When I visit Atlantic City and stay overnight the next morning. I always want a nice decent breakfast. I found this spot called Maria's Lunchonette on Mississippi Ave. not far from CAESARS casino. They make the perfect breakfast at a reasonable price compared to what you would get on the boardwalk. I mean this food is actually quality! The customer service is great, and the venue itself feels Homey. It's like a classic type of diner out here. Nothing over the top like those celebrity chef places that charge an arm and leg for mediocre food... But a nice family style spot. I really enjoy the French toast here, some eggs and toast. I'm not the biggest fan of the pancakes to be honest they're kinda dense for my taste. Besides that, everything else hits nice! The place is always filled with people from all over enjoying their meals. It's like the hidden gem Out here. IYKYK The staff are always so nice and attentive.. We appreciate them much.. Overall, it's a great family ran spot where you can get a great home cooked meal in a nice, decent restaurant that's not overpriced. so if you're ever in Atlantic City and are looking for a great spot for breakfast or lunch, you should definitely try this spot. After a big event in Atlantic City, we found ourselves at Maria's Luncheonette. The sign said "Breakfast All Day" and that's my personal Bat Signal to eat! We got a veggie omelet with toast and potatoes, and I had a short stack with two eggs with hot sauce and a big cup of black coffee. Delicious! The eggs were perfectly cooked, the veggies were fresh, and the pancakes were fluffy and moist. We left Maria's with full bellies, ready to take on whatever else Atlantic City had to offer. Slow service, we sat for 20 min 3 waitresses and I still don't have my drink. After about 40 minutes someone came to the table. Let just say they we not friendly we asked for more water that the guy kinda got upset, went and got a picture filled it full of ice, which they took out of a cooler because they don't have an ice machine there and filled it full of water from the sink and actually put it on our table. I can't say the food was OK, but they added the attention to detail the lack of acknowledging the customers that are in your store goes a long way we felt like we really was a bother to them more than being there to patronize their establishment. read more

Oh how I love a classic whole in the wall spot and Maria's fits the bill. I see the reviews and with 4 stars I knew I had to give them a shot for breakfast. We arrived a little after 10 and this place was packed. If you have to wait, you have to wait outside which is a bummer as it was cold but luckily they have a parking lot on the side. The parking lot fits about 8 cars and is tiny but it's better than nothing. We didn't have to wait long. They have a small bar area as well about 20 tables throughout the establishment. They have one of the cleanest old bathrooms I've ever been in. Our waitress was really nice and was quick to take our orders. I ordered the French toast platter which came with eggs, home fries and bacon for me. The eggs were real eggs which was a plus. The bacon was good as well. The potatoes needed some seasoning, as well as salt and pepper. They were lacking big time. Overall my meal was good. The French toast could have been bigger but for the price I get it. My wife ordered the Banana Foster French Toast which comes with a lot of bananas. Overall she liked it though. My daughter had the Meatlovers sandwich on a croissant. This sandwich was gone in less than 5 mins. She shared th same sentiments on the potatoes. Ketchup, salt and pepper are a MUST. Overall we had a good time and this will be a go to for breakfast over the expensive hotel casinos. read more

Not bad, not good. After tax and tip, a complete breakfast is roughly $23. Service is fast though, and there's parking on the left lot. Nothing remarkable about a spot like this, but at least the floor is fairly high for a brunch spot. read more

The service and food were excellent! We had omelette's with spinach, onions and cheddar cheese along with home fries. We requested they add peppers & onions to the home fries and they were superb. I had a side order of turkey bacon and my brother had turkey sausage. Everything was flavorful and cooked to perfection. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend you visit Maria's on your next visit to Atlantic City, you won't be disappointed. It was definitely a highlight to our trip and I look forward to going back. This is our second trip as we were here last time between Christmas and New Years. This is an Atlantic City hidden gem with wonderful food and service. I had a bacon omelette with home fries and toast. The omelette was chock full of bacon and cheese overflow the eggs. This was perfectly cooked and was simply great. My wife had French Toast and scrambled eggs. Both were cooked great and she really enjoyed them. The others at the table had an omelette, and eggs and corned beef hash. The corned beef was cooked perfectly and everyone at the table was impressed with their food. The is a quaint little place with a constant flow of people in and out. The service is quick and servers were very attentive with details of simple things like refilling coffee. I am on a ketogenic diet, so I needed a good breakfast that would fit my needs. I fortunately found Maria's Luncheonette, a charming little cafe just an 8 minute walk from my hotel. I found the prices to be much more reasonable than those of the hotel with a menu of just good food and friendly service with warm welcome. Two mornings in a row I had an omelette prepared just perfectly and it was a delicious way to start my day! In fact, the second morning, they remembered I could enjoy the home fries that came with the omelette. I'm quite sure the carbs on the menu would have been delicious as well! There was lots of carry-out business going on during my stay. The food is typical diner fare for breakfast. The prices were really nice. The venue is typical (for a "row house" type diner) and spacious. They have lots of hot sauce options!! I tried a side dish of their corned beef hash (which is the typical "Hormel" style) done extra crispy and it came out perfect! Next up was the plain bagel with egg, cheese, & beef sausage breakfast sandwich, which was excellent and very fresh & tasty!!! Like I mentioned, service was great too... she kept an eye on my needs and they topped off coffee as needed. We naturally picked a table towards the back because most of the tables in the front appeared to be occupied. The breakfast menu is basic, kind of like a mini iHop. Service was wonderful, friendly staff and very attentive to our needs. Ketchup, butter, jams, salts are all on the table. However, the food was meh. I got the French toast deluxe platter. The toast was the best part, add a little butter. The bacon wasn't super crispy, just a bit. Unfortunately, I felt the hash browns were very dry and lacked flavor. The menu sounded promising with a variety of dishes. While the portions were fair, we did find it underwhelming for the cost. Probably still saved money while having a fair meal off property. They offer the classics, eggs, steak, sausage, bacon, home fries, fries, etc. Pay attention to where you park as it could be a bit misleading which lot was for their patrons. Sadly, I don't remember much about the atmosphere of this restaurant. I know our server was nice and I really enjoyed my pancakes. I prefer to use honey on my pancakes and they did provide me with some. Now, the scrambled eggs...... Not sure about what anyone else do, but I'm from the South, and we scramble the cheese into the eggs instead of dropping a slice on top. It does make a difference in taste. They were generous with the amount protein given. The bacon wasn't extra crispy, just how I like it. I'm not sure about the sausage as I gave it to my friend. Oh, the hot chocolate was served right. Great little place right by hotels in Atlantic City if you don't want to pay a lot for breakfast in the hotels which can be very pricey. Place is cute not fancy but don't let that fool you.
