Located right on the beach is the SeaVenture! My wife and I have been to the restaurant, but wanted to have a little one night, getaway, staycation. We chose ocean front SeaVenture. This Boutique hotel has 50 something rooms, a good restaurant/bar and ocean facing balconies with Hot Tubs! This three story hotel is unique because first level is the parking garage, with the front desk through glass doors in the back. They have a little boutique and sitting area, with access to the beach. Second floor is rooms and third floor is the restaurant. The room was clean, great size and great view! The only negatives were it is a little on the older side, but still nice. And the Hot Tube was really shallow, you sit by having your feet straight out and you're on the bottom. Due to being so low, while you're in it, you can't see the ocean. The service in the hotel was good, no complaints. *Overall, I'd definitely recommend this place to anybody if they was to fully take in Pismo Beach* read more

We had such a beautiful stay at this Beach Hotel. We booked one of the rooms with the private hot tub on the balcony overlooking the ocean, and the view alone made it worth it. The location is truly unmatched -- right on the sand with incredible sunset views. It felt like the perfect coastal getaway. The room was clean, well maintained, and very reasonably priced for what you get. The bed was comfortable (I personally prefer something a little firmer, but that's just preference). The highlight was definitely soaking in the hot tub while listening to the waves -- such a relaxing experience. The front desk staff was fantastic -- friendly, welcoming, and very helpful throughout our stay. My only two minor complaints: the hot tub wasn't quite as deep as I personally would have liked, and our room was directly below the restaurant bar area on the third floor. In the mornings, we could hear dishes and some banging as they were setting up for the day, which woke us up earlier than we planned. If you're a light sleeper, I'd recommend requesting a room on the end of the hotel or away from the restaurant area. Overall, we would absolutely stay again -- the view and location are hard to beat. read more

The staff and location of this hotel were amazing. The room was very clean and comfortable. Unfortunately, we were on the 2nd floor and we could hear absolutely everything from the room above us. It felt like there was no insulation for a noise barrier. The toilets were constantly flushing and we could hear every movement from our upstairs neighbor. The maids coming through with their carts were super loud too. We barely slept either night we stayed. I would definitely come back but would probably want to stay on the 3rd floor to avoid the noise issues we encountered. The restaurant upstairs was also really great! We recently stayed here for my birthday and overall had a good time, but a few things kept it from being a five-star experience. Let's start with the downside: on our first day, we opened the closet and a roach went running. Not exactly the welcome we expected. We didn't let it ruin our trip, but did report it to management at checkout. I haven't heard anything back yet, which is a little disappointing. Housekeeping was also a bit off. After we ordered room service, the dishes and the tray they were brought in on were never cleared--even after the room was serviced. I thought that was odd. When we returned later, we just set everything outside the door, and it was eventually picked up. Now, for the positives. The front desk staff was amazing--friendly, helpful, and welcoming. We also had excellent service in the restaurant. Huge shoutout to Jaycee and Jim, who made our dinner such a great experience. (I'll be writing a separate review for the restaurant) The room decor was cute and cozy, and we definitely took full advantage of the private hot tub on the balcony. The charcuterie board we ordered was surprisingly good! Our view was a partial ocean view, which worked just fine for us. That said, the bathroom really needs updating. A screw popped out of the outlet when I plugged in my flat iron and actually dinged me in the chest. There were also a number of broken fixtures and chipped paint that made the room feel a little worn. The lobby is warm and inviting, and the location can't be beat--right on the beach with a beautiful lookout for sunsets. Parking was easy and well-managed, and I really appreciated that they prioritize hotel guests over restaurant traffic. That alone made evenings much more relaxing. In the end, I'm giving 3 stars because of the roach, the outdated bathroom, and the odd housekeeping slip. For the price point, I expected a bit more attention to detail. That said, we still had a good time and might stay again--mostly for the location and great staff. read more

This hotel has the absolute best location on the beach. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. We stayed in the king ocean view with the fireplace and hot tub on the patio. Loved it! The power did go out in part of our room but the maintenance staff had it fixed the next day. We received a credit for the inconvenience with a sincere apology. We enjoyed the breakfast room service and also enjoyed cocktails and appetizers in the hotel restaurant. The cleaning crew came every day and we appreciated the complimentary bottled waters they placed at the coffee/fridge area. We stayed 3 nights and wished we stayed a bit longer. Wow. Where do I start. We haven't been to Pismo Beach in 20yrs. We were looking forward to have a good dinner Beef Tips and the Scallops. In front of us is the SeaVenture Hotel. Loud losers yelling drunkenly in the hallways and when we called, I was told that "they dont have to be quiet until 10pm". Staff was nice enough, room was clean. LOCATION: Amazing! Right in front of the beach. You can step out of the hotel and have your feet in the sand in 5 steps.Plenty of parking surprisingly and easy access to the hotel, restaurants, stores and the freeway. Just be careful with one way streets lol. Almost got me. AMENITIES/ROOM: I did not get to check the other amenities such as the restaurant and spa that comes with the property but the hot tub that came with our room was wonderful! It was clean and easily used. It was nice and ready for us. The front desk person reminded us that there are beach chairs and towels available for us to use if we decide to head to the beach. Our room was a king room with hot tub. Came with complimentary water, tea and coffee with its own coffee maker. Iron and ironing board available. The bathroom was a tight squeeze. I feel like the water was getting everywhere. Also, there was no exhaust in the bathroom. Glad that they had body wash, shampoo, conditioner and hairdryer available in the bathroom. The room came with a fireplace as well. The room did not have air conditioning just a ceiling fan so it can get stuffy easily if the fireplace is on. SERVICE: Great staff. The front desk person that checked me in was so nice, welcoming and helpful. I forgot his name but he was helpful with all of my questions since I am very unfamiliar with the hotel and parking. Room service was available but we did not use it. You are able to order from the restaurant menu for room service. So cool! Overall, I had a great time. The hot tub was perfect and relaxing. The service was so nice and if we ever needed anything in the room we were to just call to have more supplies or have things replaced. The location is so convenient. A perfect staycation or getaway! This was our anniversary trip and my wife was adamant she wanted a hot tub and this was a location she had her eyes set. We came by around 1pm before our 4pm check-in to get a parking pass because our pre-trip email said that was a option, so we said why not so we could kill time on the pier or somewhere else in Pismo. The reception desk was kind enough to check if a room was available and there was! So she checked me in and without a additional cost, which is a plus nowadays. The room was a Partial Ocean View and we were on the southwest corner of the place. Mind you there is a 2 story building right next door. The room was immaculate, decent sized bed for someone who is 6'3" and with a fireplace. No AC which is a drawback for me and for us who were facing the south and barely caught any breeze whatsoever, but we made it work and it wasn't too bad, not sure how comfortable it is during the summer. The hot tub was full and running and you just had to remove the cover and hop right in. Lets just say if you are squeamish about people watching you, this room is not for you. Lets just say the people in the 2 story building got a full on show, not that I cared. But I wasn't going to let my anniversary stay go to waste because someone wanted to watch. Big kicker they offer room service breakfast the next morning from Monday thru Friday and a weekend brunch. So you can enjoy breakfast in bed while you just stare out into the ocean or into partners beautiful eyes. Nonetheless I would be back, but I would opt for the full ocean view. read more

The view is great. I ordered eggs benedict. The eggs were a little runny on the whites but OK. The muffins were water soaked and squishy, I believe when the cook (not chef) pulled the eggs out of the water he did not bother to let the water drain out of the spoon. The ham was very, very thick so that I could not cut/nor bite a piece away. All was left on the plate but one egg. Waitress never came back except with the check 20 min later. She looked right at my plate with all the food (now cold) and kept walking. We paid and left and will not go back. read more

First off I do not know what happened to previous review. My husband and I have been here many times over 20 years. We went because we liked the pre-fix dinner for San Luis Obispo Restaurant month. We both had the warm beet salad, excellent. We also had the flat iron steak with fingerling potatoes and baby carrots. For desert my husband choice Chèvre Cheesecake and I chocolate avocado mousse. We have not eaten the dessert yet. I had two old fashions and boy were they large and maybe too good. Let's start with the positives 1. Bed was very comfortable 2. Shower pressure was fantastic 3. The hot tub was nice 4. Maintenance crew continued to do touch up to the facility without being in the way of the guests (very nice staff) 5. The gentleman who checked me in was very nice 6. Walking distance to pier and downtown. Now the negatives 1. I stayed in room 257, from @8pm to 10:30pm each night (Thursday and Friday), the restaurant on the 3rd floor would drag equipment, chairs tables and many other objects around directly overhead (think bowling alley just above you with no soundproofing between floors). On Saturday morning @6am the whole routine starts all over again for their brunch. Lack of sleep can crush a vacation stay. Not sure if it's just that room or all the rooms on the second floor. 2. The room only had 1 outlet by the bed (trivial I know, but when you sleep with a CPap machine it becomes a big problem). In short, nice hotel, but if you want restful sleep, stay away from the second floor. All the noise overhead kinda put a damper on our 33rd wedding anniversary celebration. read more

We like our annual stays at sea venture located in pismo beach right next to the beach as walking distance. I like the sea themed rooms that have a built in fireplace and a hot tub outside that can fit 2-3 people. There's WiFi inside. As for the food options there was only one restaurant open for the Christmas dinner special so we had to find another place to order to go. Breakfast is not included. Overall, would recommend for a local trip or if you want a stay by the beach. read more

The hotel looks great, but we weren't able to book a room as they could not accommodate a family with 3 kids in one room with parents. We travel a lot and stay in double rooms within an additional roll-away bed or a single chair that folds out. I was surprised to learn SeaVenture limits to 4 people per room. So disappointed. If you are a family traveling together with young kids and do not feel comfortable brewing separated to who-knows-which parts of the hotel then avoid booking here. read more

Great location and prices on off season. Love how close it is to the downtown area. Once you arrive you basically don't have to move your car til you leave. Beach walks right outside your door is a score and hearing the waves to fall asleep to a definite plus. Love the hot tub rooms. A pretty little hotel right on the edge of the boardwalk/walking path along the beach. The lobby area is very pretty and the desk agents that assisted us with check in were very friendly. The room was small (we expected that, it was only for one night and we planned on staying out until it was either too cold, or too dark) but nice. Just a warning during the warmer months, there is no air conditioning that we could find in the room. They do provide a standing, oscillating fan that we stood up on a chair and pulled the cool air into the room through the open window. This wasn't a huge issue for us, but I know it can be for others. The room was also very quiet, I don't know if we lucked out and had no neighbors, but the only noise we heard was in the hallways, right outside of the door. I hate paper thin walls, so that was a huge plus for me and my sleep. The bed was comfy, and the room had water and coffee available. Overall, it was a nice stay close to the pier, beach, and shops!! read more

I've stayed in the partial ocean view room. The room is always very clean. The view is still amazing being partial ocean view. The staff are wonderful and the restaurant is delicious. The view of Pismo Beach from the balcony is breathtaking. Nothing better than having your own private hot tub on the beach! The staff are absolutely amazing and catered to all my needs, every step of the way. The hotel is located right on Pismo Beach so there is no need to drive or find parking once you get there! The restaurant is absolutely on point! The seafood is to die for. I had the clam chowder, pork belly and scallops, and Vol Au Vent. Soooo good! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was great. Literally right off the beach. The hot-tub on the balcony was a huge plus and we used it every night. The room was just okay. The layout was strange, the room was small, minimal channels to watch when relaxing, and the bathroom was a bit old. The worst part was the cleaning staff. Hearing the staff yelling and laughing loudly early in the morning is not a way to wake up. I don't know that I would stay here again as my first choice, but maybe. read more

We had a great time! We were greeted with a bottle of Champagne to toast my husbands return from deployment- a very nice gesture. We had an ocean view room with fireplace and a hot tub. The private hot tub and view of the ocean, sound of the waves and glimpses of whales- they even had binoculars in the room...we loved it. My son did not want to leave. My honest feedback is that the hotel halls looks dated, like in the early 90s this was probably pretty fancy. Some normal wear and tear but it does look maintained. Its got a little hot tub outside and a small but efficient little gym. The rooms are more upgraded. Pretty, simple and clean. The bed was so comfortable and the towels were fresh. Cute little swings and a slide nearby. Overall, it was a great stay. It's clean. All the staff are so friendly and the restaurant and room service were really good! So convenient to eat there. Me and my family came down with our 3 month old baby. The same night I proposed to my significant other. We were playing some classical music in the room at night. No one complained about the music other than one staff member who name she would not give me, she also took off her name tag when I started to record her very rude comments and remarks. This person called the cops on us because she felt she was being verbally harassed after she came banging on my door at 12:23 am yelling at my family and I to turn down the music or she will have a cop "friend" arrest me. Long story short. I will not be spending my money on this once nice place. The hotel is amazing. However the staff has a very limited selection of nice honest people. Don't get me wrong. Everyone else at the hotel was amazing. But this person in the photo threatened me and my family with kicking us off the premises in the middle of the night. She successfully got a cop to intervene and bully his way in to then tell me and my three month old baby that we had to leave that moment or he faced with trespassing charges. Really disgraceful on how this was handled. I simple knock on the door would've been nice with a hey can you keep it down please. Rather we got the end of a brute big woman who yelled at us and banged on the door like she was the swat team. Sorry sea venture but my seasonal trips will not be here anymore if this brute works at sea venture. A great trip gone sour.... read more

Outdated funky smelling hallway and floor decor. The room itself was clean (Except for the shower). The shampoo/conditioner dispensers are extremely hard to use if you have arthritis. I'd recommend bringing your own if you are like me and have limited hand mobility. The hot tub was clean yet also outdated. At night we heard a lot of "thud" type noises from above but as soon as the restaurant was empty it got quiet. The location is obviously perfect. The staff were all super nice and helpful. Just wish they'd update some of the funky vibes. Also my car had been hit in the parking garage- with such tiny spots (and mine is a super small car) it was hard to imagine big vehicles parking there. The food at the restaurant was maybe 3 star (again, outdated funky vibes) but everyone was very friendly and the timing/execution was great! Would recommend for a beer and appetizer at the beach. read more

I booked a last minute reservation at the Sea Venture after a bad night at the Sea Gypsy (don't bother with Sea Gypsy, loud and run down). And this place is wonderful! Friendly staff, got a peek-a-boo view of the ocean with a private hot tub on the balcony. It's also clean and pretty quiet. My only gripe is while they do have refrigerators, I wish microwaves were in the rooms. It would be nice to heat up leftovers from lunch or dinner. Other than that, I see myself booking a future trip here again! read more

Where do I begin. We planned for a 4-night stay the week before Labor Day. The first thing I have to mention is the staff at this hotel. They are AMAZING! The friendliest people ever. Every single one of them. I loved walking in and out of the lobby, I felt as if I made friends with everyone at the front desk. That right there speaks volumes for a hotel. We were located on the 3rd floor at the very end of the hallway, with a balcony and hot tub. I sort of loved being on the end. We could see the ocean from our balcony, and hear the waves. Having a hot tub was AWESOME! What a great way to begin each morning and end each evening. We had preordered a bottle of champagne to be in our room when we arrived, it was still sitting in a bucket of ice. Very lovely to enjoy. We also ordered chips and a bucket of beers to be delivered the next day, everything was smooth, and it was a nice treat to enjoy. I highly recommend ordering breakfast to be delivered at least once, it was so nice to eat outside on the balcony while looking at the ocean. Be sure to take advantage of maid service, we only did it one day, but it felt so nice to come in from a long day and have a beautifully clean and made up room. Also, take full advantage of the "resort fees" that are already included in your room price. We took chairs and towels down to the beach one day. We had brought our own, but the hotel chairs were much more comfortable. I truly can't say enough wonderful things about this hotel, our trip was for 4-nights, and we had such a great time we added a night, and the hotel staff was completely accommodating. I can't wait to make another trip here. Location is everything, this is on the beach, for more amenities and lesser price than the new hotels. Enjoy!!! read more

It wasn't planned that way, but it worked out perfect to get away from all the smoke and ashes back at home. The SeaVenture Hotel was the perfect getaway for our 2 nights stay, even during Covid. I received a text the morning of check-in to enter info for Express Check-in, and later I got a text when our room was ready so I just had to pick up our keycards at front desk. We had chose the Partial Ocean view room. Even though the view was half of a public parking lot, it was still very relaxing to sit out there and enjoy our take-out meals. This was especially important during Covid since we are not doing outdoor dining, it's also too chaotic anyways with everyone else crowded outside. The pier is just a few steps away from the hotel and most popular restaurants another 5-10 minutes walk. We felt safe using the hot tub, there was a sign confirming that it's drained and sanitized after each checkout. It is also offer be drain daily if we wish during our stay but we opted out house keeping service since it was just a 2 nights stay. Pismo is a sleepy retirement town so most restaurants closes early. We came back late one night after visiting Sensorio and the front desk worker gave us a few recommendation for pickup not too far away. Thanks for telling us about Fatty's Pizza! There's no AC in our room, but it was nice/cool with our sliding glass window opened at night, and the fireplace was perfect to wake up to in the morning. The mini sink, Keruig coffee machine, and the wine fridge were definitely very useful too! We received email/text for contactless express check-out on our last day. We had a really nice time to get our mind off during our extended weekend stay, hope to visit again in the near future! read more
