READ MY AWESOME-GOOD REVIEW -My family & I just picked our new spot. I couldn't believe it, My wife & I (we have fun :)) have FOUR kids so all six of us ordered a double-sized "The Wreck" (I will not explain this, you have to order it - I couldn't even get started on it at the resturaunt so now I'm eating it a day later and it SO FRIGGIN GOOD!!! We got so much... chili cheese fries (I'm a no-beans chili snob and their's was insanely good and SPICY!) Some lady commented that the chili wasn't amazing and that is crazy. I used to judge chili competitions and I can say that if you do like meaty, saucy, beanless chili it is PERFECT & AMAZING. It is (no joke) the best chili I have ever had. We had lightly battered sampler of golden-fried zuchini sticks, golden-battered mushrooms, onion rings... corndogs, sodas, lemonade, an incredible burger with swiss, mushrooms and jalapenos with crisp green lettuce... a REAL VANILLA MALT... I can't remeber what else -it all cost around $30 and not only were we stuffed but we brought home about 10 pounds of food wrapped to-go style for munching later (and the next day! :)) The cashier messed up a couple things but who cares!? The service from the staff was friendly of course, but moreso they were attentive and genuine, all concerned with my requests genuinely and not treating my like an issue... I never missed a beat in my eating - it was just hands across the table going from one amazing dish to another! It was like the show "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" with Guy Fieri sponsored this place! My kids LOVED it, my wife LOVED it and I am still eating it as we speak, I can't believe we didn;t know about it... it was SO INEXPENSIVE I still can't believe it. -from James & Brandy Uruchurtu... and all the kids, You guys f****** rock and I was it my pleasure, Thank You. :) We're coming back for sure and I'm bringing friends & family - We're taking on the menu. read more

Easy 5/5 for Pit Stop Diner -- this place is just a fun, feel-good experience. Food-wise, it's solid diner fare with a huge range of American classics. I tried the chicken sandwich--it was good, more of that classic fast-food style, but compared to spots like Raising Cane's, Hot Chickz, or Dave's Hot Chicken in the area, it didn't quite stand out. That said, my friend ordered the chili dog and was absolutely in heaven (it's her go-to), so I'm definitely planning to come back and try something more recommended next time. The staff really stood out--super kind, attentive, and just a great group of young people working hard and keeping the vibe positive. Ambiance is where this place shines. It's genuinely fun--quirky decor, plastic hubcaps on the ceiling (had me joking they came from the busy intersection outside), and a lively, social energy. There was even a DJ setting up as we were leaving--He was super friendly and easy to chat with. The space is big, and they host private events too--there was a huge but low-key 70th birthday party going on while we were there. And even so we could easily chat. For context, diners usually don't excite me much (though I've always liked Corvette Diner), but this one surprised me. Pit Stop is a casual, car-themed diner that is a fun spot to grab a quick bite. Expect prices on par with fast food chains, but a little more ambiance. The theme is well executed with walls covered in license plates, road signs, and memorabilia. A vintage car is prominently displayed in the center of the dining area. Place your order at the counter up front and you will receive a number, then someone will deliver your food to the table. I am always impressed at how fast they are! There is a sign asking to pay cash (all small businesses prefer this) and an ATM for convenience. This place is large inside and could easily accommodate groups or birthdays. No Alcohol. No Pets. Family Friendly. The menu consists of hamburgers, hotdogs, sandwiches, and milkshakes. The portions are good, especially for the price. I always order a cheeseburger, fries, and an oreo shake. The cheeseburger has lots of toppings and a thin patty. This is probably not the best choice for a meat-lover, but they have enough options to accommodate most preferences. Pit Stop is my go-to place in Oceanside when I am craving a burger and shake because it is affordable, relaxing, and the staff is always very nice! read more

"Where's the beef???" I was curious about the size of the burger so I asked the cashier, I appreciate that she was honest in telling me that the hamburgers are "very thin" lol She is right. If this place put as much energy into they're food as they do their decor - business would be booming. I went during lunch time and I was 1 of 3 customers, not a good sign. You know it's never a good sign when the food is over salted and over seasoned....a sign that they don't use quality ingredients. 7 hours later, both my husband and I still feel dehydrated....the food is loaded with salt - this comes from someone who Loves salty food - ouch, that' s saying something. Based on reviews about the food, I was expecting home made onion rings, not the case, another food item that was over seasoned and tasted very bland. You get what you pay for here, the low prices match the low quality food. This place ought not call itself a "Diner". Some Diner's across the country have rock'n food. Perhaps they ought to consider a name change, "Pit Stop", or "The Pits". read more

I love Pit Stop! I wish I would have known about it sooner. When I first noticed it I had no Idea it was a diner. I thought it was something like a auto zone. My friends actually thought it was a barber shot. I know if they change their name or advertise more or showed more of it being a diner they would get more business. There are a bunch of food options, all made fresh. The food is great with fresh flavors. My friends and I shared a banana split (great to share). I also got a banana malt that was fantastic! The customer service was very friendly and helpful. They helped me decide on what I wanted by recommendations. The scenery was very colorful and inviting. They have a very cool old school car in the middle of the diner and licensee plates all over the wall. There is plenty of seating and every table is different. Every time I come with my friends, we sit some where different to look at all the different tables filled with photo's and maps. I recommend this place to everyone I no! If your ever in the town you MUST check it out!! read more

We love this place and even decided to have our car club meetings there (on the second Tuesday of each month) in the big meeting room in the back of the restaurant. The food is great and prices are very reasonable. The decor is car themed and it is a fun place. A '62 Chrysler New Yorker sits proudly in the dinning room, license plates and hubcaps decorate the walls and you could spend a week there and not see all the cool decorations. Jim the owner knows the restaurant business and is the perfect host. His staff is friendly and the food is comfort food. Come by on the second Sunday in the afternoon and there is a free car show (except October, Jim heard about Rancho Buena Vista High School having a car show that day and canceled his). Been here a few times keep wanting to give it a chance because their selection seems to be pretty good. The people are decent here but the food is just plain BAD. If you're looking for that low quality, high price, make you sick every time you eat it food, then you've found your place! The only food that doesn't make us sick here is their ranch dressing. Yeah the dressing is good but everything else is just not worth the stomach ache or the cash. Beware of their breakfasts!! We were both sick for almost a week because of their breakfast burritos!! This has no 50s diner feel to their food. It's as if McDonald's expanded to diner take out. Old food just reheated and tastes like it's been sitting out all day... Bleh! Gross! No more chances we won't be coming back everything sucks... except the ranch dressing. read more

One word: AMAZING! Everything from the nostalgic 1950's decor to the delicious food. Everything is amazing. Prices are very affordable and the food always hits the spot. Some of my favorite menu items are the Bacon Avocado Burger, The Wreck Breakfast Wrap, 4x4 Burger, and their Pastrami Sandwhich. But my absolute favorite food from Pit Stop is their Fries! I love the seasoning on their fries. I recommend Pit Stop to everyone. I always bring my out-of-town friends and family there and they love it. And the service is great. Everyone there is always friendly. If you haven't been to Pit Stop yet, I think its about time you do. read more

Keep in mind that this place is a traditional diner, so the food is simple and American. With that being said, it's GREAT quality food! The prices are amazing, and there is tons of cool stuff to look at while you wait for your food. It's a local spot, so it gets pretty packed after church on Sunday's, after youth sports on Saturdays. You have to wait in line to order, so if you can't be standing for too long or if you are impatient, you should definitely hold off for a weekday. To me, it's totally worth the wait on the weekends! We get the chilli cheese fries, a burger with an egg, and the turkey avocado sandwich. read more

I love this place.....their food is just plain good and the prices are great especially when you have a family of 4. the Good.. The place is huge so its great for groups, menu is priced well so its affordable, i've tried quit a few things on the menu and liked everything... so happy this place is surviving the last few businesses in this location went under in months...Congrats! The Bad... the only recommendation i would make is to add some kind of arcade or game area for the kids, they host so many fundraisers and events and the kids just run wild in there. read more

This place reminds me of Legends diner in Glendora. Pit Stop is a nice Car/Automobile themed restaurant that serves up solid comfort food. I'm glad they serve breakfast all day and they have a cool kitschy vibe. We ordered the patty melt and chicken fried steak with two eggs and hash browns. They serve up a good patty melt but the chicken fried steak gravy was way too bland and the hash browns under cooked and mealy. Maybe I'll have better luck with their burgers, and according to the pictures looks fantastic. read more

Everything is made from pre-cooked, frozen, poor quality food. Flash fried mecca if you want. Nothing is made fresh, and there are no fresh ingredients. Its a glorified in-n-out burger that uses way too much salt. Everything we ordered was bland and boring. Also, the staff is just working to work. Nothing to write home about. Ordered a sandwich. It came without cheese, without thousand island, without pickles, without onion. Just lettuce and tomato. Seriously? Menu says all sandwiches come with these ingredients but when I complained to attendant she informed me that my sandwich as well as a few others are "different" from the rest of the menu. Wow! Amazing food! I am always super pleased with the service and the prices. This diner has a great vibe and I love all the auto collections. I've been here many times for lunch and dinner. Sometimes just for a milkshake. All of their food is great! I have yet to find anything that I don't like off their menu. My favorite is the Pastrami Sandwich with french fries. I often take my kids here for a quick bite to eat, whilst it looks like a Dennys and offers really cheap food, it's always really good! My kids favorite is the French Toast, I love the breakfast menu. Friendly staff, and overall fast service. If you're looking for basic, affordable food on the run, try this place out. You know a business is great when no matter what time you go, they have a line that develops from loyal customers :) Prices are great, always able to get a meal for less than $5 that is filling. For food conscious people, they have vegetarian options and can substitute just about anything. All ages can find something to eat as well, kids and grandparents! My husband, son and I love to come here. The service is great and quick, other companies should take note. The food is priced right to feed the 3 of us we always spend under 20 bucks which is a plus and it is good food. The decor is fun and car themed and we love it. Our family loves to go the the Pit Stop Diner! The kids love the classic car they have in the dining area and checking out all the license plates on the walls. The food is good and is prepared pretty quickly. I usually only get hamburgers and fries so I can't comment on any of their other food. I'm sure it's good though... read more
