Bad service. No product. The store was dirty and I saw insects crawling on the table. Gross.

First off, I'm a regular, loyal customer and it's always been good, except the last 2 times. Don't hate on me because I expect it right every time. I won't speak of last week's let down, I'm over it. But yesterday was just awful. I get through the long line to the last protein stop before paying. "Hard pita" she said and sent me to the back of the growing line. OK, fine. I finally get to the protein part again and she throws on beef. I don't want beef. I'm sent to the back of the line, again! No. After 20 minutes I leave without food and forced to eat somewhere else to eat something I didn't want. I know nothing about running a restaurant. But I know that putting a loyal customer to the back of the line 3 times while employees are making loyal customers go elsewhere, something's wrong. NO food is that good. Strike 2, 1 more and I'm taking my loyal money elsewhere. read more

My husband and I have been coming to Pita Bistro for four years and last night we both agreed it wasn't what we are use to in quality. When we first arrived we noticed the a remodel to seating area, which was nice since we now have a little one and I remember the old set up being a little cramped. We were the only people in line and in the restaurant so I figured we could take our time since it's been a while. There were three employees working in the back, but they were working as though they were about to close. As soon as my husband started to order, the guy behind the counter seemed to be rushing him. Before my husband could finish saying one thing, the guy was like, " what else ? Ok, what else?" If you would chill out for a second, he will tell you what else and you could save asking so many times. He then makes my bowl, but since I already knew what he was going to do I just kept the ball rolling. When we got to the protein he puts the meat and hurries to check us out. I then let him know I've got the Yelp check in coupon which he grabs the bag of pita chips and gives us and then proceeds to finish the sale. However, I also had a save 15% off, so he' informs me I need to put my number in. After we pay and sit down we then realize he never asked if we wanted pita bread because he was concerned with getting us, the only people in line, out the line. When I go back up to get it, a young lady was wiping the counter, she said she would get it. So I walk to get forks and come back and she has it in her hand but now helping another customer and now the customer who has already paid (me) has become a lower priority. After we are seated another person starts sweeping literally right around us. Im sure if I had lifted my feet, she would have swept underneath. My husband and I then make the observation that the meat portion is much smaller then it used to be and the pita bread somehow was soggy. At this point I realize the Pita Bisto doesn't seem the same. I'm usually excited about packing leftovers, but this time I wanted to throw away not only the food but the experience as well. When we got to our cars we mentioned how disappointed we were, sucks even more because we live in East Mesa. The store itself is nice, but definitely need to have customer service oriented people working, like some that worked here in the past. Not sure if and when we will return after this. read more

First time trying this place. Service was great as for the food I can't say the same. I got the kick'n kabob and the chicken kabob tasted pretty stale. Not to mention their serving size for pita bread is a tiny triangle which was so disappointing because I ordered two thinking they're full size as other restaurants serve. On top of that I wasn't given or offered a receipt from my order. I've been to other modern Mediterranean restaurants with definitely better quality food and quantity that's is definitely worth the price of the food plate. Oh no, as much as it hurts I had to drop them to 3 stars today. 1, seriously no roasted red pepper hummus? 2. Place was dirty. A lot of the tables were dirty, behind the counter seemed disorganized and dirty. Just didn't seem tight. They have like food on display, it looks like it's been out all day. Just doesn't male the good look appetizing. 3. Where is my pita bread? I got 3 little triangles of bread, but it is no PITA. It was bland and cold. Looked and tasted like pita I can get at my local grocery store. For shame. I hope they make a comeback, I was disappointed overall. They went from great to average. read more

Great place! Heads up due to Covid: If you are interested in Dine-in *outside of lunch hours*, call ahead to check on their dine-in hours - they might be limited to pre-dinner time. This place is great. When I was working near Sky Harbor, this place was one of my favorite lunch places. Fresh, delicious and satisfying portions! I would get the bowl and they would load it on. We would do going-away lunches here. Also, pretty great place if you have food sensitivities, as there are a lot of different options. I can't eat nightshades but I could eat here :) Staff was very helpful with that. Great service. Writing this review because, even though I live 30 minutes north of this place, when I wanted to take my mom out for dinner, I thought of Pita Bistro and decided it would be worth the drive! I've ordered postmates from here way more than once. They have messed up on the order a couple times which can either be their fault or postmates, but either way I can honestly say that this place is delicious. I usually do a "Create a bowl." This is very versatile (see my picture and try it if you dare) and I usually get the same thing over and over. I love, love pita in general and the pita is so soft and it tastes amazing with the traditional hummus. The pita chips are good, too! :) Thanks guys! I cannot get enough of Pita Bistro! It is always fresh and incredibly savory! The establishment is clean and friendly. They have a full bar and happy hr as well! It is a fav in our house. I always get the bowl with brown rice and lettuce with orig hummus and extra jalapeños and cucumbers! Extra PB sauce is a must and both proteins gyro and chicken. Btw the chicken is amazing! In my opinion it was very runny hummus and not very tasty. It was my first time and last time. I asked for chicken to go with my hummus and they poured some gross looking meat on it. My go to spot for lunch when I'm in the area, and even when I'm not.. sure the lines are always long, but a well trained staff keeps that crowd moving at a fast pace. I usually opt for the build your own bowl, i choose any of the 3-4 flavors of hummus offered and start with some lentils, from there I add pickles, beets (their beets are amazing), cucumber, olives, tomato, some feta, and THE BEST GARLIC PASTE EVER.. and another scoop and another scoop.. finally choosing my meat .. usually gyro or chicken. I explained to the girl who was putting it together it was my first time there, and she walked me thru the process and had suggestions when I was not sure. You get a TON of food for the price. Girls working here have attitude I mean if you don't like your job that's fine, but don't be disrespectful. I was up charged for not adding items to my bowl. Was a regular customer, but after trying to portion control my meal for dietary reasons, I was disappointed in their lack of flexibility. Was told I had to pay extra ($1.99) for them to put the hummus I was already getting in my bowl, on the side. What!?...I'm asking for customer service, not something for free! I love the hummus bowls at Pita Bistro. I do the build your own with chicken and load it up with veggies. They always put a ton of hummus in the bowl and plenty of the veggies I pick. They have regular or whole wheat pita bread to top it off with. I usually can't eat the entire thing in one serving and end up saving some for later. It's a great value for your money. This place has a huge lunch rush so get there early if you can. The line does move quickly though. If you come in the evening it's very rarely busy. This place is always packed so I thought it would be good but was seriously disappointed. I paid $8+ tax for a gyro wrap and it was stone cold. They make it in front of you like a Chipotle but that means the meat is just sitting out in warming plates. I also barely got any lamb/beef gyro meat. I used to love coming here, but another store I can no longer patronize. I am on a special medical diet and I used to be able to come here and purchase chicken and veggies ala carte. However I went today and was informed that if I wanted to have cucumbers and tomatoes that I would have to purchase a full salad; which for medical reasons I can not eat a full sized salad. I asked could I purchase the veggies ala cart separately again I was told no, because "he" doesn't like to do it that way. I'm an employee at St. Joe's right down the street and I needed something quick, inexpensive and healthy (and preferably vegetarian) for lunch. I ordered from Pita Bistro and I am super happy. This was my first time trying them, but it certainly will not be my last. I ordered the feisty falafel wrap, the greek salad and hummus and veggies (jalapeno/cilantro hummus). First of all, the portions were very generous, especially for how inexpensive the meal was. I have only had a little bit of everything so far, but WOW, so good. The only thing that could be improved is that I did specifically ask in my order for no tomatoes on each of my dishes, and they definitely all came with tomatoes. The older lady, I don't know her name, was so rude and Unaccommodating. Wouldn't let me customize my bowl after I TOLD her I would be paying for the extras. The food was decent. Nothing I'm amazed about, but it's quite what I expected from a conveyor belt Mediterranean place. It was also very clean and organized in the building. I mainly docked it down because the staff seemed super bland and robotic. I asked a few questions and got blank stares back. They never were very friendly and I'm wondering if they even have personalities at all....? I was very disappointed because my boyfriend and I were hoping to get a glass of wine from the bar while we ate, but no one was behind there. When we asked an employee, their response was that the bartender was on break and they didn't know how to do the bar stuff. When we told her we just wanted a glass of wine, she shrugged and walked away. I'll give them the benefit of doubt: maybe they were all underage and not allowed to pour alcohol. Never been here before. Went with a friend. I ordered a Gyro Bowl. Had most of the fixings. For the meat, I ordered the beef/lamb combo. I was stunned on the first bite. It was absolutely delicious!
