no wait. It's a small, corner place. Nice and attentive staff. We got water and coffee right away. Our food was brought out prompt and hot. I ordered the fried jalapeño omelet w hashbrowns and my bf got the lobster breakfast quesadilla. Both were really tasty. Love this place is BYOB and didn't charge a corking fee. We brought wine, one of our glass had lipstick all over. Sat at an outside tables, had a beautiful sea breeze and you could hear the waves crashing. Chowder was thick but tasty. Lemon wine garlic sauce on 3 seafood pasta dishes was good. My husband and I were at Atlantic City to celebrate our anniversary, and we happened to go over to Brigantine Beach. We decided to grab some lunch and saw Pirates Den across the street. Can I just say, what a hidden gem! The food was so delicious, my husband got the crab cake and stuffed shrimp special, (he loved it), I got a cheeseburger, which was cooked exactly the way I like it, and fabulous. Our servers were Tara, she was great, so friendly, and gave wonderful food suggestions. She also looked out for me when I mentioned a seafood allergy, which I greatly appreciated. We also had Carlos, so sweet, and he also gave great dessert recommendations. We met Ms. Kim, one of the managers, and she was so nice and friendly. We immediately felt like home here.
