This is by far one of the BEST Middle Eastern food options I've ever had. I ordered some take out on a whim because I happened to be in the hood. I nearly crashed because I couldn't help but take a few bites while I drove home. It was SO SO GOOD. By the time I got home, I'd eaten all of my dinner and was just about to get started on my husband's wrap. We ended up using them to cater my graduation party and our guests went bonkers! Liz-Marie is very warm and welcoming, truly a gem (definitely deserves a raise! ;) We have been in Boston since yesterday and didn't have good luck with lunch or dinner last night, we were skeptical about trying out this joint but we headed over to the restaurant after speaking with her over the phone. She was right, we loved the food. The flavors are spot on!! The beef shawarma was most tender I've had (and I've had many!). Chicken kebob had a smoky charbroiled flavor, so tender and juicy!! The food at pita is SO GOOD. Every meal is a hit and I have no complaints. One thing to remember about this location is that there is no seating available and so if that's what you're looking for I would recommend another pita location. Lamb was very dry, the rice bland, and the cashier charged extra to pay with credit card, then oddly attributed the difference to meals tax. The menu on the board said $14.50 for a lamb plate and the charge was $17.20. Go figure. Won't be back. read more

So far, I've eaten here twice and the quality has varied. The first time, I ordered the Delux Kebab combo plate (mix of chicken, kafta, and lamb kebabs). While the lamb kebab was a little tough, the rest was tender and delicious. For my second visit, I ordered the Shawafel roll up (mix of chicken shwarma and falafel in a pita). The chicken and falafel were both hard and dry, like they had been sitting out for a long time. I would still come back here again but hope they can figure out how to serve a consistent product. read more

Not gonna lie, I had high expectations for this lamb burger. Could be because I had gone past the point of craving and had reached desperation (after numerous "No, we don't have a lamb burger on our menu." calls) but, either way, no burger should have that much pressure put on it. That being said, Pita Cambridge was up for the challenge and came through with the satisfaction guarantee! It was not only that the lamb was flawlessly cooked (medium rare; which can be a difficult feat for some) and the fries were superbly crisp, but the simplicity of it. As you can see, the burger only had on it a dash of feta cheese, a bit of sautéed onions, a piece of a cherry tomato and a shred of lettuce. Yet still, the flavor in each bite was incredibly rich, full and exemplary. Super grateful to have stumbled across this quaint gem. (Side note: I did modify the toppings. It comes with American cheese (which I changed to feta) and pickles and cucumbers (which I removed)). read more

This place is great! We ordered delivery through Grubhub during quarantine and the food arrived hot, delicious and quickly. They got everything right- the Mediterranean salad was full of veggies and romaine lettuce and the chicken shawarma was perfection. I liked the mixed plate a lot. I have been eating Arab food all of my life and I have to say, the shawarma leaves a lot to be desired. Although they were nice enough to replace my shawarma plate, I shouldn't have to go through the ordeal of not liking anything on the menu because its substandard, anyone would have felt that way. I LOVE this place. I have never had a bad meal. Last night, no exception. My husband and I both got the chicken kabob plate. It includes what has to be the most flavorful, tender chicken breast anywhere, perfectly spiced. Also includes a delicious and gorgeous salad (none of those white lettuce leaves -- all green!), and amazing rice. Each bite was better than the next. I added an extra side of garlic sauce which is to die for. I also got a side of pita. (Breakfast this morning was pita dipped in garlic sauce). My husband got a side of hummus with his. The people who work at Pita also couldn't be nicer. Last night one of the owners (?) spent a huge amount of time patiently helping me try to remember what I had ordered the last time. "What did it look like?" he began patiently. What a sweet, sweet man. I used to find myself feeling badly Pita Cambridge didn't have an actual indoor sit-down restaurant. Now, I'm kinda glad -- Hopefully staying small is what will continue to keep them in business during this awful pandemic. I am already planning to try their Special -- Poutine, the next time I go..
