Great food! I had a triple patty Pit Stop Burger and it was delicious!!!! I was a little bummed that it didn't come with fries or a side for $13 so just the burger. You can get a 3x3 from in and out for $6. My wife had the 4 piece chicken tender meal, this came with fries, fried zucchini and a couple of onion rings, lots of food for the price!! The fries were pretty soggy BUT we had them delivered so that may have been the issue there. The RANCH was insanely good, they sent plenty with the order. As soon as you walk in, it's like a stepping into a 50's Cars diner! Super cute decor with license plates, hub caps, and Chevy pics all over. Not to mention a car and some gas pumps in the middle of the restaurant and a working stop light! Next, the service was great and the cashier was very helpful with helping us decide what to order since it was our first time there. You walk up to the counter, order from a menu of breakfast all day, burgers, sandwiches, steak, chicken, salads, or shakes for dessert! Prices are super reasonable, even if you want to upcharge something like getting onion rings instead of fries with a combo meal. Then you get a number and get to choose where you'd like to sit or you can take out. They have two large and long high top tables so you can definitely bring a big party. There's a soda machine with coke options, tea, and lemonade. They also serve coffee with flavored creamers. Lastly and most importantly, the food was fabulously delicious! We both had cheeseburgers, mine was the regular cheeseburger that comes with 1000 dressing and normal veggies; and my husband got the outlaw burger which came with bbq sauce, bacon, and onion rings on it. We both got combo meals so onion rings with mine and chili cheese fries with my husbands and we each got drinks. We love this place! I've been going here for about 11 years. I love their burgers and fries, biscuits and gravy, hashbrowns and milkshakes. My husband loves their omelettes. I hate to say it but a 2-star rating is the best I can give Pit Stop...for now. Staff: not friendly, seemed unhappy or annoyed, somewhat impatient, no smiles at all. They got our order right but that should be a given. Food: disappointing. Not gross but not good. It's like the food is an afterthought. Like, "let's make a really cool place for people to come hang out...oh and maybe we can sell them something to eat while they're here." Dry chicken strips which didn't even have very much actual chicken. Boring French fries. Less than average hamburger. Side salad seemed pretty fresh. Son's pancake breakfast was decent. Coke at the drink dispenser was out of syrup. Cleanliness: it wasn't a total mess. The tabletops were like permanently sticky, though. Not a fan of that. The bathrooms weren't in good shape.Paper towels spilling out of the trash can into the floor. Value: not bad prices but for what you get still not worth it to me. I probably won't be coming back here anytime soon, unfortunately, and it bums me out to say that. If it wasn't for the rad decor and overall interior concept (the classic car INSIDE the restaurant, for example), I'd give this joint a 1-star rating. MAYBE I'll come back again in a couple years if/when my second son develops a love of cars like my first son. I hope to be able to increase my rating of this place after that visit. read more

Monday 1PM 3/9/20 Restaurant management desperately needed... Somebody call Gordon Ramsay or Robert Irvine immediately!!! The BAD: Dirty tables...only one employee serving food...30+ people in restaurant. You need to bus your own table, and nobody is wiping down tables after people walk out leaving their mess behind. Crumbs and dried condiments (ketchup, 1000 island dressing) all over many tables. 50¢ surcharge for credit cards. WTF? Five TV screens,  but none working. Prices are sky high, given what you get. And they have a stupid add-on where "making it a combo" (drink and fries, which are the cheapest things you can have in a restaurant) costs a whopping $4 more! Food service is slow. Waited at least 20 minutes for burger, sandwich. One of the ice machines didn't spit out ice. The OK: Food was tasty, my burger bun was over toasted. They do try to compensate for the small burgers and sandwiches with a ton of seasoned fries, which are good. Used to go here often in the first couple of years they were open and prices seemed reasonable. Won't be back again, because nothing has changed. read more

This place is a gem of Oceanside. The food is consistently great, and they have a lot of variety on their menu. The staff and new owner are very hospitable. Plenty of parking and space inside to sit with the family and friends. To expand on the menu, they have items from many different cuisines. Mexican, American, Greek-- diner food, breakfast menu, full dinners - they've got you covered. I guarantee you'll find something here to order again. I myself am partial to the club sandwich, which comes with a generous portion of fries. Make sure you ask for a side of ranch because they make that themselves and it's delicious. I've also had a variety of breakfast items, like their massive burritos. All delicious. I actually cannot remember a menu item I've ordered that didn't taste great. Tonight my family and I got desert here for the first time (a banana split) and it also did not disappoint. Highly recommend this place. It will become your consistent go-to. The floors, the chairs, the walls, the trash cans, the bathrooms are disgusting and need a deep deep professional cleaning from an outside company. Further you have raised your prices in the last year stupidly and top it off with a charge to use a credit card. WTF!!! We stopped by on the way home from Disneyland for a quick bite to eat. The decor is really neat and theres a vintage car inside the restaurant. Of course I have two boys who were dying to get up close and personal with the car. Don't touch the car! This place is spacious with a very extensive menu. It's almost overwhelming to go over for just diner food. They even had mexican food options. The food is okay.. good diner food. They do give a lot of fries with their meals. I had the greek salad and it was decent, just wasn't a fan of the iceberg lettuce.. wish they used more of greens instead. The meal portions are definitely shareable by two and the prices are cheap. We love going to the pit stop diner. The ambiance and decor is so themed and so fun right when you walk in, very unsuspecting from the outside. The service is always 10/10. There is a car in the center of the diner and there are various street signs, logos, license plates, cool decor, and various displays to look at. Their menu has a large selection of burgers, sandwiches, salads, and even breakfast items. Portions are big and plenty of seating indoors. Orders are taken quickly but food service is slow. Not sure how I've never reviewed this place before! To be clear, the 5 star rating isn't because everything you get here will be the best thing you eat. It just won't always be the best. Service: Instead of being seated and picking from a menu at your seat, you stand at the front, order, and go sit down. I've actually never been to a diner like this, and it was a great experience. The hostess/cashier was friendly and funny, and the food came out quickly. Coffee: Since you ordered at the front, the Pit Stop Diner gave you your own refillable cup to the coffee. I appreciated the fact I could refill my coffee at my choosing and with a large to go cup), was a huge perk for me. Food: The Pits top Diner has every type of food you can imagine.  One thing I appreciated was breakfast and lunch all day.  If you want a huge burger at 8 is, go for it!  Omelet for dinner, go for it! I decided to order the Steak and Eggs. It came with toast, steak, and eggs. I've picked up "To go" here twice. First visit, the bathroom was out of order so the place had a latrine smell plus they said no milkshakes after 9pm since they'd already cleaned the machine. It was a bit of a disappointing experience but the burgers were pretty good so I thought a second trip was in order. Second visit was better. The place was really busy but the ordering process was quick and easy. Bathrooms in good working order! Fries and onion rings are the usual US Foods frozen kind. I walked on to order, it was quiet and wasn't sure if they were open because I didn't see anyone. I ordered 4 Fish and Chip Dinners for 9.99! What a great deal! Everyone loved it!
