The salad was fresh, colorful, and served with warm pita bread, perfect for slopping up every last bit of dressing. We also shared the black bean dip with fried pita chips, which made for a fun and tasty appetizer. Service was exceptionally friendly, and the staff made us feel right at home. This spot is tucked away in a plaza and easy to overlook, but it's definitely worth seeking out. Be sure to check out the daily specials, too. Bonus tip: If you're considering the chicken salad, order it! A friend shared their copycat recipe with me, and the cashews add such a fantastic texture.

The menu has lots of vegetarian options, and many of the desserts are listed as gluten free. The French onion soup broth was delicious, even if the onions were only translucent and not caramelized. The ingredient that did not square with me were the croutons of seeded rye. Maybe a mistake? The color scheme is purple walls with grey baffles. The noise-abatement measures are somewhat nullified by the volume of the overhead speakers playing late 80's/ early 90's British Wave. (Spandau Ballet, anyone?) The waitresses were lovely, and worked well as a team.

My partner ordered for us saying it's going to be a great lunch, and it was. He tried this place before. The large option was a perfect size for two. It's one of those restaurants where the best way to order is through their website. Or, just look at what they offer and which combo fits your taste buds the best. It would speed up the order process as well (at least for me;). I am not someone who can evaluate Middle Eastern cuisine from extensive experience or frequent consumption, but you should definitely visit Papa's Halal Gyro. It's truly worth it. Then judge for yourself. Yes, the garlic sauce is very intense but delicious. Just don't have it before a business meeting or if you are planning to have a rendezvous soon after your meal. The best, find a partner who loves garlic as much as you do ;). Next time, I'll try White Home/Dill Sauce with just a splash of Mint Sauce, and maybe a little Garlic Sauce on the side.

The young man serving us was very helpful, and provided samples of the beef, chicken, rice, and sauces to try before we ordered. Loved the tzatziki sauce but the garlic sauce is INTENSE! We passed on that! We would have been smelling like garlic for days to come! Very small place, only seating for maybe 4. Definitely designed for take out.

We were sooooo thankful pierce Ave was open. We got a nice spot at the bar. I wish they had those hooks under the bar for your coat/purse, but otherwise it was perfect. I got a mocktail that I thought was a little odd, it had Orange Juice and Blue curacao in it, so it had a brown color to it and looked muddy... as far as I understand, Blue curacao should be used to make drinks as visually appealing as possible, so they might want to rethink that mocktail. Anyway, my sister and I ordered wings and we loved them, they were Buy one order get one order free, so basically, the best wing deal in town! The bartender taking care of us was Eric and he was so nice. He did everything promptly for us and made great conversation. I have been telling everyone to check out Pierce Ave since!

Filled with plenty of fresh greens, quinoa, tomatoes and lots of chicken. Shaved Parmesan cheese and walnuts made a delicious complement to the other ingredients and the pesto vinaigrette was the perfect dressing! My wife loved her apple salad with shredded kale, wild rice, apple, dried cranberry, toasted almonds and plenty of roasted chicken. She substituted mozzarella cheese for the goat cheese that is normally in the salad for a slight up charge. The salad is finished off with a balsamic vinaigrette dressing. The orange dreamsicle smoothie was also excellent. Made with banana, orange, vanilla and almond milk... a tasty sweet treat to enjoy with my salad. The service was excellent as well. The friendly and knowledgeable staff helped me decide on which Smoothie to order as I was mulling over the Raspberry, Strawberry and Orange Dreamsicle. We both liked how we received a choice regarding the amount of dressing we wanted for our salad. Light, medium, heavy or on the side. Being a dressing lover I opted for heavy dressing, while my wife asked for hers somewhere between light and medium. She probably should have just gone with medium as it seemed not quite enough for her taste. Homegrown is set up where you order at the counter and can watch as the staff creates your salad or bowl. There was plenty of seating to handle the lunch crowd which grew as we dined at our table. I would definitely recommend Homegrown for your next outing for a quick, healthy and delicious lunch or dinner. We will definitely be back!
