I have been taking my 11month old black lab mix, Meesha, to Pit Stop for the last few months and it's been such a positive experience. Meesha will pull me to their front door and is always excited to see whichever staff member is there to greet her. She always seems sort of bummed to leave and passes out when she gets home which is exactly what I'm hoping for her. There are always a number of dogs for her to play with and in my observation from the window, it is always an energetic, but polite group of dogs. Meesha loves to play with other dogs, but going to the dog park has had its harrowing experiences. I never feel anxious to leave her for a full day; the staff is attentive and the dogs are never barking their heads off the way they do when stressed at the dog park. Pit Stop is also really flexible with their scheduling and it feels like they are always available, so I can always make a last minute call to have Meesha play even for a few hours. I've also used Pit Stop for their overnight services. Meesha was there with four other dogs, all hanging upstairs with lots of attention through the whole sleepover. I get the impression that Sheehan and all the other staff love their job and what they're able to provide for the pups. I'm so glad this places exists in South Philly. read more

I started bringing my doge here since Shiba Inu's are well known for being pretty high energy. Not only is this daycare the most affordable I have seen in the city, but my dog- Sam's behavior has changed tremendously for the better. He is more socialized now and his leash aggression which has been torture to deal with in the past is completely gone. For those of you that have dealt with owning (what i thought was) an aggressive pet, I am sure you can understand the relief and happiness one feels when they get to watch their dog play with other dogs and get along them. They are dog whisperers over there, and I am very satisfied with the services they provide. The location is great and just what the Italian Market needed. The employees are passionate and personable. I see great things to come for them in the future. If you are considering doggy daycare for your pet and live in this neighborhood, then I highly suggest giving these guys a try. It is a place where a dog can dog, and where little ruffians like mine can LEARN to be a dog. It Doesn't get any better than that!!! read more

Pit Stop has been awesome, and I recommend them highly. They have been taking care of our puppy from when he was a bit over two months old to now when he is five months. When we got him, we had little idea of how much work it is to take care of a puppy while working full-time jobs. Sheehan and friends have really stepped up and we couldn't have done it without them. From taking him in early in the morning to work with our schedules to feeding him mid-day till he's gotten older, they have been wonderfully accommodating. Besides being so kind to us, we really like their setup and professionalism. They open on time, take care of the dogs well, answer messages and phone calls promptly and update their facebook page with pictures and video of your dog. They take in a very reasonable number of dogs, have activities and little training sessions, time in the pool and space for the dogs to have some downtime and take a snooze too. From the first phone call I made to Pit Stop asking about their services, I knew I had found the right place. They were so excited to meet my dog and told me I could come in that Sunday afternoon which was perfect. Our dog Ozzy had so much fun that first day checking out the really clever set up and the awesome back yard. The trainers were so friendly and SO enthusiastic about their jobs and seemed very happy to work at Pit Stop. I could tell they took their jobs seriously and that was really important to me, that my dog be supervised at all times. I have so much peace of mind during the day while he's there and he comes home with the biggest puppy grin on his face. My husband and I can't say enough good things about this place. We love telling people all about it and showing the pictures Pit Stop posts on their Facebook account. I have been taking my doggie to Pit Stop since the first month they opened and am so happy to see how much they have grown in less than a year. They have clearly met a need in the neighborhood. My dog Elsie loves it there. She pulls like crazy when she realizes that she is headed to daycare and comes out exhausted - a great thing. Everyone has always been loving and kind to her and to me, and it is a relaxed environment. The staff has also taught her manners - a good thing, as we are bad at it at home! When we went on an 18 day vacation I had no worries about leaving her with Sheenan - in fact she didn't really want to come home when I returned! read more

We've been taking our pup to the Pit Stop for occasional daycare since March, and we absolutely love it! Sheehan and his staff are so welcoming and accommodating, and they take such good care of our pup, Molly. She is a little shy with the other dogs, and they always make sure that she feels secure during her time there. Everything about the Pit Stop has made our lives so much easier - the online scheduling, amazing weekend hours, great pricing and daycare packages, and relief of knowing that our dog is in excellent hands when we're at work. Had to give an update on my review below. The owner sent me a private message calling me a "homophobic cis dude" for leaving an honest review. He also said "you're more of a girl than your girlfriend", whatever that means. When I wouldn't take my review down, he changed his response to a lie saying I'm a disgruntled employee, when I am indeed a former customer who brought my dog for daycare several times over the last year. What kind of business is this? This owner is mentally unstable, and I would never trust him anywhere near my dog. I am new Pit Stop HQ client. My experience has been nothing short of amazing. My dog was hesitant at first and through their patience, love of animals and professionalism, he finally came around. He now pulls me into the space knowing full well he will be loved ALMOST as much as I love him :) My favorite parts of the business are: 1) they can bath my dog anytime I request before I pick him up so he is nice and fresh and 2) the staff are ridiculously nice, accommodating and patient. This is a great place run by great people who love dogs. Their hours are super helpful to people that need to be at work early or stay late. My dog skips right in with no hesitation, and they have a little cut out for you to spy on the pups at play as you walk by. Great for making sure your dog is well socialized, and for keeping those with separation anxiety happy while their humans work to put food in their bowls . Love this place. My pup knows exactly where we're headed when we're on our way to Pit Stop and she gets super excited on the walk over. She barely even says bye to me or my husband when she gets there she's just so pumped to be at day care and play with all her doggy friends. She also comes back EXHAUSTED, which is hard to do for our very high energy puppy. And the staff is really friendly and helpful, which is definitely a plus for a first time dog owner like me. We love Pit Stop Hq!! Our Hamilton has some leash aggression and reactive issues, we weren't even sure doggie daycare was an option for us.But Sheenen and all of the super nice people that work there were great with Hamilton, he fit in nicely, he loves being there and comes home tired and content. He's even stayed over night, on very short notice, not in a crate but free and on the sofa. They even opened a bit early to accommodate our travel plans! Such a great find!! read more

It was the first time we boarded our dog Francie and we were a bit nervous! Pit stop was great with making us feel better about her stay, which was cage less (super bonus). They were thoughtful and attentive with her paperwork and made sure everything was in order for her stay. Our dog loves the company from his fellow canine friends as well as all the attention he gets from the staff that work there. My dog Zea and I love Pit Stop! They are extremely accommodating and flexible. I love that I can bring and pick her up any time of the day and that they have services like baths, nails and walks home. Everyone is friendly and prices are good. Friendly, accommodating, and affordable. Griff absolutely loves this place. I'm surprised he hasn't jumped over the counter yet at check-in. Sleeps for a whole day after coming home.
