Beef kafta platter

I stopped in for the first time and almost no one was here - I quickly learned as I listened to the DoorDash/Uber Eats/etc bell go off regularly and a constant stream of drivers were in to pick up orders that this was because most folks seem to order delivery from here. Service was friendly and when my dining companion and I ordered two things with wildly different cooking times, they asked how we'd like to handle the time discrepancy (we opted to have everything come out with the later of the two dishes). Everything was wonderful. I'm pretty sure I could put that garlic sauce on everything. Fast food vibe in the seating area with very bright lighting, if you're not into that and grabbing a soda from the cooler, join the crowd of folks having a driver stop in roughly every three minutes from one of the delivery apps.

TL;DR: Highly recommended. It's cozy, with friendly staff and incredible food. I will definitely be coming back. **Ambiance** This spot is a peaceful retreat in the midst of the bustling downtown area. The ambiance is delightful and I felt right at home as soon as I walked in. The dining area was tidy and the tables were nicely spaced out (check out the photos). **Service and Staff** The staff was incredibly welcoming and kind. The service was quick and we didn't have to wait long for our food. **Food** The food was absolutely delicious. With a large group, our meal was served family-style (see photos). We enjoyed a variety of lamb gyros, chicken shawarma, falafel, pita, hummus, tahini, yellow rice, and salad. Everything was served warm and tasted fantastic. Personally, the lamb gyro with a side of spicy red sauce was the standout. The lamb gyro was made with high-quality meat and had just the right amount of fat to be rich without being overly greasy. The chicken shawarma was perfectly seasoned and tender. The falafel was clearly made with care, with a crispy exterior and a soft, warm interior. **Overall** It was a fabulous dining experience. The meal was excellent, and I will definitely be returning. Highly recommend.

My boyfriend from Louisiana ordered me food from Ubereats from here. The order from Uber had some issues, and Uber wasn't helpful when he tried talking to them. He called the restaurant and was very understanding. Amazing service, and thank you so much to the Pita Dream team for helping my boyfriend put! We really appreciate it! Also, I got the dream platter with extra sauce. It was so good! I can't wait to try the other items that pita dream have on their menu! Must try spot in Syracuse!

I truly enjoy the food here every time I come. The workers are always so friendly and welcoming. The food has a unique flavor and taste. This place is one of my favorite Mediterranean spots. Perfect spot to grab lunch or dinner! The dining area is a little small, but you can always take the food to go! Definitely will be coming back again!

The gyro platter was DELICIOUS!! I ordered my meal through Uber Eats, which was offering a buy 1 - get 1 deal. I was alone at a hotel and didn't need 2 meals that night, so I included a very weird request for them to package up the free meal and give it to my delivery driver. Not only did they oblige, they included a free order of baklava - which was DIVINE!! The Uber Eats driver was ecstatic and told me I had made his entire week. It felt so good to do something nice for someone who was truly helping me out. I was only in town for the night to catch a flight, and didn't have a rental car. The food was great!! Definitely check this place out if you're in the area. PS. Sorry there's no pic of the food. I ate it so fast I forgot to take a pic. Haha.

Customer service was great from the owner who also works out front. Food was great, especially for the price!

Stopped in at 2 on a Wednesday after a recommendation from my roommate. As per usual with my reviews, I was the only patron in the restaurant. Seems like I only eat during off hours. Service was prompt and my food was ready in about 5 minutes. I ordered the lamb and beef pita with a bottle of water. Total came to 10.25 fair pricing for me. The pita was nice and soft with a good texture. I have to say the meat was the star of the dish, it wasn't brimming with meat, but what was there was quite tasty, I wish there was a bit more. The veggies seemed fresh and added a nice textural contrast to the rest of the dish. Easily one of the better pita's I've had in my time. Also, the presentation of the pita was quite pleasing, this thing looked exactly like it did on the menu. I will say this place is kind of a hole in the wall with an obvious focus on takeout. That's totally fine, just be aware that this isn't the spot to take a date or whatever. I'd like to try one of the platters next time I stop by. Good stuff, I'll be back in the near future.

You know when a restaurant has a couple of good dishes, and everything else is pretty ok? Yeah, that's not Pita Dream. Everything I've tried here is out of this world, and that's no exaggeration. I remember thinking to myself, the first time I ordered, "ok, this dream sauce is pretty banging, but I bet the pita bread or the rice will be ordinary." Some restaurants don't put a ton of effort into their vegetarian dishes or sides because they want to focus on their home runs. I didn't feel that way at all when I ordered from here. Each part of the meal was flavorful, warm, and perfectly textured. The falafel isn't dry, and the sauces (both the signature dream sauce and the homemade hot sauce) pack a wallop. The pita is super soft, and the rice is cooked perfectly. Here is a list of items I've tried so far: Falafel platter Fries with dream sauce Loaded dream fries, with falafel instead of chicken (feel free to ask for this! It's not advertised on the menu, but the staff recommends it for vegetarians.) Falafel wrap I'd order any of them again, and would love to see even more vegetarian options in the future. I'm sure the restaurant will innovate and try new dishes as they grow and thrive. Plus, I feel like they'd be down to experiment if I really wanted to try something new. The staff here is really nice, and the owner is really friendly to all customers. Extra kudos because they opened in the middle of a pandemic. Really hope Syracuse continues to show them love. One last tidbit- I know downtown parking intimidates a lot of folks. Since the shop is nestled down on Walton St, that's not usually a problem. Even pre-pandemic there were usually spots, and there's also a parking lot a few feet away.

Have not been back to this place in about a year and I don't know if we caught them on an off-day but the food has gone downhill. I got the dream platter and both the chicken and gyro meat was not very flavorful and was also dry. The rice was also dry and the salad that came with it was not flavorful at all. The garlic sauce also lacked flavor. Will he trying other places in the area before returning here.

Though new to Central New York, Pita Dream is not a new venture. Nas Saada got his start with a Halal food truck, Pita Paradise, in California. He sold it to his cousin in 2019, then moved to Florida, where Pita Dream came to life. Saada then moved to Syracuse and reopened Pita Dream with his brother Fahed in downtown Syracuse. The wife and I LOVE Mediterranean. Its some of our favorite food to eat, and we've tried every Mediterranean place in the city, so with all the rave reviews Pita Dream was getting, we knew we had to try it. I went with the Dream Fries, cause what doesn't sound great about topping fries with a bunch of delicious food and sauces? Wife chose the falafel platter. One thing we like about Pita Dream that is different from other Mediterranean places in that they still operate it almost like a food truck. Most stuff is made into platters for easy transportation over everything being separated into a ton of different sides. It transports well also, as we live about a half hour outside the city and everything was still hot and fresh when we got home. And everything was delicious. The chicken shwarma on top of the fries was great and the best part is the sauces. I dunno what the dream sauce is, but it's amazing, along with the tzatziki and garlic sauce. Wife really liked hers as well and they have some great falafel too. Employees are very nice, and chef Nas regularly comes out and talks to customers and thanks them. Prices are more than fair and portions are generous. Will definitely be back and recommend everyone give them a try.

You walk up to the counter and order. The girl taking my order was very cheerful and helpful when I asked her a question regarding the dream sauce. Had lunch today and chose the lamb pita with regular French fries with dream sauce on the side. The lamb pita was huge and stuffed with lamb, shredded lettuce and tomato's with a lot of Tahiti sauce. It really was tasty! The French fries were not great, not anything special but I did like the dream sauce. I would go back for the lamb pita.

Pita Dreams made my dream for a tasty Mediterranean meal come true! For my first time there, I got the dream platter to sample a bit of everything. The dream sauce was so light and refreshing- the perfect compliment. The chicken, lamb, beef meats were so warm and flavorful. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The pita was top notch and fresh. Can't wait to try more in the future!

This is a SPECIAL and delicious place. Set aside any doubts and get your culinary curiosity going…read moreand GO! I am a serious Yelper. I believe my reviews are honest. I love to help folk who want to avoid bad restaurants and especially to have excellent culinary experiences. I am grateful for others who lead me to memorable dining spots. This is one of them. One Arabian Night is tucked away in a scrappy part of Utica, NY. It's a Yemeni place so authentic at one point the chef came out during a call to prayer, unrolled a little rug and prayed. It's a beautiful thing. People being authentic and showing devotion. These guys are also devoted to flavor, and very generous portions at very good, honest prices. I got the succulent mixed lamb, which had chopped veggies and little pieces of roast potatoes. The dish came with a HUGE "sheet" of freshly baked flat bread with sesame seeds (as big as a pizza) WHO DOES THAT?! Side dishes were a fresh chopped salad of tomatoes, cucumbers, red onion and lettuce with lemon juice and parsley, a bowl of very tasty lamb broth and a spicy chutney. I was blown away. When I was there it was catering only to Arabic families and men amiably chatting and eating with their hands. I was taught by my mom to respect other cultures and do as they do: so I observed the locals a little and dug in -ripping bread off and using it to grab finger fulls of food. It was wonderful. They also have an urn of self-serve sweet spiced tea to help make this a unique and unmissable dining experience in Utica. Go! And please leave your xenophobia behind. This ancient civilization (one of the world's OLDEST) has something to teach the most hardened burger-chomping American.

I've only ever ordered delivery but it's always delish! I'll make sure to dine in soon.read more
