This is by far one of my favorite restaurants. I recently moved out of the area, and whenever I come to visit, I make sure that I come here! The food is fresh. The quality is outstanding, and the service is wonderful. Everyone is so friendly and if you have questions about the menu, they're super open to explaining and helping make recommendations. The spicy feta dip is unbelievable and even though I can't handle much space I get this every time because it is so delicious. I like to get my chicken in it and even mix it with the rice or vegetables. I would recommend this 10 out of 10 every time. read more

This spot is so easy to miss, especially in a corner of Downey you can breeze through trying to catch the 5 Fwy. Been to this spot twice and both times it caught my attention with their details with trying to keep their authenticity with their flavors. Their American Gyro hits the spot in the best way possible. Their gyro meat is fresh off the spit and nicely seared to have that flat plate crunch with the internal juices still bubbling with spices and explosive flavors. The veggies are such a refreshing contrast and the fries on top remind me of their version of a Californian burrito. And if you can, add in that spicy feta cheese sauce cause it's super tangy and it add such depth to an already delicious sandwich you can get East of LA. The one that stole the experience is those zucchini chips/fried zucchini. They are so airy and vibrant, this picture doesn't do it justice. No disrespect to their fries which is a good side cause they season them well and they are worth the visit, but those zucchinis with the tzatziki sauce are otherworldly especially with the lager that they offer in store. If I can come back for anything, it'll be because of this zucchini chips that makes me miss fair food even more. Wow! This place is great. I didn't want to wait in the long lines at the Greek Festival so we came to Pita GR. We tried the GR Burger with GR fries, zucchini chips, spanakopita, baklava froyo and cucumber lemonade. The GR burger is served with spicy feta, grilled veggies and mustard aioli. More than enough to share. It was spicy for me-but I'm a bit wimpy. The GR fries were so-so, more like a herbed french fry. We really liked the zucchini chips with Greek ranch. Didn't feel like cooking tonight and wanted something fresh and flavorful! Found this spot in Downey and decided to give it a try. Got the Lamb Pita, Beet Salad and Tzatziki Dip. The Lamb pita was phenomenal and a great portion which also came with well cooked fries! The avocado, red onion, tomatoes and cucumber on it were so fresh and worked well with the tangy sauce. I am a big fan of Beet salads in general so I had to try their version and I must say it was spectacular. Super fresh. The black figs and walnuts with the feta and dill herbs was genius and tasted GREAT. The portion size was also very generous. The Tzatziki dip which came with a few slices of pita bread tasted great however for the $6 price I don't think was worth it as the amount of sauce and slices of pita seemed smaller. However, taste wise it was very good and refreshing. All in all I would definitely go back and I will be going back! read more

Pita GR hits the spot. The Zeus fries are AMAZING! The extra $2 for braised lamb is definitely worth it too. You might think $17 for the large Zeus fries is a bit much, but it is worth EVERY penny. You can definitley split the large with someone and still feel satisfied after eating. The GR potatoes are also really good! I wish it had some garlic and a little red pepper flakes, but they're great nonetheless. They also have baklava froyo, and it was so tarty and tasty! Their pitas come with a side of fries, nice and crispy, and sprinkled with a tiny bit of cheese and seasoning. These are incredibly tasty and I love these fries so much!!! The location is very clean and nicely themed/decorated. They've been setting up a platform outside which I think will be outdoor seating. If so, it looks very atmospheric, with soft lighting and plants. The employees are always very polite, accommodating, and speedy with their service. These past few months especially, they have made me feel reassured about the safety/cleanliness precautions taken by the restaurant. I have always gotten my order to-go, and the food is well packed and the portions are perfectly filling. Pita GR has some of the most flavorful food in Downey. Lemon flavor is heavy in all the food which is so amazing!!! Came in based on reviews and it didn't disappoint. I was really happy with the environment, the staff & the fresh food. I tried the Greek sour cherry soda on ice it would be great. I had the chicken pita so bomb! The chicken soup was delicious. The lamb and beef was so flavorful. The sauces, salad dressing and hummus are mouthwatering. The only thing that wasn't a hit was the rice it was pretty bland surprisingly.
