My husband has been wanting to go this place for a longtime since, we have been hearing about this new restaurant from lot of people. It's close to where we both work hence finally decided to give it a try yesterday.
We walked-in around 8:15 and were seated right away. There were other diners but the it wasn't full.
Service:
The staff was nice and all but their is very poor. It took 0 mins for somebody to hand us over the menu card. We had to wait for few more minutes for somebody to take our other. They don't have their staff distributed evenly to cover all tables and pay equal attention. They are way too many people on the floor behind the bar but only couple of people working.
My husband and I are vegetarians so not lot of options there. We ordered just three dishes. A curry, two types of rotis and biryani! The curry and rotis came in 15 mins but it took them 40 mins, three reminders and a request to talk to their manager to get the biryani to our table.
Oh! they don't know who their manager is! When asked one of the servers to talk to their manager she was running around telling other employees I asked for a manager and couple of guys behind the bar refused to come and talk to us. Finally a guy came and spoke to us and kept apologizing with no solution. The place was 40% occupied and these people were running around with stress written all over their face, as if in a rush...
Food:
Roti and paratha were good. Bindi chole curry was ok. and I wanting to try something extremely different from what I regularly order (which I never do) ordered Gongura Paneer Biryani (right, what was I thinking). I said medium spicy! and I could hardly eat four spoons that too with yogurt sauce! The biryani was very sour and spicy and really bad! I hate wasting food so tried by best to eat a little (plus, I was starving) but I couldn't as my mouth and stomach were on fire! I finally spoke to 'so called manager' and gave this feedback and refused to pay for the biryani which, he honored.
Verdict:
I noticed that diners who ordered non-veg food were getting their food lot faster. And based on the reviews I heard from friends this place may be suitable for non-vegetarians. I can't speak to it though. If you would like to give it a I would definitely not recommend this restaurant for vegetarians as there are better choices in the same vicinity.
Suggestions to Pista house(if they are reading this review):
1. Pay attention to your customers, treat them well and don't ignore them or don't ignore the problems or complaints.
2. Train your staff on how to behave or treat customers and not to run away where there is an angry or agitated customer. PR skills are must to keep customers happy! Even if food is average and your service is really good, people will keep coming back.
3. Be open and honest with your customers! If a specific dish takes time say that upfront. If there is delay inform the customer.
4. Do not let your stress or rush show to the diners! There maybe a fire in your kitchen but you don't want your diners to know about it.
I don't think I am going back to this place...unless my husband emotionally blackmails me :P read more
