Here is the breakdown from my recent visit: The Food: I ordered the Steak Wrap, and it hit the spot. The ingredients tasted incredibly fresh, the steak was flavorful, and the whole wrap was perfectly put together. The Service & Vibe: The employees here are the real deal. They had amazing energy, super welcoming vibes, and genuinely made the experience great from the moment I walked in. The Ambiance: The restaurant itself was super spotless. You can tell the team takes pride in keeping the space immaculate, which is always a massive plus. Great food, immaculate space, and stellar customer service. I was not fond of the place before the new ownership and staff. Now I order at least twice a week for lunch! I've had both the shawarma and kabob, both very tasty. I have not had tender and tasty kabob that wasn't dry in a very long time. The portions are generous. Betty and Claudia are super friendly and accommodating. Oh yes, my friends, it is actually as disgusting as it looks. NEVER in my 70 years ever seen Falafel GRILLED, always deep fried. I asked if it came frozen, and the lady said, "We make the Falafel fresh". ABSOLUTELY, they would be much better off purchasing frozen. The sauce is a very weak, watered down Tzaiey. It's so nice to have fresh healthy Mediterranean food in the Linda Vista neighborhood now! The restaurant is kind of a fast casual set up. There's a soda fountain as well as a cooler full of drinks. You place the order at the counter and have a seat and they make your food on a flat top right there in front of you. The place is incredibly clean too by the way. My man got the lunch special, which is a gyro, a salad or a bag of chips and a soda. He seemed to really enjoy it, ate every bite and quick too. I got the pita grill wrap, which is grilled chicken with a lemony, hummus sauce, lettuce, tomato, pickled onion and olives. I really thought the sauce was good and the whole thing was quite fresh. For some reason. I thought this was gonna come on pita and it was more of a tortilla wrap. Probably my fault I didn't read the description entirely. read more

A new pita business has opened at this end suite of the Shops at Arrive Mission Valley. Pita Grill SD was in its soft opening phase when I visited a few weeks ago. The decor had not changed much since its predecessor also featured the same style of cuisine. The inside seating capacity was sufficient for about 20 customers. A few two-top tables were placed out front on the sidewalk for al fresco dining. Two menu screens hung on the back wall upon entering instead of behind the service counter. Because they were directly opposite of the front entrance, the glare from the sunlight made it difficult to read the menu. A filter needs to be installed over the screens, or they should be moved to a more optimal location. Appetizers, salads, sandwiches, wraps, and plates made up the main categories. I picked a Sirloin Kebab Plate for my take-out order. It consisted of one skewer of sirloin meat cooked medium rare as my preference. Saffron rice, hummus with black olives, mixed greens with a citrus vinaigrette dressing, and four pita slices accompanied the skewer. The beef could have used more seasoning or marinade before cooking. The other components were decent although I would like to have seen more hummus as a dip for the pita bread. I have seen other places serve two skewers instead of one for a similar price. Therefore, some of the local competitors offer a better value. The food I tried at Pita Grill SD was of reasonable quality and serving size to earn a four star rating. read more

I had the "Shawarma" plate. I put that word in quotes because I'm not sure what that was but it sure didn't taste or look like Shawarma. I've had Shawarma at four other places and know what it should look and taste like and this wasn't it. It was also rather dry on top of rather dry rice with no kind of sauce or anything to go with it. Normally, I wouldn't need sauce with Shawarma, but this kind of needed it. I had high hopes for this place based on prior reviews. The falafel plate I got was a decent size, but both the falafel and hummus were pretty flavorless, definitely bottom 10% of all falafel places I've been (this is one of my favorite types of food). I've literally tried /eaten hundreds of Falafel all over the country, and even overseas...and without a doubt.. this was absolutely hands down the freshest most authentic most delicious Falafel I've EVER had!! Just as excellent ...were both the ziti and Tahini sauce on the side. Not only was the food fantastic and affordable but the restaurant itself was exceptionally clean and cool,and the staff delightful -especially the manager Betty. Been there about 5 times now for wraps. Simple and tasty with good service, last time I went I met the owner who was working alone and was a very nice guy. He mentioned they now have deli subs as well. The pepperoncinis are delicious! The place itself is smaller but I always grab and go. read more

My coworker and I decided to give this place a try seeing as it had good reviews . She got a chicken pita and I got the chicken kebab plate. I knew something was off just based on the smell when I opened up my plate. It didn't have that typical Greek smell that I'm used to. The chicken had a spice on it that smelled more like cinnamon than the typical Mediterranean spices. The rice was dry, the hummus was hot and soup like . Went in on a weekend ordered a chicken Caesar salad wrap and a chicken shawarma plate. Both were made to order chicken made on the grill right then. Both were excellent. The chicken Caesar wrap was a large portion so I had it the next day for lunch and it was still fantastic! The service was fast and friendly. Definitely recommend! read more

We happened upon this spot and were so happy we did. They just opened a couple weeks ago and took over the space where a previous chain pita place was. The owner was there and he was so nice and helpful with food suggestions as were the other employees. We shared a chicken shawarma wrap which had a lot of great flavor and all the ingredients were super fresh. The new outdoor seating is very nice and we really enjoyed our lunch. Next time we'll probably get 1 wrap each. We will definitely return. read more

Needed a last minute catering order for 12 people and so I stopped in here at 11 am to see if they could help me out. There were only two people working but they didn't hesitate and immediately started preparing a large order of gyro, chicken kebab, rice, salad, and hummus. Everything was packed and ready to go within 45 minutes - AMAZING customer service! I wish I had gotten a picture before our group dug in because the presentation was also 10/10. I needed to make this review. Used to come to the restaurant at this location for years and I stopped about 1 year ago. The food was no good. Well, it seems to have a changed ownership. What a difference. So glad I stopped and tried the place again when I noticed the changes. The place is very clean and bright. Staff is friendly and gives suggestions. The food I ordered was delicious. The Gyro plate had lots of meat that was perfectly seasoned and tender. Salad, was crisp and fresh with a delicious Mediterranean dressing. 4 pieces of very soft and fresh Pita bread with your choice of hummus. I will definitely be returning to try more of the items I saw people eating, Shrimp Kabob and the Smash Tzatziki Burger, etc. They looked wonderful. Lots of menu choices.
