This review is long overdue, as I've been eating here for years. Pita Hot is insanely delicious - as long as I've been coming here, they've been utilizing the same recipes, and most importantly (to my knowledge), griddles and cookware since opening. It tastes like years of love are in every bite when you dine here. On top of that, they've maintained the same ownership as long as I've known them, and their employees seem to have been here almost as long - everyone is incredibly sweet and patient! Cameron, for instance, is all of the aforementioned and more. You can really see they only hire people who care! If you aren't sold yet - My roommate left his wallet while picking up an order some time ago... How do I know this? Because, the literal owner of Pita Hot drove to us and dropped it off! They're an amazing, family-run establishment, and their tenure speaks volumes to their hard work and attention to their community. I like the business history of Pita Hut. You don't see too much "fast food" like set up for middle eastern venue so this establishment stands out. The cashier/owner is friendly and efficient. You see the food prepared behind the counter space, a bit of a clutter, but I can value the authenticity. I recommend the combo -- good amount of food. We ordered and dined in. The seating area, especially the tables, can use a wipe down. This is wear our wipes came in handy. The food (and rating): Beef Shawarma Combo (4/5). There's something about the rice, maybe it's the butter or the seasoning, that I love. The beef shawarma was a bit dry and chewy. The added sides of hummus and tabouli salad salad were generously prepared. It even comes with a few slices of pita bread. Falafel Sandwich (3/5). It's very dry and missing some extra sauce or something. Beef Kabobs Combo (4/5). I would recommend this combo and top it off with fries. This is a business worth coming back to support. If you have a bad attitude and dislike waiting for quality food, would rather go through a drive through then BE GONE!! You will 100% need patience to be a satisfied customer at Pita hot. The food on average (at least during lunch hours) will be a 45 minute wait. I recommend ordering ahead. If you're doing a walk in, I wish you a pleasant journey because you WILL be waiting in a tight little area. ANYWAY, the chicken kebabs are my personal favorite. In my (nearly) 11 months of coming. I've been coming to Pita Hot for YEARS. What I love is that the food is consistently good and the portions are decently large so I can eat it for another meal. I always get chicken schwarma plate with hummus and Mediterranean salad. So yum. I came here with my church group and the owner was happy to have us and was accommodating. Very grateful for that too! This food was okay for me compared to my usual place in Covina. I tried the beef, lamb, and shrimp kabobs entrees, as well as the lamb sandwich. The food was delicious but it just didn't hit the spot. I didn't like the lamb sandwich at all, it seemed lacking. I wanted to try this restaurant because they make their rice (mixed with vermicelli pieces) similar to my usual spot. Tips: Be sure to ask for garlic spread when you pick up your order, it wasn't automatically included. Order online to avoid the wait but there's also a small upcharge when placing your order online versus at the store. read more

Got to enjoy breakfast on their first launch day ! Wow ! So yum we ordered the steak and eggs as well as the Kefta and eggs plates. Everything was cooked well and was flavorful. Happy to have the pita to dip in the cream cheese dip. Also, dared myself to try the pistachio coffee...ohhh so good! Not too sweet and could still get the taste of coffee. Definitely looking forward to my next breakfast date with my hubby it was his first time and he thoroughly enjoyed it as well. Service was great Selena helped break down the menu and order. Great food, good pricing. My first time at pita hot and their food did not disappoint! I ordered the lamb kebab plate with hummus and sumak onions, it was delicious and the salad (extra $1.50 for base upgrade) was refreshing and well dressed. The only unfortunate aspect was that the entire dining area is closed and only the outdoor patio is available. Their restrooms are also closed. Hopefully they are able to open their dining area back up soon!! Definitely recommend that everyone give them a try! read more

Love the food but the service is horrendous. Aren't a lot of places like this? They know people will come for the food so they don't prioritize customer service. I typically order the 2 meat combo with beef and chicken skewer with rice, Mediterranean salad, and hummus. Husband gets the same but friend orders the shawarma here. Says it's more flavorful than the kebabs. Don't forget to ask for garlic sauce! You only get 1 per order and you have to ask for it. Otherwise they do not give it to you. Also note that online orders take approximately 10-15 minutes longer than listed. Today it was ready 12 minutes after the estimated pick up time. read more

However, a few notes: if you order the whole/half grilled chicken, be prepared to wait a full hour for your food to cook. Do NOT order the Mediterranean salad as your side instead of rice, you will get SKIMPED. I ordered 3 plates - 2 with salad and 1 with rice and ended up with 3 orders with a side of salad. This place is delicious. My friend placed an order for me and picked up beef kafta, beef shawarma, bubba ganoush, and tatziki with rice for me. I so wanted to enjoy this place and chose it because I was very hungry and it seemed like a safe choice - the reviews were great and it's very hard to mess up Mediterranean food. The restaurant is fairly large and there is a second larger room for quieter seating. The restroom was decently large and clean. It seems like the restaurant receives a good amount of traction. Unfortunately, I was incredibly disappointed. My friend ordered fries and I initially thought that it was a mistake to order fries when there were so many other delicious options on the menu, but the fries were perfectly crisp and the only thing that I ended up enjoying as well. I love hummus but the hummus here was lacking in flavor and the texture was oddly pasty. It could have been redeemed by a fluffy pita, but the pita served to us was ice cold. It was not defrosted let alone heated up. This is probably the first time I have ever seen unfinished bread by the end of my meal. The beef fajitas (it would be an insult to many cultures to call this shawarma) were salty and dry. If you're looking for authentic cuisine, stay far away from this place. read more

Food is definitely tasty. Big portions & good flavor. It looks like anything on the menu is a good idea. The pita bread honestly was underwhelming with flavor, but that's alright. That's what the hummus is for. Love the chicken, the rice is top tier, hummus & tzatziki are the perfect sides. Biggest bummer about this place is the wait - we waited in line for 10 minutes - and there really weren't that many people in front of us. Just a slow line. Then they have a sign that says it takes 30-35 minutes to prep the food. And it's pretty accurate. This isn't a quick grab-n-go type of place, but it's also not a sit down restaurant. It's kind of a tough middle between the two. Not ideal for any scenario I can think of. They have a lot of seating in this room on the side. It's kinda noisy in there. I feel like I'd prefer to take it home and eat if possible. Maybe I would try to call ahead instead of ordering in the line. Price wise, I guess it's reasonable considering the large portion you get. But it's hard to pay over $15 for a to-go meal. I used to love this place, but the wait is too unpredictable I think to come back.
