Tried them couple of times for Lunch. The food is quite spicy. They bring items to your table. Sometimes if you are not in their radar they might miss giving you food items. First time I went with colleagues it was okay. The appetizers were really good. The curries were okay. Desserts get 5 star. The chicken biryani was very spicy. I had an upset stomach later that day because the food had lot of different spices and was quite spicy. When we decided to pay the bill the guy came over to our table. He got confused because we wanted to divide the bill into 3 cards (we were 4 people) and put two bills into one card. He made so many faces and looked stressed/ frustrated as if he was doing us a favor. I could not hold myself and asked why he was so grumpy... i told him its okay to have a hard day and we understand. He can still smile. He said it was a busy day. Second time I went with my husband and mother in law. We were in the restaurant at 1.30ish and as per their timing for lunch they close around 3pm. Even then they were rushing us. The appetizers were good. The goat was not cooked, chicken curry was okay. Since we took non-veg plate they decided to never serve the veggie curries - I had to ask and wait for 20 mins to serve the veggie curries. While eating they decided to give us our check - so we looked around and their was only 1 table other than us and all servers seating and staring at the tables thinking when we would leave. We ordered a la carte chicken biryani for my MIL and it was just plain white rice with some chicken pieces. The biryani in the buffet was good but the a la carte order very disappointing. read more

5 of us went over to Pista House for dinner straight from work. We ordered veg bullet and Chilli Paneer for appetizers, both were fairly average. Chilli Paneer was sauteed enough, it was Chinese style and was sauteed in onion, bell pepper and some house sauce. For main course, we ordered a basket of bread, Yellow Dal, Bhaingan, Haleem, Bhindi Masala and Chicken Dum Biriyani. The Bhaingan and Chicken Biriyani were nice, Dal and Bhindi Masala were palatable but it was just about average. The Haleem was nice but very heavy, it is not a dish that one person can have alone. When this place has open some time back the food has been amazing and it was like a to go place for me.I used to drive from dc to Reston to have some good egg biryani (being a vegetarian).the quality and service has been deteriorated so badly that the biryani tastes like mixed fried rice.i thought the place got crowed so the the quality was reduced.But I used to still go for my friends who like the mutton biryani. but nowadays nothing seems to be up to the mark. This place had lots of reviews of good food and so me and my husband decided to try. We got seated pretty quickly as we entered as soon as the restaurant opened for Friday lunch (11:40 am). I am a vegetarian and so got a green colored plate so that servers know that they can serve only veggie food. Appetizers had to be requested thrice before they arrived. The place got full pretty quickly but the service was nothing short of "pathetic" . I left at 12:50 with having eaten just 2 appetizers (out of three as the third one did not come) and one round of veg curries and roti (which had to be requested 4 times). We did not get to Biryani and then finally dessert at all. Either rotis would come and be there without curries or curries would come with out rotis. When we complained all I got was "wait 30 sec". After 20 min of waiting for 30sec, my food did not come and I left after paying. Would never go back there however good the food is, if it is not served, it cannot be eaten :) read more

Clean and neat place with nice concept. Buffet lunch menu served on table . Starts from soup to appetizer to main courses and dessert . Everything tasted perfect may be on spicy side. I usually don't eat biryanis except what my wife cooks at home but I gave it a try and I was very impressed, it tasted like home made biryani. Dessert on menu are slightly different than you will see on majority of Indian restaurants in DMV area , kaddu ka meetha is very unique. Overall a pleasant experience. I have visited this place many times for buffet and their service is always excellent. We always come on after 2pm and even close to when they close at 3PM but they never rush you and they always take their time to go through the food selection. We did not know what to expect when we walked in and there was a pre-fixe type menu on the table. We almost walked out when the greeter told us .. it is a buffet, but we serve it table side. This is the worst restaurant I have ever been to. We have been there twice, first time we went around 9:30PM and we ordered 2 chicken biryani, they came back saying no biryani. Service is very wanting in this place. The food is good, but the service OMG. Servers dress like regular people coming to eat and there is no order to their service. We walked in; first time in there since the place was last called Mayuri. We were showed where to sit. Once seated, no introduction, nothing. Then I saw other people walking down doing the same thing to other tables and I was like ok, it appears they employ the same concept of service as those Brazilian meat places but how about you explain first to someone who just walked in before starting them off? Needless to say, took for ever for our food to come to the table and the servers had no clue which tables had already been served. Then to cap it off, the same person who showed us to our seats shows up with a handheld tablet and asks for payment. LOL! These people. We hand him our cards, he inserts it, shows us a request for a tip, then makes us sign and walks away. No word spoken apart from can I please get the payment? I was alarmed at this point. Stopped eating and wore my jacket and got out of there. Will never return. Oh I forgot. As we were about to leave, some other guy asks us if we paid! And goes to verify if we paid. They constantly checked while passing by our booth , refilled water / raita .. thats good multitasking . Now this being my second time here - I happen to notice the decor more closely, like how they have the seven wonders framed on the wall . Food - I expected food to be very spicy but it wasn't ..it did not kill my taste buds . It was quite flavorful unlike the other restaurants we have been to . Authentic Hyderabadi cuisine. Everything was so delicious and lot of options on the menu to choose from. Hyderabadi Chicken 65 was so juicy and perfectly spiced and fried. Tangdi kabab was super yummy as well. The chicken kabab platter which comes with 3 types of chicken - Kandari chicken/Hara Kothimiri chicken/ Creamstone chicken tikka is a must have as well, all 3 had unique flavours. All the kababs were perfectly cooked (not over cooked unlike most other Indian restaurants in US). If you like mutton, then Pathar ka Gosht and Haleem are a must have as well, Haleem was one of the best I have had in last few years. Murgh Musallam with Tandoori roti was a perfect combo and finger-licking good. Briyani I always prefer mutton briyani, but they ran out of it as we went quite late, but the chicken dum briyani was not that great when compared to the other dishes and when we mentioned that they didn't charge us for the Briyani. Went here because of the commercial on the Radio. We went for the Sunday "buffet" lunch. Felt like a zoo with kids running everywhere and noise levels through the roof. I came across this restaurant while searching for Indian food near me. I was bored trying the same Indian restaurants and this popped up. The food honestly is a bit overpriced for the quality of food they serve. My order has included lamb biryani and haleem. Mind you the biryani was good but there was no meat in the lamb biryani. The haleem was spicy though I requested it to be mild. The haleem is not well cooked and you can taste the burnt onions that they use as a topping. Overall, it is an OK place to try one time only.
