Hopped in here because we were exploring the area. The waitress was so warm and friendly, service was so attentive. I thought the shawarma was well-priced and high quality. Tried the shawarma platter and it was delicious -- could maybe have used more seasoning but there is an "authentic" platter option that I didn't order. Shawarma sandwich was fantastic as well, and their sweet ice tea was absolutely refreshing and had a very deep and floral sweet taste which was very unique. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Absolutely loved the peaceful and calm vibes in here, the vintage decor too.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I highly recommend and will be coming back!

Wow! We arrived from Brooklyn grumpy and hungry. Horsefeathers was quoted about an hr wait and we had started this journey thinking that would be a cute restaurant to visit. We decided to walk a bit to see if there are any snacks around the corner and saw there were no lines for this place. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There was definitely no spooky vibes or historic looks but wow did the food blow my head off.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We sad sandwiches between two families with screaming toddlers and had given in to being miserable on tourism prices. We were so wrong. The food was so flavorful and on point. The beef kabobs were juicy, the pita so soft, and the schnizle was crispy from beginning to end. PS- ask for the side of spicy sauce that I took a photo of. It has a pleasant burn but not spicy. It added a bit of acidity and extra fresh flavor to everything.

How have I not known about this place??? Great, reasonably priced option for delicious Mediterranean food with an [[HIGHLIGHT]]energetic atmosphere and excellent service.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We started with the hummus and pita and then had the shawarma sandwich and chicken kebab platter. Everything was excellent but the kebab platter was the standout and a must order for next time. Call ahead to reserve a table as it can get busy.

I love the food here some everything is fresh. I decided to order the hummus plate thinking they would give you more than one pita to sop up all that hummus. I was wrong, and sadly I had to order and pay for a second pita. I also decided to try the salad which came over dressed and was drowning in dressing. Lesson learned- don't order the hummus , order the platter which comes with hummus and pita. If you order salad, ask for dressing on the side. Nonetheless the service was friendly.

The Schnitzel Platter was SO good! That's what I ordered when my husband and I had dinner there last night before going to the Tarrytown Music Hall. The woman running the restaurant was friendly and very hospitable. The vibe inside was chill. There was a steady flow of pick up orders and dine-in customers. My husband loved his Falafel Platter and the Roasted Eggplant side we ordered. Again, the Schnitzel was great and I was a fan of the grape leaves. The pita bread that came to the table was so fluffy and perfect with our food. Highly recommend stopping here if you're looking for an easy, casual bite to eat before a performance at the Tarrytown Music Hall (which is just around the corner).

Sweet corner location on Broadway ( southbound side) there are steps up to the entrance. A fair amount of tables, primarily two top and four top, which could be pushed together for a larger group. I think that. As well, the manager/server who took my takeout order, was very, very pleasant and helpful. Given my allergies, he was able to make a couple of recommendations. The food was really lovely, especially the freshly warmed pita, which didn't taste anything like that cardboard stuff you buy in the supermarket. This pita at $1.50 per Well worth it. My options were very limited so I opted in for the tabouli salad, which did not have onion or garlic in it. It was very light on the tomatoes. Very light. That is my one criticism. Prices are what you would expect on the main street of a Trendy town. Good for a dash and go. But you will pay a premium. Would I recommend it? If you have no limitations for food, I would say yes. Just expect to pay a premium.

Absolutely delicious! Good sized portions and everything tasted fresh and well seasoned.

I did takeout from Pita house last week and was thrilled to find a quick takeout place for my lunch/dinner while out and about for work. I had the chicken shawarma platter - served with rice, hummus and cucumber salad. Loved the green hot sauce served on the side. Pita is hot and ginormous. Raita/yogurt sauce is excellent. Had a side of tabouli - everything was delicious! Food was ready quickly and I was in and out of there in about a minute (since I ordered online ahead of time). Will definitely try this place again if I need a quick, delicious meal.

This place was so so dang good. The pita was absolutely to die for, I will be dreaming about it. And that hummus?!

Good food and quality is consistent and fresh - however it's overpriced and the plates / portions are smaller than I would have expected.

There were also several picnic benches around the side of the building, but I wasn't clear if they belonged to the restaurant. You order at the register and they call out your name when your food is ready. They have a ton of vegan/vegetarian options, as well as a great breakfast/brunch menu. I ordered the egg and cheese biscuit. The cheddar jalapeño biscuit was delicious. It was buttery and dense. The flavors were mild, but the sandwich was the perfect portion size. I also got a side of the vegan bacon. It was rubbery and tough to chew. Would not recommend. My husband enjoyed the breakfast burrito. We also shared the buffalo cauliflower. The cauliflower pieces were well coated in buffalo sauce and very flavorful. I also got the Don't Kale Me juice. It was tangy, citrusy, and refreshing. The Deep Roots smoothie was also quite tasty. They have free self-serve water and the employees were quick to wipe down tables so they were clean for the next party. Looking forward to coming again!

Going inside Grass Roots Kitchen was a breath of fresh air. The aesthetics put me in the mind of earth day and such beautiful paintings on the wall and flowers and greenery throughout. Grass Roots Kitchen offers have high tops dining as well as, regular dining, and outside dining. The dining area is pretty large, length wise and beautifully attractive. I ordered the egg and cheese biscuit with the help of the cashier, I didn't get her name and it's on the receipt but I threw it out. Even though this was not a vegan dish, who could pass on a collosal cheese biscuit. The egg was a nice accompaniment to this cheese biscuit also. The lady that gave me the biscuits said, wow! That smells nice. I thought she was giving me a compliment on the order until I sniffed the bag. Normally I don't do well with my sense of smell but, boy oh boy! That was a gooooooood smelling biscuit. And the taste, it tastes so good, it makes you want to slap yo momma. (Don't do it, it just makes you want to slap her.) Needless to say, I really enjoyed this cheese biscuit. In hindsight I guess I could have grabbed a hot drink, maybe next time, and there will be a next time because I told the lady that this was my first time and at the restuarant and I'm new in the area. The pro tip here is to get a pound of the candied pecans to take home with you, they are life affirming. Are you disappointed by the dearth of decent cheese in the United States? Well Mint has a panoply of incredible cheeses from Europe and the charcuterie and cheese plate gives you an almost indecent amount of cured meats and stunning cheeses with freshly toasted baguette and a generous portion of Membrillo for a very reasonable (in today's economy) $29. You might be tempted by the Moroccan Chicken, and you should be, it is delicious but for me they do a really amazing Steak Frites that is cooked to perfection. I ordered mine "à point" or medium rare and it was absolutely as advertised. My husband had the Cuban on gluten free bread and was very happy with it. The ambience of the restaurant is really nice, it is very warm and inviting with cool decoration and big vats of marinated olives and other delicious mezze, or Kamio to be nationally accurate. Check out the cheese selection in my photos, it really is S tier.
