I've been looking at this place ever since I got to the Arizona since it's only like 2 minutes from our Airbnb. We took our food to go, so I can't comment on the overall service/ambiance of the restaurant. However, when we came inside to pickup our large order, the staff was very friendly and had our order within minutes! The interior is very beautiful as well! When we finally got to try the pizza, it was so good! My favorites would have to be the Passionista (because the sweetest really plays off of the saltiness) and the Pollo E Pesto! After a long morning of hiking we stopped here for pizza. There are 2 locations. We ate at the one in West Sedona. Service was quick and friendly. My husband and I split a pizza, half salami and half fennel sausage. The crust was ok, I prefer more chewy but not bad. It was dry so we asked for some marinara on the side, and they brought a generous cup of sauce heated up that did the trick. We also got dessert. My husband got a generous portion of chocolate gelato, which he said was awesome, and I got tirumisu and a latte, which was also good. The restaurant was clean and decorated nicely including some really cute decor in the bathroom! Also the owner or manager came over to check on us after to make sure everything was good. This place is conveniently open later than many other restaurants and they have a really nice variety of food, including pizza and gelato. I also found the wine prices to be very reasonable and the wine was good. Some of the pizza options are really unique. This was the first restaurant I went to after driving eight hours and boy was I happy to see them. My dear friend is vegan and they crafted a pizza for them and even when it still come out with me on it, they did send it back and create an equally beautiful looking pizza so props for that accommodation :). Our server was really friendly and attentive, though I wish she had come over to tell us about the pizza before sending the poor busboy . I think they thought we might be mad, so I get it lol she did come over after! The pizza here was one of the best we've ever eaten. The salad was fresh, crispy and the salad dressing was amazing. We also enjoyed the strawberry cheese cake and the tiramisu. Both were delicious. The food was really good. My kids liked the pepperoni and husband and I liked the burrata and the two pizzas that we got. My only negative comment was that they may have over cooked the crust a bit. It was pretty black. I ended up not eating mine, but that is fine since I like the toppings more than the filling crust anyway. I somehow managed to forget my purse at the restaurant and didn't notice until the next day. That one glass of wine must have been STRONG. Lol! It's something about the crust and mother sauce that go together so well and are chewy without being doughy. It's a popular place so either call ahead for take out or plan around it being busy inside. Would recommend the mushroom pizza (I always add sausage) as well as the pepperoni classic. The crust I believe was sourdough based according to our server. He was knowledgeable about the menu. The pizzas were so good we finished both at once (well deserved after some strenuous hike!). Our experience started out positive. We had a large party and the staff were very nice and accommodating. Due to the large party, we had a 40 minute wait which is totally understandable. We ordered several pizzas which were delicious and specifically picked this place because they had gluten free pizzas available as an option for my sister in law who does not have a gluten allergy but rather a wheat allergy, however as gluten free things have no wheat, any gluten free food is okay for her. You have to pay extra for gluten free options and she was the only one with that problem so we ordered one gluten free pizza especially for her. Everything came out and the server brought her pizza out as well. Since we'd started the morning early hiking, we were all excited when the food came out and started eating. After we were about 90% done. The waiter brings out the same pizza but a gluten free version and (no apology) says that what my sister in law actually ate was not gluten free. That the cooking team in the back had given him the wrong one. He seemed annoyed? (Maybe because he was stuck in the middle?) but the first thing I would have expected was a large apology and maybe the second they realized tell her to stop eating it!! Instead of waiting for the gluten free one to stop cooking... We were all just in shock at how this was handled and thankfully we had a doctor in our family with us so we were a little relieved. Her allergy is exacerbated by physical activity after she consumed wheat so we took extra care to make sure we ended the day there so she could just rest and she had to take lots of anti allergy medications to prevent any issues. After some time, the chef and the waiter came to apologize to her personally, but their apology was more like "our dough is from Italy, so people that have a gluten allergy usually don't usually have an issue our dough" it really did not feel genuine. And then to top it off, when we got the bill, the server very loudly and awkwardly said the gratuity is not included in the final total just FYI! And said it twice!! We've lived in nearby Cottonwood for several years and I've been wanting to try this place so my hubs took me for a birthday lunch. The place is small but super cute, with a cozy midmod vibe (we went right after New Years so the holiday decor was also in full force). In addition to a full bar, they also have a gelato bar and a retail space where you can purchase branded merch as well as house-made foodstuffs. We were greeted right away; the place is usually pretty packed and it was busy midweek at about 2 pm but we only waited about 15 minutes. If you have a large group it would probably be a longer wait. (We were offered a seat at the counter shortly after we arrived but preferred to wait for a table). As first-timers we decided to start with something simple so pepperoni it was. The server was prompt and pleasant; she checked back several times to make sure we had everything we needed. Our pizza was served pretty quickly and oh, my goodness! The crust was PERFECTION - crispy, chewy, delish. Their tomato-based "mother sauce" is nicely seasoned without being too acidic; the sauce-to-cheese ratio is spot on. Topping was generous and fresh. The pie is 8 slices which was perfect for the two of us; we left very satisfied, vowing to return to our new favorite pizza place. Oh, and did I mention? This pricing is also very reasonable, especially considering the homemade, hand-tossed, wood-fired quality. You could just order junk food delivery from some pizza chain, OR spend literally a couple bucks more for a slice of heaven. Yeah, we'll be back, and soon.
