Oh yes, my friends, it is actually as disgusting as it looks. NEVER in my 70 years ever seen Falafel GRILLED, always deep fried. I asked if it came frozen, and the lady said, "We make the Falafel fresh". ABSOLUTELY, they would be much better off purchasing frozen. The sauce is a very weak, watered down Tzaiey. Even if you were paying, I still would not Dane to dine here. Seven Dollars for a cup of ice with a sprinkle of syrup. LOLOLOL My God, what a monstrosity.

Now... I can't wait to dig into this !

I had to go ahead and write a review regarding this particular Pita Grill San Diego at 5375 Napa Street ..as it was exceptional in every way !! I've literally tried /eaten hundreds of Falafel all over the country, and even overseas...and without a doubt.. this was absolutely hands down the freshest most authentic most delicious Falafel I've EVER had!! Just as excellent ...were both the ziti and Tahini sauce on the side. Not only was the food fantastic and affordable but the restaurant itself was exceptionally clean and cool, and the staff delightful -especially the manager Betty. You cannot go wrong with anything on this menu.. and I plan on trying as much as I can before I leave San Diego !!!

It's so nice to have fresh healthy Mediterranean food in the Linda Vista neighborhood now! The restaurant is kind of a fast casual set up. There's a soda fountain as well as a cooler full of drinks. You place the order at the counter and have a seat and they make your food on a flat top right there in front of you. The place is incredibly clean too by the way. My man got the lunch special, which is a gyro, a salad or a bag of chips and a soda. He seemed to really enjoy it, ate every bite and quick too. I got the pita grill wrap, which is grilled chicken with a lemony, hummus sauce, lettuce, tomato, pickled onion and olives. I really thought the sauce was good and the whole thing was quite fresh. For some reason. I thought this was gonna come on pita and it was more of a tortilla wrap. Probably my fault I didn't read the description entirely.

A new pita business has opened at this end suite of the Shops at Arrive Mission Valley. Pita Grill SD was in its soft opening phase when I visited a few weeks ago. The decor had not changed much since its predecessor also featured the same style of cuisine. The inside seating capacity was sufficient for about 20 customers. A few two-top tables were placed out front on the sidewalk for al fresco dining. Two menu screens hung on the back wall upon entering instead of behind the service counter. Because they were directly opposite of the front entrance, the glare from the sunlight made it difficult to read the menu. A filter needs to be installed over the screens, or they should be moved to a more optimal location. Appetizers, salads, sandwiches, wraps, and plates made up the main categories. I picked a Sirloin Kebab Plate for my take-out order. It consisted of one skewer of sirloin meat cooked medium rare as my preference. Saffron rice, hummus with black olives, mixed greens with a citrus vinaigrette dressing, and four pita slices accompanied the skewer. The beef could have used more seasoning or marinade before cooking. The other components were decent although I would like to have seen more hummus as a dip for the pita bread. I have seen other places serve two skewers instead of one for a similar price. Therefore, some of the local competitors offer a better value. The food I tried at Pita Grill SD was of reasonable quality and serving size to earn a four star rating.

Food is so so tasty! Service is super welcoming, plus fresh food. Prices are very fair. Will be back :)

One of the best local mediterranean spot! I got the chicken shawarma wrap and it was delicious ! It was well seasoned and the wrap used fresh vegetables and you can taste the care that went into it. Betty at the register provided great customer service.

Happened to be in SD in mini vacation and had the mood for Mediterranean. Found this place, and now I want one in my neighborhood. Service was super friendly and the food was fantastic! Would highly recommend!

This place just opened up by my house. I always love new places to try. The food here tastes so fresh and flavorful. I have tried this place now twice since they have been open and I have yet to have anything I didn't like. The service was fast and friendly as I was on lunch break with not a lot of time. The inside is clean and bright very welcoming. This place will definitely be on the rotation for lunch and dinner. This place definitely won't disappoint.

5 star service here ! Very helpful since I'm vegan! The food was great too, and they were very speedy. We'll definitely be coming back.

Had a great first experience here. Their service was outstanding, which is very rare to find these days in San Diego. I appreciated the help and guidance since I'm vegan. Food was amazing. Love the space. Definitely check it out. We will be back!

It is a cool concept. I finally got the chance to try it out. I walked in and there was a solo customer and a group of three people ahead of me. The solo customer had just finished her order and I was focused on the menu so not really paying attention. Basically, you choose your base, additional add-ins, a protein, and dressing. The party of three in front of me were kind of talking amongst themselves and told me that I could go ahead. As I was ordering, I noticed they changed their mind and abruptly headed out. I was unsure why. The place is clean and ingredients look super fresh. As I was finishing up my order, I saw why they changed their mind and left. The woman serving me was helping me cut up my protein (chicken) and scooped it up with the knife and her gloves hand. She proceeded to pick up the remaining pieces with her gloved hand and place it in my salad. She immediately grabbed a towel and wiped her gloved hands with said towel. I was shocked and grossed out at the same time! She then rang me up (with same gloves on) and packed my order ina bag. I did not see her change her gloves at all. I understood why the party of three in front of me left. I was hopeful that the gloves were relatively new. I thought if I air fried the chicken well enough before the eating it with the salad, I might be safe. I was wrong. I had food poisoning. The salad was likely compromised by the chicken, but it could easily have been the chicken too (although I heated it up really well). I know it was from the salad because this was the only thing I ate that day and within the last 24 hours. When I work my shifts, I fast and when I get off, I sleep and get food a few hours after I wake up. It is sad because this place is clean and ingredients look fresh. The woman who handled my food was relatively friendly. I think she just needs retraining. This is why food servers get food handlers cards. I did scope out the place the next time I was eating at Flame Broiler. It was a different server and he changed his gloves and appeared to handle everything properly. That's why I can't give this place just a one star. Just be aware of how your food is being handled when you go in. Gloves are good if you change them and know how to handle food properly... otherwise, they are pointless! 0 / 5 - Food (poor handling) 3 / 5 - Cleanliness 3 / 5 - Service 2 / 5: Overall

I find that while the portions are huge, it's never truly satisfying. Some of the greens can look a little limp, so I often choose my base based on what looks the most fresh. Some of the ingredient toppings are raw, while others have a marinade or seasoning. I like the seasoned cauliflower, but find the brussell sprouts to be dry and not quite right (in between raw and cooked). I've gotten a few different salads from here, but there's just something missing. On the first visit, Zack provided exceptional care and attention while helping navigate food allergies. Zack took the time to carefully check ingredients, double-check preparations, and personally come back out to verify everything to ensure safety. That level of care made the experience feel genuinely welcoming and stress-free. The chicken sandwich was fresh, satisfying, and thoughtfully balanced. Juicy chicken, ripe tomatoes, creamy avocado, and a bright splash of oil and vinegar came together beautifully on Big Front Door's roll, which had a great texture and held everything together well. The flavors were clean and vibrant. A little extra salt would have pushed it over the top for a salt-lover, but that came down to personal preference rather than any shortcoming. A dining companion ordered the avocado sandwich and could not stop raving about it, praising both the flavor and the freshness. The outdoor seating area deserves special mention. The shaded space was perfect as I do have sun allergies, especially for anyone who prefers relief from direct sun. The care taken in food preparation added an extra layer of comfort and trust. The second visit somehow raised the bar even higher. Micah went above and beyond to accommodate physical ability needs with patience, attentiveness, and genuine kindness. That effort did not go unnoticed and made the experience feel deeply respectful and inclusive. The roasted chicken sandwich ordered on the second visit was phenomenal. The roasted chicken was tender, savory, and full of depth, elevating the sandwich even further. Adding a bit of extra salt brought all the ingredients into perfect harmony, making every bite more satisfying than the last. This sandwich has officially earned a spot as a new favorite sandwich. Big Front Door was amazing not just for delicious, thoughtfully prepared food, but for the people who work there. Zack and Micah created an environment where care, kindness, and respect were clearly prioritized. No moment felt rushed, dismissive, or uncomfortable. At no point did anyone make the experience feel like a burden or inconvenience. A sincere thank-you also goes to the team members who prepared the food. Even without knowing names, the care taken to keep guests safer while serving delicious nourishment was evident and deeply appreciated. Big Front Door comes highly recommended for the flavorful sandwiches, the shaded outdoor space, the welcoming atmosphere, outstanding customer service, and the genuine kindness shown at every action.

At this point, I dont really care about how the food tastes. Lol! Let's start off with the one problem i had with this place. The parking!!! It took me 20m to find parking and im not about to park my car on the street. I have precious dogs! Lol kidding. I just couldn't find any parking on the street or in the block! I suppose i came during lunch which is probably really busy. When I left, there were quite a few opened parking spots. This place is connected to an apartment complex surrounding retail stores. The leasing building is right next to Gravity Heights. I used to rent a 4k+ a month apartment in a retail area and let me tell you, its a hassle to find parking and not take a retail parking spot without having your complex email you everyday about your car potentially being towed lol! I understand this pain. Now that we are past that, let's get to why this place deserves 5 stars. The service is excellent! My server came around at the perfect times and they seem to really care if I enjoyed my meal! The stellar atmosphere with attentive service is enough for me! I got a gravity burger protein style which I dont think did the burger justice. I was going to eat with my husband later at a Vietnamese restaurant and I can only choose one carb for the day. My diabetic life is tough! Lol. I chose the Cesar salad to go with my burger. My burger was delicious bc of the caramelized onions. I didn't really taste a sauce in the burger but the excellent bacon with the much needed caramelized onions made the burger fantastic! The IPA hazy beer i had with my meal was also light and mellow. I thoroughly enjoyed my time and meal. My babies also enjoyed their burger! The weather was perfect today and it was a nice time and to think I was not going to eat here bc the parking definitely was a huge deterrent. Next time ill bring human company!
